My kittens use it
While looking for a litter box that blends harmoniously into the home, I came across the Modkat.
Although my 12-week-old kittens weren’t familiar with something like this, they took to it well. However, you should use already-used litter for the initial filling.
One star deducted because I’ve only had the litter box for two days, so I can’t provide a long-term review.

Practical and space-saving
I've had this model for a few months now and I'm very satisfied. The height of the inlay is sufficient for my rather small cats, so nothing ends up outside even when they're standing, and it's also easy to clean.
Since I've been using it, there's noticeably less litter on the floor compared to litter boxes with a side entrance (even with an additional catch mat).

Still top-notch after 2 years! Easy to clean.
We bought this cat litter box almost 2 years ago because our dog kept emptying all the other litter boxes (yes, gross!).
Our two cats accepted the litter box straight away. It’s very easy to clean, and after 2 years, we’ve just replaced the insert for the first time.
One point deducted for the insert – it doesn’t go all the way up, and one of our cats figured out how to easily push it down. This allows her to pee past the edge.

Also convincing
After much deliberation, we finally decided to buy the Modkat for our little ones.
The system itself is not exactly the kind of quiet spot a cat would naturally choose.
However, from a human perspective—someone who likes a clean home and doesn’t want to look at a litter tray covered in mess—the Modkat litter box meets these criteria perfectly. Absolutely worth the money!
The scoop has its quirks in my opinion, but overall, the quality is excellent.

So far, the best cat litter box
Hello my dear cat friends,
First of all, I have to say that my two cats immediately accepted the toilet. At the beginning, they even played hide-and-seek in it :)
I’ve really tried every type of cat litter box you can imagine, but no litter box has released as little litter as this one. The idea of the cats jumping onto the grid is brilliant, but the execution isn’t always 100%. My cats sometimes just jump straight out. The box could be a bit bigger.

Good, but not perfect
Unfortunately, this litter box (like all the others) isn’t perfect.
Advantages compared to hooded litter boxes:
- Litter can no longer be scratched out from the entrance
- Also well-suited for "stand-up pee-ers"
- If placed freely, less litter gets spread around the flat
Disadvantages:
- Inserts wear out (quite expensive), and without them, it gets scratched
- If placed next to something, our cat sometimes jumps directly onto it and spreads litter there
- It’s hard to reach the rounded corners with a litter scoop

Classy! But spare parts?
The toilet is fantastic!
My ladies took to it straight away and use it more than any of the other toilets. On top of that, I find it very stylish in appearance.
The included scoop is great for fine clumping litter.
Additionally, last week my ladies (none of them over 4kg) managed to jump onto the lid in such a way that one of the plastic brackets got bent. It’s still holding up, but I’d really like to be able to buy the lid (as well as the scoop) separately.

Visually great, practically meh...
I use clumping litter and pour a 14kg bag into the toilet. Due to the smooth surface of the toilet and the 14kg weight, the litter can only be emptied into a bag with two people, as the material of the toilet is very smooth and it only has one hole around the edge where you can grab it with your hand. Otherwise, it slips when you try to tip the thing into a bag.
Therefore, 1 point deducted!

Stylish, practical, favourite toilet
Initially, I hesitated because of the price, even while the toilet was on offer. In the end, though, the prospect of a litter-free home made it worth it for me. I unpacked, filled, and set up this cat litter box a few steps away from the old toilet and briefly showed it to my cats. The next day, I noticed that they were only using this one. The flat isn’t completely litter-free yet, but there’s definitely a positive effect.

Modkat immediately accepted!
My two cats had been used to a corner toilet with a swinging door for the past three months and scattered quite a lot of litter (we tried various types) around the flat despite using a "mat". The Modkat was accepted immediately. Whether less litter ends up being spread around the flat ultimately depends on the type of litter used, so I can't give a definitive assessment on that. The litter scoop that comes with the MODKAT, in my opinion, is too "bulky"....

Has lasted for 8 years!
The lid has suffered a bit, but it still holds, even though the large bracket has broken off. Otherwise, the toilet is almost like new! My three-legged tomcat loves it because he can hop in and out more easily. However, it really is too small! Small cats and, of course, my three-legged one manage just fine! Since it will probably never break, the price is justified! Otherwise, I use very large plastic storage boxes (in black) from a Swedish furniture store! :)

Super!!
Super cat litter box!
The quality is spot on. My cats took to it straight away. A lot less litter gets scattered outside.
One star deducted due to the extremely high price.

Arrived safely for the cat.
Over the years, I’ve tried various cat litter boxes, and cats are quick to let you know what they don’t like. It wasn’t love at first sight with Modkat, but it worked out in the end without the lid. Easy to clean, and with the replacement liner, it’s ready to use again even faster. The only question is what to do when the tomcat becomes less agile and struggles to hop in and out. I’d also like to see different sizes (wider, longer) and weight specifications for older cat owners regarding cleaning.

Only ModKat from now on
Actually, I wanted to order my third Modkat, but unfortunately, I’ve now realised that Zooplus has discontinued it. Such a shame... I currently own two, and it’s the only model that’s truly leak-proof for vertical sprayers and also accepted by both of my cats. I’ve got two Modkat fanatics here. I’ve been using it for years. The one-star deduction is because no replacement lids or scoops are offered. Both of my lids broke after just under a year, and I had to buy replacements elsewhere for a lot of money. I don’t need the blue liner as it’s pointless for wall sprayers. It works just fine without it, and the plastic holds up well. But now it doesn’t matter anymore—I’ve ordered my third one from somewhere else.

great product but too expensive!
Like many other customers, I was really reluctant to spend over 100 quid on a cat loo - but this is such a great product that it's almost worth it! I still think the price tag is way too high, but the ModKat is very well designed and it really does work as described.
My two cats are both pretty fussy about their loo, and their first reaction to the ModKat was to scowl and walk away. Big tabby cracked first - she hates doing her business outside, so she sidled up to the ModKat, gave it a thorough sniff, and got in. Little black cat took about a week to warm to it - she used one of my flowerbeds in the interim - but now both cats have completely accepted the ModKat, and very glad I am.
It's a much more elegant solution than any other litter box. I'm moving into a new property that doesn't have a utility room and I wasn't looking forward to having an ugly plastic cat loo on show. The ModKat is not small, but it's as elegant as a cat toilet can possibly be, and the screen keeps about 90% of the litter from clinging to their paws and winding up on the floor. At most there are a few crumbs to sweep up after the cats finish up and exit.
I'd been used to putting a very small amount of litter in the old litter try, and dumping it regularly, but you really do need to put a good 2" depth of litter in the ModKat. The liner is seamed, and if the litter gets too shallow, it is possible for some liquid to seep through the liner into the box itself. This isn't a huge issue, as the ModKat is very easy to clean, and surprisingly, it doesn't actually mean that you use loads more litter - the fact that the liner is flexible means that clumps of used litter come away intact without contaminating the clean litter. I remove solids and soiled clumps once a day, then replace all the litter and clean the box about once every week to ten days and have had no problems with odour at all. My only worry is that my cats, who love to dig in their litter box, will rip the liner, but so far that hasn't happened.
All in all I'm delighted with the ModKat - it gets five stars for performance, but I'm only giving it four stars as I really do think they could bring the price down :)

Modkat
We’ve now purchased our 5th Modkat (for 4 cats) and are still very satisfied. No litter outside the litter box, and the design is simply unbeatable! One star deducted because it was only available in black and white, no spare parts (lid, scoop) are offered, and the price is still very high despite the discount.

Best litter box for looks and use!
With 5 house-cats (with the added access to the garden which has cat-proof fencing so they cannot get out & come to harm). We have 3 hooded litter-boxes in the garden. However, one of our little babies is very attached to us & does not like being around the others over night. She likes to sleep with us, or on the landing with our bedroom door left a jar so she come in & go out as she pleases. However, with no litter-box for her to relieve herself over night, there has been one of two..or three, accidents before now. Even though she is generally very good - we put her out in the garden to go for a last toilet-stop before she comes up with us - at times,as you know, nature calls at odd times!
So, I decided to bite-the-bullet and buy her a litter-box to put in the bathroom for her to use over night. Every litter-box is designed to look so ugly and so when I saw the 'Modkat' I was wowed! My first thoughts were "That looks really cool for a cat-toilet", my second was....."How much?"...
I began reading every review on-line I could find, until I was convinced that this was a worthwhile purchase & a justifiable one. So, I ordered it from 'Zooplus' at £114, & it arrived yesterday (3 days in all & that was over the weekend, and coming from Germany - I think!). I set it up in seconds, placed it in the bathroom & poured about 2 litres of Catsan in it. I left it and waited.
On a visit to the bathroom last night I stopped and sniffed ,& as I walked in I thought...."Humm.......".......Martha was sat there looking very pleased with herself and the evidence was in the box! :) She used it first time, no quibbles and I was able to deposit her 'deposit' straight down our toilet....how easy is that!! I love how it fits in with modern decor and doesn't look like a cat litter-box, but you obviously soon work out it is ;) It is actually a talking point, as I heard one of our guests use the loo and say ..."Wow", as he walked in. This is seriously i-products for cats! ^~^
The only real downside for me is the blue liner, why blue??? They have designed something very classy & minimalistic & then tarnish it by putting a blue liner in, which looks like a fish pond-liner!
Now, is this worth the money?
The construction of the 'Modkat' is of high quality & looks very cool- this is an i-product for cats :D
The height & width (although could be slightly wider to give kitty a more comfortable manoeuvre experience) is ample enough & it's size enables it to fit neatly into a confined space.
The top entry is big enough for kitty to ease in & out comfortably.
The holes in the top are very good for trapping any litter left on kitty's feet & it drops back in, or you can brush it back in using the brush on the side of the scoop. So yes, no tracking of litter!
It is so easy to clean.
The reusable liner is strong & durable & easy to lift in & out for cleaning.

Modern cat litter box with small hooks
I spent a long time looking for a litter box that meets the needs of my two (medium-sized) cats. My tomcat loves to dig a lot, and the litter was regularly scattered all over the apartment.
I hesitated for a long time about whether to order the Modkat, as the price is VERY high.
I eventually ordered it, and it arrived the very next day (a solid 10 points to ZOOPLUS).
My cats accepted it very quickly as well.
ADVANTAGES:
- Hardly any litter scattered around the apartment anymore,
- Visually a treat,
- The liner is quite durable,
- Easy to clean,
- The included scoop can be hung on the litter box.
DISADVANTAGES:
- The high price,
- The liner is a bit too low for my high-peeing cat,
- The liner partially lets urine through,
- The holes in the included scoop are too large (small clumps of faeces fall through again).
CONCLUSION:
- A very beautiful and solid litter box,
- The price is a bit off-putting,
- Personally, I recommend using good clumping litter (small grains), as hygiene litter (large grains) no longer fits through the holes at the top and therefore cannot fall back into the box.

Outrageous price but still recommendable
I ordered two Modkats (white and black) and I’m really happy with them. The purchase price is absolutely outrageous, but I don’t need to mention that again. That’s why I’m deducting one star. I could only afford them because I didn’t have to pay anything for my cats. The workmanship is good but doesn’t quite match the high price. The litter insert doesn’t seem super sturdy, but it’s been treated gently so far and should last a while. When the Modkat is in the light, you can see the seams where the casing has been "assembled," which doesn’t look particularly great. It’s nitpicking at a high level, but at this price range, you’re allowed to. The Modkats were accepted straight away without much hesitation, although my tomcat doesn’t use the roof and always jumps straight out. Whether I’ll ever be able to teach him to use it, I doubt it :/

Good system!
Our Sphynx tomcat took to it straight away! The design was really important to us, so you just can't overlook it... The price is quite high, but it is what it is! The liner could be a bit sturdier; there should be enough litter for digging, otherwise, it gets torn quickly! Still, it's a good investment and highly recommended.
