I used to recommend this litter and have used it for over a decade but it has now severely declined in quality to the point it's unusable, we started a bag and won't even pass it on to someone else or use it in an emergency because it is SO BAD. It stinks, as soon as it's used you have to empty the whole thing out because it doesn't clump. Our cats refused to use it after they peed in it once and the small bag literally lasts one or two days at most.

It was recommended to me because I wanted to move away from bentonite litter. Unfortunately, it’s extremely dusty!! When scooping, a cloud of dust always forms, and afterwards, there’s a layer of wood dust on the surrounding furniture. Such a shame, because otherwise, it clumps really well.

I think the litter is great, I like the wood scent. Our tomcat suddenly started being unclean, so I used a different litter and had no more issues. It's a shame we can't use it anymore.

Small bag years ago was great so ordered a huge £37 bag thinking It would work in my robot litter tray. It’s not suitable at all as doesn’t clump and unused litter wont go down the holes fast enough to the clean section so all goes to waste. Thinking I will use a normal cat tray.It doesn’t work in a normal one either it just goes all gooey and shiny like syrup sticking to the tray, carpet and my cats so bad that my cats have chosen to “go” elsewhere! Unfortunately, no longer recommendable. The litter no longer clumps, creates dust quickly, smells strong, and ends up scattered all over the flat. I’m very disappointed and will definitely not be buying this product again. It’s a real shame that feedback doesn’t seem to reach the manufacturer or is completely ignored. By the way, I’ve had cats for 30 years and am speaking from experience.

Really good, easy to clean it

I’ve had my cats for 12 years now and have been using this litter for almost as long. For the past year, I’ve noticed the quality has been getting worse. It’s become dustier, and the clumping has significantly deteriorated. As a test, I used a different litter in one of the trays, and the issue with uncleanliness disappeared. To rule out coincidence, I switched back to Cat’s Best, and lo and behold, the uncleanliness returned. I won’t be buying this litter again—such a shame!

Quality has worsened... such a shame

I've been using it since the day my cats moved in! It's practical that I can dispose of it in the toilet, works great! However, it has actually become a bit finer and dustier over time, and it smells quicker, so my tomcat no longer likes to use it and does his business in front of the litter box! And it's gotten more expensive too! I have two Maine Coons and clean the litter box twice a day, but the quality has deteriorated so much that I'm now looking for an alternative in the near future!!!

I have used this cat litter for years, I didn't mind the high price because it was worth it. There was No mess, no smell. now it sticks to my cats paws and goes everywhere. the clumps break up easier when cleaning, meaning you need to do a full litter clean more often. something has changed. I am now on the hunt for new litter. Change it back please as this used to be the best cat litter for multi cat house unfortunately it's not anymore

I have tried several 'good' brands of litter for my 4 cats, but always come back to this one. It used to be excellent, so didn't mind the price of it, but for the past few months I've noticed it's a lower grade of product. They've changed the formula, and now it's just a standard litter as the cheaper ones. I continue to use it because I like how easy it is to sift, but it's definitely reduced in quality. It's very disappointing.

The product used to be good, so I switched back to it last summer because the quantity-to-price ratio is simply the best. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find that the cat litter started to smell despite daily removal of clumps and monthly litter changes. We thoroughly cleaned the litter boxes with washing-up liquid and so on, thinking that was the issue, bought new litter, and two weeks later it was the same again—an absolutely horrendous stench, like a rabbit hutch that hasn’t been cleaned in ages.

First bag i purchased was great, probably the best litter I had purchased. I then bought a large bag but something has changed with the litter. It gets attached to my cats paws, legs, body..... so I find it on the staircase, all over the beds, on the sofas. I am constantly hoovering to get rid of it. Must be horrendous for multicat households. Such a shame as this was a really good cat litter as other people have also mentioned. I would not purchase again.

I`m using it for the last 2 years, best buy ever. One 40l bag for 1 cat , used it for 7 months. Change it at 2 - 3 weeks .

I’ve been using this cat litter for years, but I’ve had to realise that it’s not the same as it used to be. The quality is no longer the same, yet the price has gone up.

Recently rescued a Mum and 3 kittens. Was sick of the smell of ammonia and the dust from catsan, so gave this a try in one tray. It's amazing. Their wees just create a small ball that you fish out and there is no smell. We filled the trays quite deeply - maybe that's where the people complaining went wrong. I can't wait until we can swap all the trays to this stuff and I wish I'd known about it sooner. We struggled for years with the smell from our previous elderly cats.

I've been using this cat litter for eight years now, and I absolutely love it. I can dispose of it in the toilet without any hassle. A small downside is that the quality has dropped a bit. It produces more dust now and doesn't dissolve as quickly in the toilet anymore. Other than that, I can only recommend it.

This stuff heavily resembles porridge oats. It as heavy as porridge oats. It will be All. Over. Your. House by day 2. Everywhere. The amount my cats can smuggle in their adorable hairy paws is frightening. If they were on an international flight I’d worry they would be stopped for concealing goods. It also does not clump. Instead, every wee fuses to the base of the litter tray like 4 day old Weetabix and requires an angle grinder to remove. I wanted litter not breakfast cereal.
