AI-generated summary based on reviews added by customers

Cat's Best litter has received praise for its excellent clumping and minimal tracking, keeping homes tidy and odour-free. However, recent changes have left some users disappointed, citing issues with dust, inconsistent clumping, and smaller, crumbling pellets. Despite these concerns, many still find it economical and effective, particularly for long-haired cats. Overall, while the product has seen a dip in quality, it remains a favourite for its cleanliness and ease of use.

Pellets too large

Had hoped to stop tracking, but the pellets are proving too large, my cat will not use it for solids. She has used it for a wee, but dry pellets cling to the clump, making it cumbersome to deal with. Have gone back to Cats Best Sensitive, tracking a nuisance, but otherwise works well.

Now Cat,s worst Nightmare more like

No longer does the job Used this for years and always been happy with it.Not since it changed to Smart Pellets. It doesn't clump properly, is VERY dusty and is nowhere near as good as it used to be at anything that made it a selling point before the changes. Very disappointing, Lost this customer.

No longer does the job

Used this for ages and always been happy with it.Not since it changed to Smart Pellets. It doesn't clump properly, is very dusty and is nowhere near as good as it used to be at eliminating odours. Very disappointed.

no good anymore

I had bought this last year to try, and it was great - clumped well, covered odours... when I bought a replacement, it was a totally different story. It does not clump at all - each pellet just swells up a bit and breaks in half. Odour control is OK but why spend this much on something that doesn't do what it's supposed to??

I wish I could rate "-5"⭐

I've never thought I would rate Nature gold one star. I've been using it for 5 years and it was brilliant for my Siamese twins until last two bags. It does not clump, the pellets size is huge, and it does stink after kitties done #1. I've noticed that twins not really keen to use the litter boxes with Nature gold since the litter formula has been changed. It's not economical either. I'm incredibly disappointed.

Turns To Dust & Causes Respiratory Issues

The formula for this cat litter has changed, it is much more dustier than it use to be which is noticeable as you empty the bag into the tray. The litter clumps, although not aswell as it use to but also breaks down into dust over time. This dust is irratating my cat nasal passage as she digs into it & i find her sneezing & coughing now. I have to keep sifting thru it to scoop out the dust build up over time. I would avoid this litter if your cat starts sneezing or has asthma.

Why has it changed??

Like other reviewers, I have ben using this product for some time (6 years). It was by far the best litter for long haired cats. The new 'rebranded litter" is so inferior. It doesn't clump properly anymore and turns to powder quickly which ends up tracking everywhere! I am desperately seeking a replacement!

Why oh why.....

This product used to be the best in my opinion but I'm afraid like so many things nowadays it has been changed but not for the better. If you feel the need to offer a pellet litter could you not offer both and let us choose? Sorry but after years of use I won't be using it

It has changed for the worse

I have been buying this litter for several years, it USED to be good, clumped well, firm pellets that would just roll along the floor and easy to sweep up. It became 'out of stock' a few months ago and when it came back I bought it again. It has changed, it dissolves into a mush in the tray, has much less clumping ability and the patches of wet litter just fall apart on the scoop. It is much more like sawdust and the quality is as poor as the OKO Plus which is now absolute rubbish.

Change it back!

This used to be the best litter for clumping, odour control, and tracking. I've used it for several years. Whilst it is still great for odour control and tracking, the way this product has been made has clearly changed and it doesn't clump as well. This means it is no longer easy to remove from the litter box. Now trying out other products. I hope the manufacturer change the litter back to how it used to be, it is not longer good value for money or effective as a clumping litter.

Something has changed and not for the good

I thought I had found the perfect cat litter last year. The formulae has changed recently as the litter no longer clumps as good as it used to and when it does it crumbles into small pieces which takes a very long time to attempt to scoop away. As a result I end up throwing away alot of the litter. I do not mind paying a premium price for a premium product, but this is no longer the case as I have got better results from cheaper supermarket brands. On the search for another cat litter now.

awful

Poorest litter I have used for my Persian. I think to call this a clumping litter is wrong. It just looks like a sloppy mess and as you try and remove it from the litter tray it falls apart falling back into the tray in tiny pieces. Will not be buying this again.

Big (in both senses) disappointment

I wish I'd read all the reviews because I completely agree with Fran. Big Disappointment One = the pellets are HUGE and my three large and very long haired Maine Coons are either unable to bury their poo and so leave it (where it smells) or in the case of one of them, go crazy trying to bury it and throw litter all over the kitchen floor. Big Disappointment Two = the stuff is so big that it is impossible to use even a large slatted scoop without being able to seperate used and unused litter, so much is wasted. Back to World's Best for me for house litter.

Awful -VERY dissapointed

Bought this after reading the positive reviews and am really really dissapointed. It's a wood pellet style litter which put me off from the beginning. My kitten took to it immediately and did do his business there but was completely unable to bury his poo and so ended up tracking his poo all over the house instead of a few grains of litter because he spent ages in the litter box trying to bury his litter unsucesfully. As such it smelt really bad. In addition the clumping ability is REALLY bad and once fluid has soaked into it it becomes like jelly and just falls apart when you try to scoop it. Have gone straight back to Sanicat Gold which smells better and clumps better. After changing the litter and putting my kitten in the litterbox he used it straight away so he obviously didnt like the last litter much either and was avoiding it. not good. paws down from both of us here.

Very poor cat litter

After reading all the other reviews I thought I would give this cat litter a go. It doesn't stop the smell at all and it doesn't clump very well. The only positive about it is that I don't have sand all over the house.

Quality has really gone downhill

I've been using these pellets for many years, but lately the quality is so inconsistent that I sometimes have to check the bag to see if I actually got the right product! There's more dust than pellets, and it doesn't even clump anymore. It's so fine that I can't get the dirty litter out of the cat tray at all. So I end up having to change all the litter again, even though I only just replaced it!

Weak

I don't recommend it. It's just ordinary sawdust. It sticks to the bottom of the litter tray and doesn't clump well. Plus, the cat spreads it everywhere.

Has gone downhill a lot

I was very satisfied for 12 years. For about a year now, I’ve been so dissatisfied that I no longer buy it. The pellets are only half the size they used to be and there’s a lot of dust. I have to sift through the whole bag before I fill up my bin, which I always use from. It’s a really dusty business. For that, it’s definitely far too expensive. I’ve now found an alternative litter.

Major decline in quality

I don't recommend it. I've been using it for years and it was always great. Now it's just dust, not litter.

Falls apart in two days

I’ve been buying it for many years but not anymore. The last 5 packs have been poor quality. The pellets fall apart in just two days and bits end up all over the patio, the chairs, and the beds because the cats carry them everywhere on their paws.

It’s gotten worse

I've been using it for years and with an asthmatic cat, but it's gotten worse—it makes a lot of dust now!
