Probably varies by batch.
Unfortunately, I ended up with a batch that doesn’t clump, everything falls apart, and it reeks terribly after 3 days. It used to be the best, but sadly not anymore.

It's changed for the worse
I have used this stuff for pretty much all of my cat's life (she's 15 years now) but the last 2 or 3 orders, they must have changed the composition of the product, but it doesn't matter whether it's the normal cheap one or the more expensive pellets, they don't absorb the pee anymore. So whenever I check the cat ltoilet, there are always pee puddles. Before my cat would pee and it would all get absorbed and clump. So I stopped buying this product altogether. Such a shame.

Decline in quality
The large bag used to last 2 months, but now it barely lasts 5 weeks, which amounts to a price increase of almost 50%. After a case of feline diabetes, I always note the date on the bag when I open it – and I’m certain the cat is healthy, but this time it’s the litter that absorbs less and no longer forms clumps. Such a shame, I’ve been using this litter for 10 years and was happy with it. Maybe it’s time for me to look for an alternative.

Not recommended
Such a shame that it's no longer good.
Unfortunately, the quality is very poor and it doesn't clump!

Avoid. Defo not cats best!!
Awful. Spreads through the house too easily on little paws. Does not mask urine smell. It clumps, but falls apart on contact. Waste of money.

Used to be good :-(
Unfortunately, the hope that Cats Best might return to its original quality standard has not been fulfilled. It used to be the best litter until it started to become increasingly dusty while getting more expensive, and now we’re left with a wood-based litter that doesn’t even reliably form clumps (they crumble very easily and contaminate the base filling) and still produces dust. Others can now do a much better job for this price.

Best litter 👍
For our cats, the best litter – doesn’t create dust and is very economical. Clear recommendation!

The clumps don't hold.
The clumps fall apart when you take them out, and the litter is also very coarse.

Cat litter
Super absorbent, low-dust litter. What excites me even more is that it's odour-free and can be disposed of in the toilet.

The best
If you’re looking for a litter that eliminates the smell then this is it! It’s the best litter we’ve ever used

Great product
Easy to use, the clumping really helps to clean letter tray, happy with cat litter.

Finally relatively dust-free
With Cat's Best Original, the enormous dust development like with bentonite has finally come to an end! It hardly produces any dust at all, and the tomcats accepted it straight away. It doesn’t get carried out of the litter box any more than other litters, and I even find the odour control better than with bentonite. For cleaning, you’ll need a slightly coarser scoop or a bit of practice. But it’s worth it!

Great cat litter
For over 30 years, we've lived with a cat. This litter is the best we've ever had. Highly recommended!

Disappointing change
I have used this for years and couldn't fault it, but the most recent bag very I bought is different.. The grains seem generally smaller , and it becomes very sticky when wet and sticks to the sides of the tray, paws, everything. But even worse is the amount of fine dust it now contains. . My cat leaves the tray with all his paws covered in it and I worry about him ingesting it when he washes it off and whether it could harm him over time.

Shame
This used to be our absolute favourite litter; it USED to be perfect for odour and waste binding. Now, it's mediocre at odour control and poor at binding waste. Over the last few bags, the quality has drastically declined, and it even looks completely different. Such a shame, it's no longer the best for cats.

Quality has declined
I’ve had cats for 20 years, but I’ve never had litter this bad! Clearly, something has changed. It doesn’t clump but falls apart when you try to dispose of it. It practically dissolves at the bottom of the litter tray. The colour of the litter is darker, almost grey. My cats don’t like it and are peeing outside the tray. That’s never happened before. We used to have the litter from Greenwoods, but that’s also gone downhill. Now it’s back to searching again.

Used to be the best but TERRIBLE now.
I’m furious they changed their formula & it’s unusable now. It’s always been bad at tracking but I forgave that because it was so good at everything else. It’s not even useable. Furious. I buy very large bags so a total waste of A LOT of money!! The litter no longer absorbs, clumps or maintains freshness. DO NOT BUY: I’m furious as I was so content for so many years & now out of the blue have had to start testing out cat litters: nightmare! Very Unsettling for my cats!!!

Decline in quality
I have to agree as well. I've been using Cat's Best for 5 years and was always very satisfied, but for the past few months, I've also noticed that the quality has been leaving much to be desired. The litter has not only changed from light to dark, but it no longer clumps like it used to, so even with care when cleaning, it can't be removed in one solid clump anymore. Everything gets messy quickly, and it has to be completely changed every other day. Definitely too expensive for that!!

No odours
Clumpy top. Put the lumps in a paper bag, paper bag in the organic waste bin. That’s how I imagine it, brilliant. And there’s absolutely no smell in the house. Wow
