Unfortunately as others have found without a swivel of some sort or a different line, The New Cat Dangler tangles far too easily, the old design worked.

Our cat loves this wand, but the feathers break quickly. That's why only 4 instead of 5 stars.

I've ordered quite a few of these fishing rods over the years, but this will probably be the last time. In the past, the feathers used to fly beautifully, spin around, and make sounds. Now, instead of the chain with a joint for attachment, there's a plastic carabiner without a joint. The result: the feathers no longer fly well. When they spin, the line gets completely twisted, and after every few swings, you have to untangle the line again. Such a shame!

Overall, a great toy, the cat always loves it. BUT: Due to the feather play, the string keeps twisting, becoming more and more tangled and messy. They should incorporate some kind of swivel (see fishing accessories)!

Until about a year ago, the cat wand had a cheap metal connection to the feather cap. It was reasonably stable and never twisted. Then it was switched to a plastic hook, which, due to its shape, causes the cord to constantly twist. After waving the wand once or twice, the cord already starts twisting until shortly after, it’s reduced to just 10-15cm in length, and you have to "untwist" it. This means you spend 80% of the time not playing.

Please go back to the old design, yes it wasn't 100% Purfect, but it worked & it worked great. I was willing to keep buying when it broke because my cats loved it so much. This one is completely un-usable as it tangles all the time, every time! No one else makes anything close to this. This new design DOES NOT WORK! It needs the original metal (or even plastic) beads, as it's this that allows the feather to spin in the air without tangling as soon as its waved in the air.

Cat wands don’t last very long with us, but at least a month usually. This cat wand lasted an hour… And my cats probably even ate the string, which, by the way, is ridiculously long.

I have to say, my cat loves it, but the string is a bit annoying. It's too thin, so it twists together quickly and takes a while to be ready for use again.

My cat loves the wand toy, and the feathers immediately caught his attention. However, we only used the wand for two days, and the string has already snapped! Our cat chews on it when he plays, but we’ve only used the wand about four times in those two days, and the chewing was brief each time! Additionally, the string twists when swinging it back and forth, making it shorter and shorter. I’d rather invest in a slightly more expensive wand toy... A different type of string would be better.

My rather lazy cat LOVES this wand and goes absolutely wild with it. The stick is very long and has great springiness, which makes it perfect for playing even over larger distances :-) Better than some of those "expensive" toys!

My two British Shorthair cats love it. I’m always happy to order it again.

Our tomcat loves the fishing rod and really jumps after it. It’s a great way for him to burn off energy and means he doesn’t have to chase real birds :P I’ve now ordered the XXL version.

The fishing rod was always the favourite toy. Unfortunately, you can’t really play with it anymore because the quality has deteriorated so much, and all you do now is unravel the "line". It doesn’t fly anymore.

Cat dangler toy has long been a favourite with all our cats. Hugely disappointed that re-design means that, after just a few seconds of play, the string becomes a tangled mess and you have to stop and disentangle it. Hoping the manufacturers will revert to original design with metal swivel as the new version is no use at all for our lively and impatient Bengal.

As others who are annoyed with me have already written, the fishing rod used to be a hit back in the day. I was annoyed at myself for buying this telescopic rod for €19.99, but now – no, no, no, I don’t even think it’s the new mounting; even the line itself is cheaper. Sometimes it lasted for 2-3 minutes, but getting it wet doesn’t really help either. And my two always look at me when I have to untangle this rubbish again, as if they’re thinking – now he’s playing with it :(

This used to be one of my cats favourite toys. I ordered more (as feathers wear out quickly) & didn't realise that the attachment design had changed. This affects the way the feathers move, they used to swoop in a bird flying motion, the new design just flops about & tangles. Please zooplus go back to the old design as this one is awful!

Unfortunately, the product has been changed in terms of the spring attachment... Such a shame, it used to fly much better and didn’t constantly get tangled.

If you enjoy untangling strings, go for it – everyone else, hands off. The cats absolutely love it, but I lose interest when I have to untangle the string after just five seconds... Please make it like it used to be again.

Unfortunately, the quality has declined. The attachment to the cord is poorly designed and creates more work untying knots than anything else. What a shame.
