Disappointing.
After 3 years 10 months the batteries were lasting only a couple of days at a time. This was in spite of keeping the tunnel clean, the brushes hair free and the sensors clean. Guarantee only lasts 3 years. SureFlap told me to buy a new one! They gave me a voucher but Zooplus is cheaper.

bad with doors containing metal
Metal will cause it not to read your pet´s chip mainly from outside to inside meaning they get stuck outside. If you have even as little as 1 mm thick metal in your door be prepared to cut a huge hole to get this to work.
Also, the weather proofing on the swinging flap itself barely protrudes from the flap. I suppose this is to ensure the flap has no friction. Not good for the winters as cold air pours in around the flap.
Better weather proofing and RFID sensor would make this 5 stars.

Eats batteries
Very disappointed. It worked at first but now we have to change the Duracell batteries EVERY WEEK! Poor cat has been locked out all night on several occasions. Just cannot work out why it eats batteries so quickly. It was fine at first. We are even down to one cat since the summer and he sleeps all day too. Wish they'd made it dual function i e take the batteries out and it becomes a conventional cat flap but it doesn't.

Good idea but bad design
Just installed the dual flap... the opening is too small,,, our cats are quite big and they struggle to get through,, just. Our problem is one cat gets in and out ok, th other can't ,, its as if the sensors to get back in are too far back in the tunnel and should be nearer the front to allow the chip which is intheir collar to be read. After cutting more of my door away and fitting their window bracket, I still have same problem,,, cats can get out but not back in,,,useless for me now ..

Its OK. Quite Small and doesnt unlock very fast.
The Catflap is OK, its a bit small. Fine for my kittens at the moment, but give it a year and we will have to buy a bigger one.
Recently, our cats have been given freedom of the outdoors. However, this has obviously resulted in some territorial issues. On more than one occasion now, we hear a huge bang on the backdoor, and its our kittens getting chased back to the house and headbutting the catflap due to it now unlocking, and has resulted in one of our kittens getting attacked and cut face

Draughty
Had this fitted by a professional and there is a gap around the flap which I can see daylight through. It's only a couple of mm but it means it doesn't have to be particularly windy for there to be a draft. Very disappointing.

Too small for a medium sized cat
Works well with my cat's microchip, however it looks uncomfortable for my cat to use due to it's small size. My cat is a medium sized ragdoll and he struggles to exit, and hasn't managed to gain entry back into the house unassisted. Really wish I got the larger size.

Worked wonderfully for about 3 months. On the second battery change it stopped recognizing my cats and needed to be reprogrammed. That's not supposed to happen. On the bright side, Sureflap is standing behind their product and sending another one for free.

Hasn't lasted well
After around two years, the electronics in this have stopped working and the flap was locked shut for cats coming in - including ours. They could get out all right but not get back. I've had to use duct tape to override the catch.
Also, the fiddly little manual lock can be knocked by cat paws and they have managed to set it to "out only" more than once.
I'm now looking at Pet Porte reviews to replace this flap.
