Cat's Best Original cat litter has received mixed reviews. Many customers appreciate its excellent clumping ability and odour control, making it a favourite for years. However, recent changes in the formula have led to complaints about increased dustiness, poor clumping, and tracking issues. Despite these concerns, some users still find it economical and effective, highlighting its lightweight nature and pleasant woody scent. Overall, it's a product that has its ups and downs depending on individual preferences.

Tracks but contains odours

It is true that this litter tracks, it is a bit of a nightmare to be honest but it does contain the smells very well. If the cat covers the poo, I won't even smell it. In regards to pee, it is also true that it breaks down in smaller pieces so it is not super clumping in that regard. Also, it is a bit dusty. It is gentle on my cat's paws. Overall, I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. I will be trying different ones.

OKish, but won't buy again

This is a decent product. If decent enough is acceptable, then look no further, as it is very cheap. Having two ragdolls and 1 huge litter enclosure - this product didn't meet the expectations. Cats were originally on wooden pellets and I recently moved away from that - hated the cleaning of the sieve tray. This litter clumps ok, tracks as any other (best to invest in a small handheld vacuum IMO). The clumps however did fall apart and I rarely managed to remove it all.

Pretty Good

This is my first time owning an indoor cat and so I don't have anything to compare my litter experience with. But I think this was a pretty good buy. It's easy to scoop and the tray is easy to clean. I haven't noticed any odour beyond the litters actual woody smell. However it gets EVERYWHERE. I found some in my bed this morning and the litter tray lives downstairs. Towards the bottom of the bag it is quite dusty and my cat sometimes comes out with it on his head. But it still does its job well

Would keep using if cats were less diggy.

It's not for us because my kittens are over-meticulous in covering their wee, so they just decimate the clumps (which form well when not interfered with by the way), spreading them throughout the clean litter. It's impossible to remove them all so I can't leave it unchanged anywhere near the time cited by the manufacturer making it way too expensive. Otherwise - really lightweight, no wee smells even with the bits. Does track though..

Best litter ever

Best litter ever from plenty of other that I already trying. Very good absorbing and don't smell at all, lasting for long period of time

Great litter

I find this litter great to use and it a neutral smelling litter which is good for my kitten. It controls the smells well and it easy to scoop out urine or poop. I think as long as you clean your litter box regularly it’s fine! There is a little litter that comes out after my kitten has used her box but it’s not as bad as iv read from other reviews a litter mat helps collect any litter bits. I’m happy to continue buying this product.

Overall good but too messay

It is overall a good product e.g. minimum odor, can be flushed down to the toilet, long-lasting. However, the biggest issue is that it spread all over the entire house for some reason. My guess is the material is so light it sticks on the bottom of your shoes so you literally spread it everywhere in the house, especially when you have a dark carpeted area. I have been using it for a year but now considering going back to Catsan smart just for a while.

Product is no longer as good as it was

I've been using this litter for years but have watched it go downhill in quality for the last couple of years. It used to clump but now all it makes is a horrible slimy mess and no longer seems to cover the smells as it used to. Have now found an alternative corn based litter which clumps properly and smells much better. Cheaper too! I used to swear by Cat's Best but now I can't wait for my last big bag to run out.

Excellent

In my experience this is an amazing product. Can be thrown in the toilet. And without smell .My cat adores it.

Brilliant

This is the best cat litter I’ve used, my cat had 8 kittens so was emptying the litter box 3_4 times a day,, THIS litter I can get 2 days out off, I just take the poo and the litter just soaks up the wee.. definitely recommend this to any cat/kitten owner.

Appalling

I must be the only person to be unhappy with this I bought 2 bags last week and have already had to use them both up. I’ve had to changed the litter daily due to the smell. Literally absorbs nothing and the poo is just a sticky mess that sticks to the cats paws. I am so disappointed I wasted my money Vile

Very good

Very good litter. I’m using from 1 year. One problem my cat spreads around the house. But no odour, no dust and good climbing

Usually very good product

I have used it for some time now and was really happy. Lasted for a long time and with one cat had to be change once a week. Recently brought the large 40l pack and was disappointed with the quality. The large pack consists of a lot of dust instead of the nice tight drops found in the smaller packs.

Great product!

It makes my life so much easier than it was before when I was using the non clamping litter. Less smell, straight into the toilet and flush. That is what everyone wants.

Best litter ever

I have two cats both 8 years old.Their urine smells stronger now and with any clay/biodegr litter i had so far that says they do odour control, I still had a very strong smell. My cat has also been diagnosed with mild asthma and the litter I've always had is just to dusty. But then this litter came along! Recommended by my vet for my cats asthma as this litter has no dust. And odour. Well it still smells of wood even when used. It cost more but keeps longer so levels it self out on cost

Good, but takes some getting use to...

At first, I was a bit doubtful that this litter was meeting my expectation in regards to clumping. Odour control is very, very good & the urine DOES NOT sit on the bottom of the litter tray. My cat has no problem using it and yes there is a tiny bit of 'tracking', but no worse than other litters I have used. It takes some getting used to the large 'balls' of urine, which does not clump solid. I guess this is what other reviewers are unhappy about, but it is formed enough to be lifted out.

Great, but tracks

This is without doubt the best litter I have used with my cat. It gets rid of smells within minutes and clumps pretty nicely. Sometimes the clumps break apart if they are stuck against the side of the tray, but the pieces are easy enough to fish out with the scoop. The only issue I have is the amount of tracks this leaves, literally everywhere. But, given that it smells great, cuts down on waste and is much nicer to use, it's a flaw I'm more than willing to accept

I'm done with this litter

I don't even know why I bother with this anymore, it tracks absolutely EVERYWHERE and is so dusty. This is my last bag.

If you think your cat's bowels contain a portal to hell, this is for you

About two months after we got her, we realised that the litter we got until then did virtually nothing to get rid of the smell that made us believe our kitten had a portal to hell within her bowels. The smell was extreme and permeated EVERYTHING. Friends recommended Cat's Best, and the change was dramatic. The smell is effectively gone. Even when scooping the litter, it faintly smells of wood chips. It clumps well and is flushable. We can't recommend it enough.

Worth a try without breaking the bank

I recently started looking for an alternative to Worlds Best that has become dusty and unusable. I'm so glad I ignored the negative reviews. I ordered a smaller pack to test whether the cats would like it and whether it did the job. Well, after a couple of days I ordered a bigger pack! Clumps well but I'd recommend taking out the clumps as soon as possible as they tend to fall apart if stuck to the side to the litter tray. Hopefully this one stays almost dust-free and the way it is.

Perfect for us

It clumps well and doesn’t create much dust. If you clean the litter box regularly, it doesn’t smell. Some gets carried out on their paws, but with daily sweeping around the toilet, it’s not a problem. Our cats don’t like scented litter, so this is perfect for them.

I always buy it. Good price.

It's just a shame that zooplus packs it in a big box. It would easily fit in a slightly smaller one if the top packaging was bent. And it makes a difference to me, because I prefer to collect my deliveries from the parcel locker.

It's not the same anymore

I’ve seen that other people have had the same experience as me. I bought it for two years, it was really excellent. For months now, it’s not the same anymore. It DOESN’T CLUMP anymore. As for the smell, unfortunately I’ll have to try again because I bought a similar one, but the bad odour isn’t neutralised.

Very practical and pleasant natural litter for the cat, she doesn’t scatter it everywhere.

Lately, it gives off dust

I've always used this litter and been really happy with it, but lately it's been giving off loads of dust. Even when I scoop it, I end up coughing from all the dust—imagine what it's like for the cats. I'm thinking about switching to a different one.

Brilliant

I've been using this litter for a few months now and honestly I don't regret it at all, it's really great. Plus, with a big bag I can fill five litter trays and still have some left over, so it's really good when you have several cats.

Dusty

The sand is very dusty, which is a shame because it goes a long way and clumps well.

Almost dust-free but clumping is mediocre

I previously used cat litter from Lidl and wanted a low-dust option. I'm very happy with this cat litter because it's quite low in dust and absorbs odours well. However, I'm unsure about the quality of its clumping. It does form clumps, but the pee clumps break apart when I try to clean the litter box. The pee stays fairly wet, which is annoying because it leaves small bits of litter behind that already contain pee. As a result, the litter needs to be replaced more often.

Cat litter

The litter is fantastic, really efficient, clumps instantly, doesn’t get all sticky, and the bottom of the tray stays clean. I’ll only be ordering this one from now on.

It's not the same product anymore.

We’ve been using this cat litter for years. Now it doesn’t clump like it should anymore and the litter smells worse.

The best

Our favourite: it lasts a long time, doesn’t leave dust everywhere (like the stone one), clumps well... Negatives: it sticks quite a bit—leaves marks and it’s a bit pricey.

Very dissatisfied, used to be better, doesn't clump properly.

The first ones we bought directly at Fressnapf were of higher quality.

Very good cat litter

Great cat litter, the cats are happy, it clumps nicely and smells like wood. The pieces used to be a bit bigger, so now they spread it around the flat more, but it's still good and much better than the original bentonite one.

Excellent!

I've been using this litter since 2011 and it allows me to avoid bad smells in the house because I can flush it down the toilet. It's odourless so it doesn't bother me, and it doesn't contain any toxic substances for my pets. Finally, it's clumping and absorbent.
