Feeding guide

Feeding recommendations:

Royal Canin Ageing 12+ in Jelly is a complete food for cats.

Weight of cat Pouches fed per day
3kg 2
4kg 2 3/4
5kg 3
6kg 3 1/2

These guidelines are based on a diet of exclusively wet food. If your cat has a combined diet of wet and dry food, please adjust the feeding amounts accordingly.

Changing from one food to another should be done gradually so your cat's intestinal flora has sufficient time to adapt to a new food. Over 7 days, mix Royal Canin wet food in gradually increasing proportions into your cat's existing diet. This gradual adaptation lowers the risk of diarrhoea. Excessive food intake may also cause digestive problems.

Please note that these are guidelines only. Actual feeding amounts should be adjusted according to your cat's age, activity levels and circumstances. Monitor your cat's weight and adjust feeding amounts as required. Daily amounts should be offered spread over two portions a day. Fresh water should be provided at all times.

Food
My older cat loves these in jelly and gravy and they are cheap to buy.

Disappointed
My 14-year old fussy female loves the gravy version of this food and it improves her agility. However for some strange reason, she won't eat it with jelly. Recommend to other cat-owners, try small pack first.

Very happy cat
Smartie is 15 and really enjoys this food. In fact she manages to get three sachets (or more if possible!) a day. The dogs sit outside the door waiting for left overs, they should know by now Smartie leaves nothing! Great product. Our pets love the Rpyal Canin range.

They are most excited about this food!
At last I've found a quality food for our two kitties. They were rescued at 6 months and after a year I still felt 1 was a little undernourished. I chose this Royal Canin Kitten Instinctive with Gravy and they could not believe their luck. They are looking far pouffier and fluffier fur wise with nice soft shiny coats and bright eyes. The 1 who was on the thinner side is now looking far less scrawny!! I don't feel dry food alone was suiting them. I feel this is reasonably priced and I only give 1 quarter of pouch each of this twice a day so 1 pouch a day between 2 of them is enough to satisfy their hunger alongside the delicious Royal Canin biscuits. This brand is amazing - they sniff at other brands even the other "posher" kinds!! Do give this a try for your cats/kittens - you won't regret it!

No waste
I have two cats and my Oriental is a very fussy eater. She likes to lick the jelly or gravy and leave the chunks, which usually results in lots of wasted, dried-up meat. With this Royal Canin food she eats the lot, so although it is expensive it is also good value for money.

very good
Our cat is a bit overweight and we tried Royal Canning ultra light to help her to go back to her normal self. She has an injury and is not very active. She loves this wet food and it keeps her full for a quite sometime compare to other foods. And she is losing weight now.

Current favourite
What can I say? I haven't tasted it, but the cat likes it - even more than the gravy version. From the human perspective, it doesn't have a strong odour so that's a big plus. (Although I'm sure she will eventually go off it, as she does with all foods, it's currently the favourite and hopefully it will hold the top spot as long as the gravy one did!)
