This has always been my cat’s favourite toy. The new design, with the clip-on feathers, couldn’t have had much testing because it just doesn’t work. Not only does it get tangled more easily, but the line also bunches up and becomes half the length. Please bring back the old design!

This is a very long, light feather toy made with a composite material that reminds me (frankly) of a car aerial – it's very flexible and easily manipulated. As others mention, the string is prone to getting tangled and does form knots occasionally. However, my cat (a ragdoll) _bloody loves it_. I get chirrupy meow noises periodically and have to play with him until he's contented, eats, and sleeps. Often I run out of energy before he does. It's a light, simple toy and flies through the air well.

The boys love this new toy, even my timid shy boy is flying out of nowhere to join his brothers to play but damn that string! It’s so so annoying it keeps getting tangled and I have to sit straightening out whilst they impatiently wait to play 😭 will definitely have to look for an alternative of something similar as they love it so much!

A firm favourite with one of my cats, who has completely claimed the toy for herself and has been thrilled with it for weeks. The other one doesn’t find it *that* exciting, but still thinks it’s okay when she gets a turn.

I’ve ordered this fishing rod several times now because our cat loves it. Unfortunately, it seems the design or material has been changed. The string keeps curling up all the time now, making it completely unusable and no fun to play with anymore. Such a shame.

I bought many of these years ago. In Dec 22, I ordered one again, but unfortunately, the rod has been changed. For one, the connection piece to the spring is now plastic (and I think it will soon break from chewing), but the worst part is the string, which keeps tangling, so I’m constantly untangling it during play. Such a shame, I can’t recommend it anymore. In the past, I would have given it 5 stars.

It does get very tangled because it spins in the air. I solved this problem by using a fisherman's swivel to attach it. Works a treat now

I have bought this item for the last 8/9yrs. It is still the cats favourite toy, but their has been some changes, the feathers have got a little sparser,for some reason the string now seems to get more in a knot, so I’m constantly untangling it, this may have something to do with replacing the metal beading to plastic ( which is a good thing ) this means I have to keep buying new ones

Unfortunately, something has been changed about the product. It used to be good, but now it's really bad. The nylon strap curls up, causing the spring to hang directly at the top of the rod. You then have to painstakingly untangle it again. Additionally, the spring's fitting has been changed. Previously, it had a ball chain, now it's a plastic loop. Sadly, this is no longer enjoyable for either humans or animals. I won’t be buying it again—such a shame!

Not as good as the old version – the cord keeps twisting around the axis, and the spring head is far too heavy. The cats lose interest in chasing after it quite quickly. I’ll buy it again when the original version is available for purchase.

Unfortunately, the line keeps curling up because it was previously wrapped around the rod, making the fishing rod not really usable. Such a shame.

You can no longer use this since the new design of the pendant (plastic carabiner). The weight of the chain is missing, as we were used to in the past. It doesn’t fly as well, constantly falls to the ground. Not recommended for purchase.

The old version had a small chain at the bottom that prevented the cord from twisting. The new version has a rubber loop and a plastic hook at the bottom. Now the cord twists so much that you have to be careful it doesn’t wrap around the cat’s limbs or neck, causing it to panic and injure itself. Therefore, it’s useless and, unfortunately, destined for the bin.

Unfortunately, this product has been redesigned, and the new version is useless. The band keeps twisting all the time, and neither I nor the cat enjoy having to stop the game every now and then. Really a shame because the old product was amazing!

I have the same problem: I've been using this fishing rod for years because it's my cats' favourite toy, and it always worked great until now. But the new version with the plastic carabiner twists so much that you constantly have to readjust it :( Thanks for the great tip from Bettina (1 review below me) 😊👍🏼 Now it works perfectly again and doesn't twist anymore!

Unfortunately, the fishing rod didn't survive the first play session. After 15 minutes, only one feather was left; the others had slipped out, not broken off. Such a shame.

With a SWIVEL FROM THE FISHING SUPPLIES, the spinner rotates without twisting the string. Costs only a few cents. Make sure to choose a lightweight one. They’re also available with a clip (then remove the plastic carabiner). And playing becomes fun again, without interruptions... 😸 Unfortunately, with the new version, the string twists around itself and the stick within seconds of play, becoming very short and unplayable. Simply because a SWIVEL is missing. Better to spend a bit more for something playable.

I’ve been happily buying this fishing rod for years. However, the suspension has now been changed. Instead of the ball chain, there’s now a small plastic carabiner attached. This prevents the spring from rotating freely around its own axis during play. The result is a completely tangled and knotted cord, which makes further play impossible. Additionally, the feathers smell strongly of chemicals.

Very high quality at a low price. The rod is indestructible, the plug connection doesn’t come apart at all. The springs are super sturdy! My cat goes absolutely wild when I pick it up; he can really let his instincts run free.
