The Modkat litter box is praised for its stylish design and quality, effectively reducing litter mess. Some cats take to it immediately, while others struggle with the top-entry design. Concerns include difficulty in cleaning due to urine soaking into hems and the high cost of replacement parts. Despite these issues, many users find it durable and recommend it for its space-saving and clean appearance, making it a worthwhile investment for most pet owners.

Unfortunately, just as much litter outside as before.
I bought the toilet hoping that the cats would scatter less litter around. Unfortunately, that's not the case at all. While less litter flies out due to the scratching, as the walls of the toilet are nice and high, more litter gets carried out on their paws. This is probably because my cats jump straight out of the toilet onto the floor, completely bypassing the grid on top of the toilet.
It looks stylish, but that's about it.

Disappointing and really expensive
I paid £69.99 for this .. in my desparate quest to find the perfect litter tray.
Sadly ridicolously over priced for what it is.
One of my cats pushes the liner down so cat wee can spill into the box and also gets caught in thr folds of the liner meaning additional cleaning!
Sadly a waste of £85 (bought an additional liner)

Well...
Less litter comes out of this toilet compared to most others, but there’s still some that escapes. We tried Extreme Classic and then World's Best.
This toilet is more suited to cats that always diligently bury their droppings. Unfortunately, ours don’t, and you can smell it when they’ve used it. You don’t notice that as much with a closed toilet.
We also had the issue with the lid. After just a few weeks, parts started to warp. We did get a replacement free of charge, but at this price, that really shouldn’t happen. It doesn’t bode well for the future either.
In the end, I regret buying this toilet. It’s impractical for us and completely overpriced. At the moment, Zooplus has an alternative for £40. It’s a shame that wasn’t available a few months ago.

Better invest your money elsewhere!
My experience with the Modkat litter box has been disappointing. Despite the many positive reviews here, my cats showed absolutely no interest in the new litter box. The Modkat box was used exclusively for their bigger business, while for all other toilet visits, my two cats mostly preferred the simple litter box.
One advantage of the Modkat box is that you don’t end up with litter scattered everywhere around the box. However, the downside is that the plastic liner inside quickly absorbs the smell of urine, and it’s not easy to get rid of it (cleaning products aren’t liked by the cats, and water and vinegar don’t eliminate the smell either...). After a few weeks (despite regular and thorough cleaning), we had to put the Modkat away because the whole house started to smell like a litter box. We replaced the Modkat with a simple litter box, and both we and the cats are much happier with it. So, better to invest your money elsewhere!

Gave 5* review before, now changed my mind...
I do still like this litter box a lot, neat and no spillage etc, but within the last 10 days both of the button/logo lid locks have broken clean off! I am frankly appalled as these litter boxes are not cheap. Such poor construction is just incredible to me, at that price. Now am taping the lids down so kitties wont hurt themselves with lids flying open when they try to jump back on it it. Not funny. Anyone else had this problem? I'm going to try calling Modkat in New York to see what they say.

Such a shame, such a shame, such a shame!!!
Unfortunately, completely incompatible for our cat girls, far too small, and perceived more as a "threatening monster" (by one) or a play barrel (by the other) :o( --- The idea is very nice, but sadly far too small and unrecognisable as a "loo"..... Sad!!! Such a shame!!

Just looks good...
We've had the Modkat for 6 weeks now. After the initial excitement, reality has set in during daily use. The design is great, but the price is absolutely too high. The craftsmanship is excellent, but the blue bag is already scratched after just 6 weeks. I don't think it'll last much longer before it's worn through. If you reorder it, it costs €25!!!!! It's basically an IKEA bag!!!!
The scoop is way too big, and the brushes sometimes hold onto things you'd rather not deal with.
A full clean takes 1 hour. The blue bag takes forever to dry.
The first impression was fantastic, but for everyday use, it's pretty impractical and far too expensive.

Unfortunately, disappointment after 5 weeks
I was looking for a solution for my tomcat who insists on standing while peeing. At first, I was totally euphoric after checking it out online, but after a few weeks, reality set in...............................................................................................................................
The litter box: After initially refusing to use it, all three of my cats now use this litter box. I was particularly curious about my tomcat. He’s an average-sized cat, around 5 kg. Unfortunately, he still stands in the box, and at first, he peed out through the handle cut-out. So, I taped it shut with packing tape. Now he still pees so high that everything runs behind the practical blue bag and collects as a lovely puddle underneath the bag. As a result, I’ve now taped packing tape all around as a splash guard over the blue bag. Honestly, I think the box is too small for this kind of situation. If I only had "normal" pee-ers, the box would probably be fantastic because it looks great, but as it is, unfortunately ......................................................................................................................................................
The blue bag: The thorough cleaning leaves much to be desired. It’s really great that I can carry the entire contents of the litter box to the bin, but for quick cleaning, the blue bags are totally unsuitable. They take ages to dry, even if you use kitchen roll or towels. Unfortunately, you can’t order replacement bags from Zooplus – not yet???...................................................................................................................................................
The scoop: Cool that you can hang it on the box, but otherwise, the sieve holes are too large, and the brush part is impractical for cleaning. It clumps up if you use it incorrectly
......................................................................................................................................................
Considering the price, ease of use, and unsuitability in my case – unfortunately, I have to deduct 3 stars.
