Disappointing
Unfortunately, I have to agree with the previous reviewers. The quality has deteriorated significantly. It really doesn’t have much in common with the effectiveness it used to have. Previously, you could remove the urine clumps in one compact piece. Now the clump falls apart while still in the scoop. Individual soaked urine clumps end up back in the litter as a result. Sometimes it even gets mushy at the bottom because it no longer clumps properly. Very disappointing. And all that for such a hefty price. This was the last pack I’ll buy.

The litter tray smells again ......
I had hoped this litter would help reduce waste and finally allow me to dispose of the cat litter in the green bin. Unfortunately, it hasn’t convinced me – the room smells strongly of cat urine, the litter doesn’t absorb everything, and small puddles remain in the tray. I have a total of 4 cats and 5 litter boxes. I tested one box with this litter.

It hardly clumps.
I wanted to test it for my two long-haired cats as an alternative to Cat's Best Öko Plus. Unfortunately, it barely clumped and the litter tray smelled more because of it.

Never again
We've been using this litter for 2 years now. But the quality has suddenly become so bad that we won't be buying it anymore. It doesn't clump at all anymore. Instead, it sticks to the bottom of the cat litter tray so firmly that it's almost impossible to get off.

Flawless except for the price
Both of my cats are happy to use this litter. I personally like it because it's made of wood (and smells like it too), it clumps sufficiently in my opinion, and unlike CBÖP, it doesn't get spread all over the house. Admittedly, it smells absolutely awful when the cats have done their business – especially when the tomcat hasn't bothered to cover it up again. Whether that's down to the tomcat's bad manners, the food, or the litter itself, I can't really say. Negative point: the price!

Really deteriorated :-(
I've been using this litter for about a year, and at first, a 20-litre bag lasted me a month for two cats. Now it only lasts a maximum of two weeks. All the pee clumps fall apart, it gets mushy, and it's hard to scrape off the floor. I'll have to switch back to fine litter now, but definitely from a different brand. I'd rather vacuum more often :-P By the way, the double pack is no longer available either, which at least used to save a few pennies.

Quality has become very poor.
We've been using this litter for quite a long time, but we're going to switch now. This litter has become so bad. It no longer clumps and sticks to the bottom of the cat litter tray. Absolutely awful.

Not as good as before, and more expensive!
It doesn’t clump as well anymore, and I have to change it more quickly. Also more expensive than before, so a double downgrade.

Well...
Positive is actually that it’s dust-free and has a very pleasant smell.
Negative, however, was that the clumps of urine fell apart when scooping them out, and within a week the litter contained such small pieces, some soaked with urine, that they kept falling through the scoop and made the room smell terribly of urine when airing it out. After less than two weeks, I threw the litter away and switched to another one. Disappointing, because the pellets stayed nicely in the toilet where they were supposed to.

Cat Litters Best
This definitely the best clumping litter I have ever used. Expensive but worth it.

No longer deserves the name clumping litter.
I've been using this litter for years and I'm still very satisfied. However, what has significantly deteriorated is the clumping of this litter and its consumption. I think the litter no longer deserves the name "clumping litter" and the manufacturer should reconsider it. Years ago, it was very little known and the quality was excellent, but as is often the case, when a product becomes a hit, the quality often declines. I would wish for the manufacturer to bring their very good product back to its original clumping quality.

Not as good as the oeko plus
We have been using cats best for over 10 years now and usually go for the oeko plus; since our new kitten has long fur we thought we give the nature gold a go, but it is not worth the extra money. You will use up more because it does not clump as well and the thicker granulates do not fit though the holes in the scoop. Cats best is great, but the oeko plus is our preferred option.

Absolutely dust-free...
What I can hardly believe compared to Öko Best Plus! The pellets really stay in the litter box, only a few occasionally end up outside, there’s absolutely no dust, and I also find the smell very pleasant. What definitely leaves something to be desired is the relatively soft clumping; they mostly fall apart when being removed and can only be somewhat scooped out with the special Gold scoop, as regular scoops have holes that are too small. The small crumbled clumps then have to be removed with a finer scoop – not great. I also think the odour control could be improved compared to the Plus – at least when it comes to tomcats. Perhaps it’s worth mentioning that the litter is relatively heavy. At the moment, we’re using (with 2 tomcats, 1 cat, and 2 litter boxes) the Plus and the Gold in parallel – both are equally used and accepted. The perfect litter would be a mix of the two – see also my review of Plus.

So far, I’m impressed!
I bought this litter for the first time, in the value pack of 2 x 20 litres. Luckily, I can’t confirm the previous posts – the first bag was full of nice pellets, there was no dust and nothing was crumbled. Now my little tigers just need to find it as cool as I do :D

Quality has declined
I also think that the quality has declined. It no longer clumps the way it used to or should – as a result, my usage has increased, which is outrageous. And the pellets are getting bigger and bigger, which my cats don’t like at all.
Such a shame – it used to be an excellent cat litter.

Clumping is zero, but the heating value is excellent.
Unfortunately, it doesn't clump at all, and there are always bits of urine left in the litter. But I'll give it one star for the heating value, as I ended up using it for the pellet stove. It was expensive, but at least it found a use.

It used to be better ....
The last package contained ridiculously long sticks. My tomcat doesn’t accept the litter at all anymore and now prefers to go in front of the litter box... Very disappointing. It used to be so great. We’re now looking for a different litter...

Best for cats
It's the best cat litter we've ever had. Everything stays in, and there's much less work for me!!!

Super great for Persian cats!!
This cat litter has saved us! Everything else, even the clumping ones, sticks to the fur, but these pellets don’t. I need a 20L pack for 6 weeks – I change it completely every week. No smell, and my tomcat used it straight away the first time. I can only recommend it!

Review of all used litters
I have a creamy Persian cat. Throughout his 3 years with me I tried the following litters:
- Applaws Nature's Calling: My favourite and best of all. Has a pleasant smell, traps odours well (but, have to admit, not so good as Cat's Best Oko Plus), clumps reliably and lasts long (I usually pour half of pack at once, so 2 packs of 6kg last for 1,5-2 months). It does track a bit though, but least of all the litters I've tried and sweeping/hoovering once or twice a week is enough. The only minus is that it colours my cat's creamy paws as it is dark brown.
- Cat's Best Oko Plus: It traps odours very well, lasts for long (similar to Applaws) and has no issues with clumping. However, this is probably the worst tracking litter I had. I had to hoover/brush twice a day as little bits stick onto cat's paws and fur and is spread everywhere at home. I didn't even use all pack, switched back to Applaws.
- Cat's Best Nature Gold: Tried once. The pellets are really large and this makes clumping not so effective. I bought it because it said that it does not stick to fur and is suitable for long haired cats. Well, those pellets did stick to my cat's fur and tracked a lot. Though it is environmentally friendly and eliminates smells for some time. But loose litter eventually becomes smelly and you have to change it.
- Porta Pine Wood: Good cat litter, would rank it 2nd after Applaws. It smells fresh and is literally dust free, leaves no visible marks. It lasts long, great odour control, clumps well and my cat loved it. However, it tracks quite badly, but not as bad as Cat's Best Oko Plus.
- Catsan Hygiene: Not good at all. Never bought again. Clumps stay wet for a long time making it difficult to remove from the box, and when they dry they glue to the box so that I had to scratch them off. Controls smell bad, tracks a bit and clumps of wet litter stick to the fur. It is dusty and caused runny eyes and sneezing to my Persian friend.
- World's Best (Green and Red): Not good. Advised by vet after using Catsan Hygiene. It is dusty and didn't improve my cat's runny eyes much. It clumps very well, tracks a bit. Though it stinks horribly, probably because loose litter eventually starts smelling. Thus, no odour control. As such I do not remember it lasting long.
- Tygerino Crystals Silicate: Used in an emergency when my order was late. Disliked bad smell. It also runs out quickly, one pack lasted for 3 days, tracks a bit.
