Draughty
Had this fitted by a professional and there is a gap around the flap which I can see daylight through. It's only a couple of mm but it means it doesn't have to be particularly windy for there to be a draft. Very disappointing.

Happy Cats :)
This is the best product on the market and the Customer Service is excellent. Have had a few minor probs and they have rectified everyone free of charge. I have a very nervous cat and she is happy to sit by the flap watching outside knowing that a big stray tabby can't get in. I almost think she looks smugly at him sometimes. My other confident one goes in and out all the time but think she likes the reassurance of that click as it locks behind her. I am just about to fit another flap. They are easy to put in too. You won't be disappointed.

Cat and owner happy
Has worked well and reliably for years. The batteries last for approx. 2 years and if the warning LED starts to flash, it will continue to work for a few months. Just great.

Am thrilled
Had the cat flap installed on Saturday 23.2.16 - was a normal one beforehand - our cat took 20 minutes - the flap was already activated. Our girl goes outside all day at regular intervals - foreign animals are history now. Let's see how it will be in a few weeks - especially since many buyers complain about the short life.

Superb
The locking wheel prong broke which enabled any cat to come so the first night I had to sellotape the door shut. I emailed Sureflap that evening & got an automated reply. It didn't stop there cos I got another email the next morning asking me for serial no and address & they were going to send replacement free. Sure enough, the next day I received it in the post. Wow! Never had such good service, excellent. I've been very pleased with cat flap, does exactly what it says on the 'tin.'

Can't recommend it more!
Got it 6 months ago. Was easy to install and never failed. Even when my cat has a fight and is chased after by the neighbors cats right behind her, they are instantly blocked outside.Great! It also makes a locking click noise (discrete) that tells me when she comes back into the house too which I like. Don't listen to the bad reviews, of course it happens to be unlucky and get the odd faulty one. I was a bit worried when I read them but I've obviously got a great working one.

Great unit, great customer support
We have had our sure flap for about two years. Before that we had a petporte but it just never seemed to work properly. The sure flap works unflinchingly and has done since installation. Our cats trust this one.. I thoroughly recommend sure flap. Also their customer support is nothing short of superb.

Very happy with our Cat Flap
This Cat Flap detects his microchip in his neck & the dial is easy to understand. It took our Caesar 24 hrs to get used to it. Disappointed that the extra collars come at an additional cost; it doesn't come in the box!
I ordered the additional part to have it fitted in our double glazed door & for a fee of £160 our local glazing company had our glass cut and it fitted within 2 weeks.
I should have ordered the one with the auto timer to save getting up to change the dial, but I am happy.

Great piece
Even for my Norwegian forest cat with a weight of approx. 5.5 kg, it is an ideal entry/exit. The battery-life lasts more than half a year. There have been no malfunctions for 3 years now. I can only recommend this flap.

A little disappointed
I bought the sureflap for my cars as we were having issues with a neighbours cat coming in the house, only problem now is my cats won't come in the house! All three of them are terrified of the loud nose the cat flap makes when it reads the microchip and unlocks. I'm now having to open the front door to let them in as the won't even go near it. We tried slowly getting the used to the noise by keeping the flap open with the lock on so they could just run through but no luck! So I guess it does work, keeps all cats out. Considering the cost feel I've wasted my money.

Very good but not for big cats
This is a very good product but do note the size of the opening. Our cat is medium sized and fits through well but not a lot of room to spare. Following the fitting instruction about placement helps, belly height. We only have the one cat so expect the batteries to last for many months. Very good but not for big cats.

Brilliant product
I have 2 large cats, the pet door is the perfect size. We've been having a neighbourhood cat coming in and spraying all over the house and making my cats very nervy and jumpy, since fitting this new door I am delighted to say that my house no longer smells of cat pee and both my cats now use the flap with no problems, after one of them being scared by the loud clicking sound initially after a few days he was fine. We'll worth every penny!

Too small for a medium sized cat
Works well with my cat's microchip, however it looks uncomfortable for my cat to use due to it's small size. My cat is a medium sized ragdoll and he struggles to exit, and hasn't managed to gain entry back into the house unassisted. Really wish I got the larger size.

Perfect. Simple to set up, simple to use. Love it!
This cat flap really is fab! I was worried about putting a hole in the door but the instructions are spot on and it was very easy to fit.
It still fascinates me each time our cat comes in using it. I taught him to use it within minutes by encouraging him to go through with his fave treat before we actually fitted it. Then used the manual mode twice before putting in the batteries. Worked a treat! Thank you so much for such a great product!

Works well
We have had the SureFlap microchip cat flap for three months now and are enthusiastic about its perfect function. We found it very pleasant that the dimensions fit exactly into the sawn-out hole of the previous simple mechanical flap (from the Catmate company). No additional sawing necessary, just a little straight filing. Since this flap is also available in brown, it is hardly noticeable in our door, even looks very chic and seals better than the simple flap that was previously installed (there were a few small draft vents, that you can't find with the SureFlap). Our two cats had no problems with the mechanism, but of course they were already used to using a flap. For the first few days, the click sound that occurs as soon as the door unlocks after registering the chip has caused some irritation in our cats, but it subsided very quickly. Everything works fine. Neighbouring cats stay outside :) And the additional mechanical functions for individual settings are easy to use. So our cats have to stay in the house at night because we close the hatch in the evening.

Sure flap is it the cat or the cat flap
I have a one year old Tom cat and we have only just purchased this flap, had it installed in an aluminium door by professional installers. When in learning mode the red led flashes once per second, the cat has gone out/in as we leave the rotary selector for both ways. As the cat goes out the led repetitions increase, I presume that the reason for this is that the flap has picked up the cats micro chip. I then push the button once, this brings the lock up allowing the cat to go out, but only come in if the chip on the cat is sensed, opening the lock and allowing the cat entry. However I can never tell if it's working properly as when I get up the cat is out and cannot seem to get back in or isn't trying very hard. He passes through the flap both ways in learning mode but that leaves the flap open to other cats as well. I have reset the system several times now with no success. Still not sure if it's the cats chip or the cat flap or just me the operator.
