Not perfect, but the best if you care about the environment

I have used Oku Plus for about a year. I agree with many of the negative comments - it can track a fair amount, it is not quite as economical as suggested and any poos do smell - but I like to be able to scoop up the well-formed clumps and periodically dispose of it in a way that will not add to landfill. I have a litter tray upstairs where I use other types of litter and I am amazed how much I have to put out each fortnight with the refuse. Personally I think it is quite an advantage if I can smell that one of my cats has done a poo. I can see that this would not be great if you are out all day, but as I am around it alerts me to go and clean out the tray. No, this litter is not perfect, but I love the 'natural' smell and the cats, particularly my kitten, love the softness.

Worst litter ever!!!

This has got to be the worst cat litter I have ever used. I bought a large bag thinking it would be great because of the many 5-star reviews & I was extremely disappointed! It does cover odor, but not as well as others I have used. My cats don't mind it, but they drag it EVERYWHERE!!! And get it stuck to their paws & bums more so than any other we have tried. I've never had a litter that's so messy! The bag has lasted awhile, so that's a plus. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone!!1

wont use anything else now

Ive tried clumping Catsan which I found fine but a little dusty, this was recommended to me on a pets website forum and Ive found it fantastic. Its really economical, I have 2 indoor adult cats and with skipping out 2-3 times a day a bag lasts me a good month, there is no odour at all and no dust at all, the tracking is easy to pick up with dustpan and brush and there is not too much of it, its super absorbant and soft on paws, my cats seem very happy to use it, I wouldnt buy anything else.

Very nearly 5 stars :-)

Much more convenient than the non-clumping pelleted sawdust: just remove the lumps and replenish the box. Before reading the minor gripes, note that I've just ordered 2 more large bags. But not quite perfect: the particles of litter are very light and seem to stick to the cats' feet more than the pellets; there's a little more of the stuff scattered on the floor around the box. Also, like the pellets, tiny fragments of wet stuff are inevitably left behind to become a layer of dust in the litter and I'm still trying to work out how best to get the cats to pee in the dusty bits and use it up.

Good, but could be better

I've been using this litter for over a year now, but I'm back to looking for something better. The main thing for me is the lack of odour control, especially after "big business". Also, the clumps are not very tight and sometimes crumble, and stick quite a lot to the bottom. This, I believe, is why the litter box starts smelling after a week at the latest, despite regular scooping: some of the soiled litter always stays behind. Considering the frequent complete litter replacement, it's actually quite expensive. Minor complaints are the dust (not too bad) and tracking (quite bad). Having said all this, I have yet to find something better (have tried and rejected silicate granules and regular betonite clumping litter). Next on the list to try is Porta Pine...

Really good

I've used Catsan which is good but this is REALLY good! It makes cleaning/clearing the litter tray a much easier and cleaner job with no smell. I have a composter and love the fact that I can recycle the waste. No problems with 'tracking'. Really good product that I would recommend.

5-Star Litter

We have 24 cats, therefore a lot of litter trays (10)! We had used a non clumping wood-based litter for years prior to discovering Cat's Best Oko Plus and were reasonably satisfied. However, after trying Cat's Best, we would never go back to using a non-clumping litter again. Yes, you do get tracking, but most eco cat litters will track. Believe me, the benefits far outweigh a little bit of extra sweeping up. Even with our brood, a 40 litre bag lasts a month at least and makes litter tray cleaning so much easier. Conventional wood-based litters are cheaper but most of the time you throw perfectly good litter away because the soiled pellets turn to a powder which mingles with the unused litter. I strongly recommend you try it and see for yourselves.

Incredible!

When they wee it clumps into a ball and dries everything out. I was so impressed by the small 5L bag that I have now bought the 40L - I have a huge cat litter box so it needs about 6L to fill it to a suitable depth but this bag will last for months as you only have to throw away the soiled bits. Amazing. I can't see that I will ever need to look elsewhere for cat litter. Oh, and it's flushable too, although I haven't been doing that, but it's good to know.

Horrible, horrible product !!!

I decide to buy this product, because my favorite litter was out of stock. Till I bought this product my experiments with buying new product was sucessful. Before I decided to buy this product I read most of reviews. Over 60 - five star super reviews. And BIG dissapointment. Before I start using this litter my house was lovely clean, now? Mess everywhere. Litter bits sticks everywhere, cat's spread bits allover my house. I foud this litter bits on the carpets, tiles, stairs even stick to my cats fur. I just can't understand how this product could get so many 5 star reviews? Why others users are so delighted when for me is real nightmer? I wouldn't buy again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Highly recommend: Extreme Classic Cat Litter Classy Cat Cat Litter

Not as good as I'd hoped

I bought the 40L pack of this due to the excellent reviews but was very disappointed, it ends up all over the house because it sticks to their feet! It does soak up urine very well and is easy to clean but there's too much ends up on the floor and creates more work.

Fantastic product

I bought the 40L because it was such good value. It's tricky to store such a large bag, but it's a fantastic product, so worth finding somewhere! There is no dust like with conventional litter, it clumps perfectly to remove little presents without the waste of throwing away clean litter and there is absolutely no odour. The kittens love it, it is soft and easy to scratch around - I will only ever buy this product in future.

Really excellent

This is the best i've tried: - it's soft on their paws - controls odours really well - clumps brilliantly, therefore v economical - i put the wee clumps directly in my compost heap - is light, easy to handle and sweep up

Excellent

I have been looking for something like this for years. Yes, it tracks, but not as bad as all my older litters. It's easy to keep trays clean. All I do is remove clumps & add more to trays as I need it. I would recomend this product & site to any cat lover. I have converted one work mate to this product & they are also amazed at how good this is. Thanks Zooplus.

Tried loads, this is my favourite!

I've tried several different cat litters including World's Best, Everclean, Catsan and others. I found Everclean to be very good but rather expensive and a pain to wash the litter tray because the clay seemed to clog up the drains no matter how little of it was left to wash off. Oko Plus is by far my favourite. My two bengals love it, it holds odour well, it lasts for ages and is very reasonably priced compared to other brands. I'd definitely recommend this and will certainly be sticking to it. The fact it's organic and biodegradable is good too as I have peace of mind knowing I'm not polluting the environment with substances that don't break down over time.

Brilliant

I'd tried loads, but this is the one I'm staying with. Excellent product.

Works like a charm

No smell, easy to dispose after clumping. Cat loves it. Worth the extra cost.

The best

we love this product, last for weeks for our 3 cats, do not stick to their long hair.

fantastic

this is the best litter we have ever used,we have 7 cats and a 10l bag lasts over a month easy, all you have to do is top it up and flush the mess down the pan

brilliant

I mix mine with a 1/3 recycled paper base cat litter. it clumps very well and is so easy to remove. The smells have disappeared, my two cats love it. it can be a bit messy, mainly because one of my cats likes to dig and dig. It works out very cheap, a bag seems to last for a very long time, I won't be changing my cat litter again.

Very little smell

This litter is very good, there is very little smell from it but it does track everywhere. Really easy to use as you can just flush the used stuff down the loo - good value for money

It's not the same anymore

I’ve seen that other people have had the same experience as me. I bought it for two years, it was really excellent. For months now, it’s not the same anymore. It DOESN’T CLUMP anymore. As for the smell, unfortunately I’ll have to try again because I bought a similar one, but the bad odour isn’t neutralised.

Very good litter

Very practical and pleasant natural litter for the cat, she doesn’t scatter it everywhere.

Lately, it gives off dust

I've always used this litter and been really happy with it, but lately it's been giving off loads of dust. Even when I scoop it, I end up coughing from all the dust—imagine what it's like for the cats. I'm thinking about switching to a different one.

Brilliant

I've been using this litter for a few months now and honestly I don't regret it at all, it's really great. Plus, with a big bag I can fill five litter trays and still have some left over, so it's really good when you have several cats.

Dusty

The sand is very dusty, which is a shame because it goes a long way and clumps well.

Almost dust-free but clumping is mediocre

I previously used cat litter from Lidl and wanted a low-dust option. I'm very happy with this cat litter because it's quite low in dust and absorbs odours well. However, I'm unsure about the quality of its clumping. It does form clumps, but the pee clumps break apart when I try to clean the litter box. The pee stays fairly wet, which is annoying because it leaves small bits of litter behind that already contain pee. As a result, the litter needs to be replaced more often.

It's not the same product anymore.

We’ve been using this cat litter for years. Now it doesn’t clump like it should anymore and the litter smells worse.

Good

Pros: eco-friendly, easy to remove Cons: smells damp and like sawdust if not changed right away

The best

Our favourite: it lasts a long time, doesn’t leave dust everywhere (like the stone one), clumps well... Negatives: it sticks quite a bit—leaves marks and it’s a bit pricey.

Very dissatisfied, used to be better, doesn't clump properly.

The first ones we bought directly at Fressnapf were of higher quality.

Very good cat litter

Great cat litter, the cats are happy, it clumps nicely and smells like wood. The pieces used to be a bit bigger, so now they spread it around the flat more, but it's still good and much better than the original bentonite one.

Excellent!

I've been using this litter since 2011 and it allows me to avoid bad smells in the house because I can flush it down the toilet. It's odourless so it doesn't bother me, and it doesn't contain any toxic substances for my pets. Finally, it's clumping and absorbent.

Not recommended for cats with respiratory issues

It covers smells really well; Makes firm clumps, easy to remove from the litter; It's gentle on the paws, soft, my tomcat liked digging in it. The biggest downside, and the reason I'll stop using it, is that it leaves a lot of dust. My cat has respiratory issues, which came back shortly after I started using this litter. The dust bothered me too, so I had to wear a mask when cleaning/changing it; Another downside is that it spreads easily all over the house.

Clumping litter???

I bought this litter because it was supposed to be very low in dust. But that's really the only advantage! As for CLUMPING litter...???? Every clump falls apart as soon as you lift it out of the tray, or even just shake it a bit on the scoop to let the clean litter fall back into the tray. So better not to shake it and just throw everything in the bin. What a waste! Even my three cats prefer to use the other tray, which still has the "old" type in it. Never again!!!!!

Decline in quality

Less clumping and more dusty, it gets everywhere in the flat, but always has a pleasant smell. The quality has gone down over time (especially with the larger packs of litter).
