Popular with my pets
I use this sand for breeding my racing mice.
I’ve heard that chinchillas supposedly don’t like it as much, but I can’t say anything about that. My racing mice love it like no other. The adults bathe in nothing else; they only use the "fancy super sand" as a toilet at best, and some types even get immediately scratched away.
The sand is very fine and makes their fur look beautiful. However, I think it might not be very practical for terrarium users, especially because of its fineness. You might run into problems if it gets stuck in the sliding doors.
And since my mice end up using it as a toilet after thoroughly bathing in it anyway, the price-performance ratio is very important to me, especially when a bowl of sand ends up in the bin every two days!
In terms of this ratio, this sand beats everything else, as I’ve explained. My mice love it, and it makes their fur shiny and beautiful.

I am satisfied.
The sand is very fine. Doesn’t smell at all (even though I have three gerbils). A tip for everyone who says the sand smells: just replace it more often or, like I do, sift it every 1 to 2 days. That way it doesn’t smell. ;-)

With a clear conscience
I spent quite a while researching bath sand for my gerbils that isn’t suspected of being carcinogenic. With this sand, I’ve found the perfect alternative, and it even comes in this large economy bag – perfect!
And the bag has never been damaged either.

Quartz sand is NOT suitable for chinchillas.
You must not use quartz sand for chinchillas! Only attapulgite (and Blue Cloud). Chinchillas can even develop severe fur problems (I had to shave one of my chinchillas because of this, and their skin becomes really sore). If you look it up online, you’ll hear this repeatedly!

Absolutely brilliant!
My gerbils go absolutely crazy for the sand! It doesn’t smell or anything like that, and it’s super fine. I’ll definitely keep ordering it from here :-)

Perfect for dwarf hamsters
My four dwarf hamsters all use this sand in their baths, and their fur is in good condition, with the baths being regularly and thoroughly used. Only with my male striped hamster does an unpleasant smell occasionally come from the sand bath, as the little guy uses it extensively as a toilet – but thanks to the great price, regular replacement is no problem at all.

Not recommended...
My two gerbils do enjoy using the sand for bathing and as a toilet, but it develops a sharp, unpleasant odour. Normally, I don’t smell anything from the gerbils, but ever since I started using this sand, a biting smell hits me after just one day. I change the sand every day, but it doesn’t help much. It’s still quite decent for their fur – it’s just the smell that really bothers me. Such a shame... I’ll be using a different sand in the future.

Great for gerbils + affordable!
This sand is absolutely perfect for gerbils and also pretty much the cheapest you can get! My gerbils have lovely shiny fur, and I don’t think the sand starts to smell quickly. I change it every two days, and there’s no odour in the terrarium. Highly recommended!

Quality of the sand is good, but...
The packaging is terrible!
I received a completely torn box, with sand already spilling out from the bottom.
The "sand bags" all had small holes, which you don't notice at first, but as soon as you carry the bag somewhere, you end up with sand all over your home!
All of this could be "avoided" if the sand were simply delivered in small buckets...
I don't think this sand is suitable for chinchillas. For gerbils, it can be used.
That's my opinion, and that's why I'm only giving 3 stars.

As a flooring material, it's OK.
Quartz sand is not well-suited for a sand bath because it doesn't absorb enough.
However, as a flooring material, this sand is good and affordable. So far, I haven't noticed any injuries, presumably because the sand—like bath sand should be—is rounded.
At the moment, I'm mixing it with JR sand for better cleaning effectiveness. This way, I have an affordable substrate (filling a terrarium with attapulgite would be quite expensive) where my gerbils can dig well and keep their fur grease-free. (And the smell of the JR sand isn't as bothersome anymore...)

The hamster doesn't like the sand.
I wanted to use the sand for my hamster Janosch to bathe in, but he absolutely doesn’t like it. No matter what I do, as soon as I put him in, he darts straight back out. Every now and then he pees in it, but other than that, the purchase was a waste...

Not so great
I bought the sand for my degus and I don’t like it!!! It’s super dusty, smells bad, and clumps quickly. Next time, back to JR Farm!!!

Not suitable for chinchillas
Chinchillas must not have quartz sand!!! This is really important because that sand damages their fur!
Please only use genuine Attapulgus sand for chinchillas, which can be identified using the water droplet test ;-)

Supersand!!
I bought the sand, and it was delivered to me ***AFTER 2 DAYS***. That too without any issues. My gerbils also think the sand is fantastic. SO, GET YOURSELF THIS SUPER-FINE SAND!!!
