The Modkat litter box is praised for its stylish design and quality, effectively reducing litter mess. Some cats take to it immediately, while others struggle with the top-entry design. Concerns include difficulty in cleaning due to urine soaking into hems and the high cost of replacement parts. Despite these issues, many users find it durable and recommend it for its space-saving and clean appearance, making it a worthwhile investment for most pet owners.

cat litter tray
This litter box is convincing in terms of quality. Unfortunately, my cats won't use it. The top-entry design seems to be the issue. Such a shame.

Stylish but pointless
Our two six-month-old kittens refuse to use this litter box, to the point where if we try to put them in it they struggle to get away as if their life depended on it. It's very strange because they love jumping and playing in cardboard boxes, but I guess cats enjoy being contrary. It's a shame because it looks really good and seems sturdy and well-made. A stylish, expensive mistake.

nothing special about it
I was very disappointed with this product, it s very pricy for what it is.

Unused
I have 5 cats and none of them would use this, some of them climbed in to it, but never used it as a toilet! Just to play in!
An expensive gimmicky waste of time, m8ney and more plastic waste at the local tip!

Litter scoop for modko box
Box is great for my 2 cats. litter does not track. The only thing that needs to be changed is the scoop the HANDLE fills up with litter so that goes everywhere. Handle just need to be other way round. Did anyone try this before it went into production

Not being used!
Both cats didn’t use it – instead, they preferred to do their business in our shower – and since the return period is only 14 days, I’m unfortunately stuck with this expensive bad investment...

Very stylish - but not for cats
Unfortunately, none of my three cats will use this litter box. It seems to be due to the top-entry design. It's a shame really, because it actually looks quite nice.

Optics top, for cats a flop.
Unfortunately, our two Persians don’t understand the top-entry design and refuse to use the toilet.
Such a shame, as the appearance is really very nice.

Simply won't be used.
After reading all the positive reviews, I ordered the toilet for my house cats. Unfortunately, not a single one of them uses it. After about three weeks had passed, our tomcat bravely went on an inspection tour, but he certainly didn’t give this toilet a positive review. If none of our seven house cats go near it, it’s definitely not worth its hefty price tag.

Waste of money
As it will be of no use not being able to put it together
Should I have known it would come in bits to put together I would not have bought it. I have no time no patience and no idea how to put it together so it will get piled up with other useless items I cannot put together. They should show the picture of what it looks like when it arrives rather than the way it might look if you manage to build it...

Price and quality - worlds apart
The initial enthusiasm (purchase of a second toilet after a "trial period") unfortunately gave way to disappointment over an expensive mistake three years later. Not only is the insert impractical and one of the lids broke quickly, but even the appearance (white toilet) is now completely ruined. After a summer behind the balcony door, the elegant white has turned into an ugly yellow. According to the manufacturer, the toilet should not be exposed to direct sunlight (would have been good to know beforehand). The affordable model from previous years didn’t have this problem.

Long-term test failed...
We bought two Modkat litter boxes back then and are not convinced.
Shortly after the purchase, we already stopped using the litter liner. Cleaning was just too much effort because of it. So, we use the Modkat without the liner, which works well too.
Unfortunately, the lids on both litter boxes have now broken, which shouldn't happen given the high purchase price.
Ultimately, I cannot recommend the Modkat; it’s not worth the money!

Tested on 17 cats
I bought this model for my three cats. None of them wanted to use it.
So, I passed the litter box on to my aunt. None of her ten cats wanted to go in either.
Eventually, it was handed over to a neighbour with four cats. None of her cats wanted to use this rather peculiar model of litter box either.
Now, the litter box is sitting in my garden as a shelter box for stray cats.
A somewhat overpriced shelter!!!!

Bad purchase!
The toilet is open at the top, so you have a clear view of the contents, and the smell escapes freely, filling the room. The blue bag inside is NOT leak-proof. When you pull the bag up, urine drips out from the bottom. This happens even though I filled the bag with a whole sack of litter (a good 15-20cm). I tried using a newspaper lining and an additional plastic toilet bag. This doesn’t stay in place and gets pulled to the centre by the cats. Design? Meh. The container is not worth the money. Not at all. Cheap, thin plastic. Traditional tray-style toilets are far better. By far. The Modcat is absolutely not recommended.

Absolutely impossible
Completely unsuitable for very small, larger, and older cats. Also, if the cat does its business right in the area of the entry or exit, it’s a proper mess...

Very overpriced, cheaply made
Very disappointed with this litter box. However it's as though the person who designed this doesn't have a cat. Firstly, after nearly 2 weeks, my cat hates this. She uses this if she must, but much prefers a regular hooded tray. The "button" to open the cheap plastic grating is very poorly made & is likely to break in time. Removing & replacing the grating is awkward as it is so flimsy. As it is not braced, the grating does not fit back readily into the slots. Removing the pies is difficult due to the high sides. The supplied special scoop is well made, but an awful design. The holes to let the little drain out are too large & therefore makes it impossible to pick up little bits of pie that may be left behind. The brush on the side is a joke. As a brush, it is too small, but as you dig out the pies, the brush gets covered with litter & makes it easy to spill litter onto the floor. Who would leave a grubby litter scoop on the outside of the tray, or should we wash & sterilise the scoop after every use?
