Big drop in quality!
This used to be really good, large pellets, no mess, but over the last few months the quality has dropped massively. Lots of saw dust , creating more mess . Won't be buying this anymore unfortunately.

Product has changed!
I have been using these pellets for years and years. Everyone who comes to mine always says you can never smell cats or cat litter and I always refer them to this brand. However, over the last few months, this cat litter appears to have had a change. The pellets do not clump the same anymore, the litter is darker in colour and the quality just isn’t the same anymore. I have sadly had to find and source an alternative. Such a shame as I loved this once upon a time

Quality has changed
We've used this product for years, unfortunately in the last few months the product has changed and it's now terrible. The original smart pellets were fantastic, now we're stuck with not having any decent liter. I thought I was going a bit mad until I saw all the other reviews corroborating what I thought! It's now very dusty, small and poor quality.

Very poor Quality
This cat litter used to be fabulous and although expensive I was happy to pay as if stopped my three long haired cats tracking litter through the house
Unfortunately now instead of the large well formed pellets this is now like messy powdery porridge
It’s a disaster sawdust everywhere and it’s now very poor at absorbing urine
Usually buy 6 bags at a time and everyone in last delivery is the same

Very Poor
I have always loved Cat's Best but I decided to try the Smart Pellets thinking they would be better than the original Cats Best, however, I am very disappointed the clumps fall apart when scooping, no difference to the odour and does not live up to the high absorbency and odour-binding fibre technology.
I certainly will not be buying it again. CerCome on Cat's Best you can do better than this.

Quality not like it was
I have used this for a number of years, and previously used the original, however in recent months I’ve noticed sometimes I get a good bag but more increasingly it’s a much darker shade and loads of dust, plus the clumping just breaks apart. I’m going to have to look at alternatives.

Not impressed
I switched to this litter from cats best original as it was very messy tracking everywhere, I'm not impressed at all, it supposed to block out odours and it didn't.I found I'm using a lot more litter, after scooping there's hardly any litter left in the litter box. The only good side to it is that it doesn't track like the original cats best litter. Won't be buying this again

Poor quality
I have used this litter for a while, since changing from the original, because it didn’t track or stick in their paws, but I’ve complained recently because the quality of the pellets is very poor almost like it’s the original bits but with lots of dust.
I had to sift it all before I could use it and lost almost half a bag. Won’t be buying again till it’s rectified. Now to my pick another one!!!

Mushed up pellets
I normally use original cats best but tried the pellets last time to see if it helped with tracking with my long haired cats. Which it did. I now receive 2 large packs in this delivery and they are only about 30/40 % complete pellets the rest is crumbed pellets and dust which will be worse for tracking than the original cats best. Both packets are affected. The extra cost makes this very disappointing.

Poor quality of pellets
My last purchase consisted of mainly dust and tiny pieces - it was also a lot darker in colour. I hope this is a one -off as previously it was a great product but this last bag I ended up throwing most away and the rest was all over my floor!

Not the same anymore! Tiny pieces tracking everywhere and dusty! :(
I’ve used this litter happily for a few years but the quality has just totally crashed. The litter pieces are now much smaller and fragile to break into smaller pieces which then track all over the entire home… and I’ve encountered something for the first time with this litter which is the dreaded dusty paw prints! This product used to have essentially no dust and only minimal tracking of a few pieces outside the litter box… now it is the opposite.
I’m now on the search for a better option.
MUCH worse than the original, no odour control
We’ve been using cat’s best original, the red band but decided we have had enough of the terrible tracking. Was recommended this but biggest mistake ever. THIS PRODUCT HAS NO ODOUR CONTROL. Literally none. We’ve only been using it for a week and the whole flat stinks and won’t go away even after daily scooping. It tracks less than the original but you waste so much more as well, scooping is so inefficient, and with the nonexistent odour control I would recommend staying away from this one!

Very disappointing
For a product that is twice the price as the original Cat's Best it's sadly only half as good. The clumps fall apart so you scoop away twice as much and so go through a bag twice as quickly. It still scatters over the floor, just the bits are bigger so easier to see to sweep up - but that's the only redeeming feature. Truly not worth the extra money.

Cat's Worst
They've changed the formula few months ago and this is not 'best' anymore. The pellets are smaller, it does not clump like it use to and because of this my cat takes it around the whole house. I have to vacuum almost every day now.

Changed formula - won't buy again
The attraction was the low tracking and the fact that is biodegradable and flushable. Like others have said, formula seems to have changes and there's a lot of tracking and dust now.

Wont be buying this again
This product has changed not what it use to be like.really disappointed.. waste a lot not clumping as it used to..also noticed the pellets are different plus strong smell of urine coming through I have never had this before. For what you pay it's a waste of money lost a customer on this one . Wont be buying these smart pellets again .

Quality went down
Unfortunately, the quality of this product has deteriorated. It's supposed to be large pellets and non dusty which is why I get it for my cat with asthma. But lately it's just bag of dust and small particles instead. I will give it one more chance and if still poor then need to find a new litter.

Stick to the other Cat's Best litter
Yes, this stuff does not track. It's because it's so heavy the cats struggle to even move it in the tray, the pieces are too big to get stuck in their paws it also means they're too big to sift through a scoop too. This means you waste LOADS of perfectly good litter. One of my cats isn't even burying now, I've switched back to the old stuff. This stuff is more expensive and you'll use considerably more.

Why change it?
I used this litter for nearly four years. Then, in their infinite wisdom the makers decided to change the litter and rebrand it as ‘smart pellets’. WORST IDEA EVER. The litter is now incredibly dusty and breaks up very easily. The litter now turns to a hideous jelly when wet instead of clumping and it starts smelling whereas before it clumped brilliantly and almost had no odour.
Sorry Cat’s Best, you’ve lost yourself a long standing customer here!!

Quality has really gone downhill
I've been using these pellets for many years, but lately the quality is so inconsistent that I sometimes have to check the bag to see if I actually got the right product! There's more dust than pellets, and it doesn't even clump anymore. It's so fine that I can't get the dirty litter out of the cat tray at all. So I end up having to change all the litter again, even though I only just replaced it!

Has gone downhill a lot
I was very satisfied for 12 years. For about a year now, I’ve been so dissatisfied that I no longer buy it. The pellets are only half the size they used to be and there’s a lot of dust. I have to sift through the whole bag before I fill up my bin, which I always use from. It’s a really dusty business. For that, it’s definitely far too expensive. I’ve now found an alternative litter.

Falls apart in two days
