Cat's Best litter has been a favorite for its excellent clumping, odor control, and minimal tracking. Recently, however, users have noticed a decline in quality, with smaller, dustier pellets that crumble and don't clump as effectively, leading to more mess and odor. Despite this, some users still appreciate its odorless nature and ease of cleaning. Many are disappointed and considering switching brands, but others remain loyal due to past satisfaction.

Quality has deteriorated significantly
We had only good experiences for years. However, the last two bags contained hardly any pellets, but rather crumbs and small pieces. As a result, the litter ends up being spread around the house again. I hope the next delivery is back to the usual standard.

New product
The new one is no longer comparable to the old one at all.
Unfortunately, it has become very bad for long-haired cats.

Optimal with Green Power
We have two long-haired cats and mix Best Nature (70%) with Green Power (30%) – this is by far the best solution for us. The smell is very well contained, you only need to completely replace it about every 3-4 weeks, the litter doesn’t spread much, and thanks to Green Power, the litter clumps brilliantly.

Why oh why.....
This product used to be the best in my opinion but I'm afraid like so many things nowadays it has been changed but not for the better. If you feel the need to offer a pellet litter could you not offer both and let us choose? Sorry but after years of use I won't be using it

Simply just got worse...
The NEW litter unfortunately can’t be compared to the old one anymore. The grains are almost as small as those of the eco version and, because they’re rougher, they naturally stick to the fur. The flat looks like a battlefield, and vacuuming is a daily chore. On top of that, the odour nuisance is much worse – even if the business is completely buried, it stinks until you clean it up. I’m extremely disappointed and definitely won’t be buying it again!

Cat's Best Nature Gold
Unfortunately, the "NEW" litter is no longer as good in quality as the conventional one. The litter is no longer as absorbent, and it hardly forms clumps anymore. Additionally, the bags tear easily at the handles but are still difficult to open. I also miss the double pack at a reasonable price – with a household of 4 cats, this really adds up. I hope the manufacturers take note of this and improve the quality and price again.

Why have you changed the product !
I have been using this litter for many years with no problems. However recently noticed there has been a change of packaging and also a change in the size of the pellets. I buy this product as I have 4 Longhaired Persians and they didn’t get stuck in the paws resulting in Little tracking. I have now noticed a steady stream of pellets making there way up the stair carpet. This litter is way more expensive than the normal Cats best and I am afraid I will have to look at an alternative.

Grain size :((((
After repeated orders and now even a name change from Gold to SMART PELLETS, the GRAIN SIZE HAS BECOME EVEN SMALLER. DOUBLE thick MINUS TO THE PRODUCER!!!
Now it’s almost just an Eco Plus litter, with both variants being spread all over the flat.

Katzentreu Cars Best Nature
Very good product and also easy to dispose of via the toilet, doesn’t clog. The cat’s happy, and the owner is too.

Unfortunately, it has gotten worse.
Since the product change, the litter has unfortunately become much worse. I had been using it for a long time out of conviction, but now I’ll be switching to another one. Poor clumping (everything falls apart, proper "slabs" on the bottom of the tray), bad odour control, dust, and above all, much higher consumption. The more affordable twin pack is no longer available either. Such a shame – a good product has been improved to death.

Price explosion
Since the more affordable twin pack of 2x20 litres is suddenly no longer available, we will no longer be ordering this product here. In a multi-cat household, 20 litres is far too little. The price/performance ratio is no longer acceptable.

Made worse while trying to improve.
I was fully convinced by Cat's Best Nature Gold. Unfortunately, with the new version, some features that were important to me have been worsened. Due to the much smaller pellets, the fine dust content has increased significantly! Instead of clumping, it now tends to stick together, and the worst part is that a lot more crumbs are being carried out of the litter box! Previously, it was limited to a small area around the litter box, but now I find them all over the flat!!!! Such a shame, it has really deteriorated.

The best for me
Very low dust, doesn’t stick to fur or paws, so there’s hardly any mess. Pleasant wood fibre scent. Clumps well enough for me if you wait a bit. Never using another litter again.

In a short time, more waste than ever before.
Doesn't really clump, just sticks together a bit and falls apart immediately when trying to separate dry pellets. Creates a lot of waste in a very short time, so "economical" is out of the question. Searching for the countless small clumps is also quite tedious. However, I will still order this litter again because the pellets don't spread everywhere like my previous bentonite clumping litters did. I was constantly sweeping. I also find it very positive that the pellet litter hardly produces any dust.

Very good
I’ve been looking for a natural cat litter for a long time that I can also use with my long-haired cat, as he used to drag all the regular litters through the entire flat, and I find the "baby powder litters" absolutely disgusting. This one simply smells like wood, and thanks to the extra-large pellets, very little sticks to my cat’s long fur. The absorbency is very good, though you do need to wait a bit for the liquid to solidify in the pellets.

Good idea if accepted
I was really impressed. The pellets don’t stick to the fur at all. However, one of my tomcats wasn’t happy at all and ended up becoming unclean because of this litter. Such a shame. I had to switch back. I haven’t tried the new version.

Shame
I've been using this litter for years and have always been satisfied. Unfortunately, the pellets have now been crushed, so they end up scattered all over the house. If the company continues like this, I'll have to consider switching to a different cat litter.

Great product
We have 2 furry cats and 2 nudists, and the litter neither sticks to their fur nor their paws. Unfortunately, it's hard to sift through and doesn't clump very well, so we'll be switching back to Cats Best Original, even though that one tends to spread more around the house.

Quality has deteriorated significantly.
Since the introduction of this litter, I’ve been using it, and both my cats and I were thrilled. However, I’ve unfortunately noticed that the quality has noticeably declined. The clumping no longer works as it used to. You end up throwing away much more litter, which has caused consumption to skyrocket. At first, I thought I might just be imagining it, but the reviews tell a different story.

The best from CB for long-haired breeds
We have now tested all varieties of Cat's Best. This one has the advantage that, due to its very coarse granules, it doesn’t spread as much or as far outside the cat litter box.
However, the large pellets aren’t exactly gentle on cat paws, and scratching in it seems to be quite laborious. Our vacuum cleaner sometimes struggles to pick up the large pellets, which makes cleaning around the litter box a hassle again. And it breaks down faster than the CBÖP.
