Product description

Balanced dry cat food for older cats over the age of 12 years with sensitive teeth and gums, with a special kibble shape and adapted phosphorus content to support healthy ageing.

As cats get older, their nutritional needs change. Royal Canin Ageing 12+ Cat recognises this change and has been designed to meet your cat's new needs. As senses of taste and smell can decrease in older age, this kibble has a particularly appealing design to attract your cat's attention and satisfy it. Each cushion features a crispy outer shell with a soft and creamy filling, offering a unique flavour that your cat will not be able to resist.
The energy levels are also specially tailored, providing the perfect amount of energy to allow for an active life whilst maintaining an ideal weight. The 30% protein content helps to strengthen muscles, so that ageing does not have to mean getting old!

Royal Canin Ageing 12+ Cat at a glance:

  • Balanced, complete food for cats over 12 years old
Stay fit even in older age
The complete recipe supports ageing and provides all the nutrients needed in later life.

  • Particularly delicious: with a double texture that can encourage your cat to eat
  • Healthy ageing: a special antioxidant complex that can minimise the effects of ageing and strengthen the immune system
  • Plenty of energy: the adapted energy content provides sufficient energy for day-to-day life, whilst maintaining a healthy weight
  • Active kidneys: tailored phosphorus and mineral contents to support kidney and urinary system function
  • For skin and coat: omega fatty acids can promote healthy skin and glossy coat

Royal Canin Quality Guarantee
All Royal Canin products undergo strict quality controls, in order to ensure your cat receives a premium quality food adapted to meet its individual nutritional needs and specific lifestyle. This means that Royal Canin offers your cat high-quality, balanced nutrition.

Mixed feeding - cleverly combined: the combination of wet and dry food takes on the positive aspects of each type of food. Wet food is particularly delicious for cats, offering vital nutrients and helping promote a high fluid intake for healthy kidneys and urinary tract. A single 100g pouch of wet food can meet half of your cat's daily fluid needs! Dry food satisfies natural feline behaviour, allowing it to eat small portions throughout the day. It helps support dental and gum health, as well as containing a high concentration of nutrients such as protein and fibre. Numerous studies have shown that feeding your cat a combination of wet and dry food can support your cat's nature and its health!

He hated it
I should clarify that my cat is a very fussy eater. He's very food motivated, and when he finds a food he likes, he won't stop demanding more. I'm sure most cats enjoy this just fine, but my little Biscuit hated it, and I'm reviewing on his behalf.

Good quality food
My cat loves this food! she has refused to eat many dry food types in the recent years, so I only bought a small bag to try it out and luckily she loves it and it doesn't make her sick, as due to older age she became very sensitive.

Well received
I have 3 cats, 2 of them over 12 years old. All 3 cats really like this food. Even after several purchases it is well received.

Well liked by cats, meat content low.
My cat really enjoys this food, but I was disappointed to see the first ingredient is wheat gluten, which is poor considering the price of the food. I have since switched to Smilla which is much cheaper and I provide joint supplements separately.

Great for a gummy bear
Bought these for an old cat who's had to have most of her teeth removed due to gum issues. Whilst she can get a bit faddy with wet food she always goes for this and looks great on it.

Excellent..
I bought this food when my twelve year old cat's usual dried food was unavailable. Excellent. He eats the entire bowl, his coat is glossier, he has more energy, I think he's put some weight on even though he's now sharing a house with 3 other cats. He has had urinary issues in the past and the vet has also endorsed Royal Canin. I feed a combination of the RC and wet food plus water.

10 cats love it!!!!
My 8 plus two waifs and strays, love this food. I’ve been using it for about two years. Ideal for older cats and keeps kidneys, teeth and coat healthier. I don’t mind paying more when I know the quality is good *****

Popular with my cat but they should be smaller!
My cat loves this kibble and she wolfs it down, but I’m lucky that at 15 she still has all her teeth and they’re in good shape. These kibble pieces are BIG! Considering these are made for older cats, many of whom have missing teeth, they really need to be smaller.

Literally hoovered up
Both kitties love these. I'm soooo glad I've found something they both enjoy (and one is a very fussy eater). I can't comment on how good they are for the cats teeth, but they have no trouble eating them.

The kibbles are too big
My cats are older and had to have quite a few teeth removed. They were struggling with the large size of these kibbles. The kibbles seem to smell nice and my cats attempted to eat them but they kept choking on them. Since this is a product meant for older cats who likely have some problems with their teeth I don't understand why the kibbles are not made a lot smaller.

Excellent for older cats
I buy this regularly for my 13 yr old fussy, pampered puss. She loves it. My six young cats also like it more than Dreamies, so I give them a little as treats. I find I can't go wrong buying Royal Canin and I use a lot of the range, but this Senior food I highly recommend for an older cat.

My girls love these
I have one furbabe who has had 16 teeth out (so far). I mix these with 2 other smaller shaped Royal canin to give both of them choice & they love them. Yes, I’d agree with one of the other reviewers that it’s probably because they are parcel shaped just like Dreamies x

5 cats LOVE this (and only one of them is 12+)
All 5 of my rescue cats love this - I think the texture must be similar to Dreamies, as they turn their noses up when I give them anything else now. Only one of the 5 is over 12, and he eats anything anyway, but even the fussy ones can't get enough of this.

My cat not even fussy, but.....
My cat is not normally fussy however with Royal Canin 12+ he doesn't want to eat it. He rather eat Royal Canin sensitive than this. But unfortunately due to his grand old age of 20 he needs to be on this food.
