SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap

I am delighted with this product. The local bully-cat used to chase my gentle little cat in through the ordinary cat flap and beat her up her in her own home. Since I bought SureFlap cat flap only my cat can come in and so she’s safe now.

Firstly in reply to the previous 2 (misleading) comments: 1 - There is a ;ow battery warning light clearly visible on the inside top right of the housing. 2 - You can revert to manual (Non-microchip) mode easily by following the simple instructions in the booklet provided. Does what I wanted it to do - keeps out the neighbours unfriendly cat and allows my 2 cats access. Simple to fit and simple to set up.

If you have female, unneutered cats, DO NOT BUY this product! It is staggeringly badly designed, in so far as it is impossible to set it to "entry only". If ALL your cats are not microchipped, they will be trapped outside, and subsequently impreganted by feral toms. In addition, its lock mode is easy for the cats to bypass - my cats figure out how to get round it within a few weeks. Also, no low battery alert to tell you the batteries are running low. I wish I had never touched it-Disgusted

Had this now for 3 weeks and i am trying all sorts to make 2 cats and kittens used to it... 1st wrong thing is that you cannot "downgrade it" and use it as a plain flap (they use a litter box so it would be an easier mechanism for them). I tried with tape and removing batteries but there is always a magnetic mechanism that keeps it firm. 2) Every time that my cat approaches it, there is this massive clank that obviously scare them off and they run away. For them it's scary, torture, we hate it!

I have had one of these for years and with 2 cats in and out it has worked hard. It is great that other cats can't get in, because our cats need to know they are safe from the local tomcat tearaway. Anyway if bits have worn over the years a quick look at sureflap website gives access to trouble shooting guides and videos. The customer support team get back to you really quickly and help sort it out. I would definitely buy one again.

I've had cats and flaps for over 30 years and this is the best quality product I've found. More expensive than a regular one but worth every penny. Very simple to set up and program and fits perfectly into the hole from my previous flap. All flaps make a noise as the door swings back into place, this makes an additional small clicking sound as the lock releases and is less draughty than many. The entrance is slightly smaller than average so may not suit very large cats but not a problem for me.

I purchased and installed this product at great personal expense, expecting that it would be able to control exit and entry to my house for my cats, some of whom have different medical needs. I expected to be able to determne which cats are allowed to exit or enter the house. However, this product only allows EXIT ONLY mode - which means that a female cat in heat, for example, is free to come and go as she pleases. There is a manual mode, but it rather defeats the purpose. Do not reccommend.

I bought this cat flap 4 years ago and it was straightforward to fit and my cat uses it frequently. Recently the lock button fell out. I rang SureFlap to find out if I could get a replacement part and they took my address and posted it to me without any charge even though it was outside the guarantee period. It arrived two days later. I am most impressed.

I bought this SureFlap in the brown colour about 4-5 years ago and it is still going strong. I have found that using lithium batteries are the best, as they can stand colder conditions and keep their charge longer. Only had to replace silver stickers and these were free of charge from customer services at SureFlap. I recommend this item and most of my family have since bought item through Zooplus and seem very happy with it.

My husband and I were new to cat flaps, we didnt have one for our previous cat who tended to spend most of the day out then in for the evening. But this kitten is in and out at regular intervals so we looked into a cat flap to give him the freedom. Would highly recommend, a joiner fitted it in approximately 20 minutes to our rear door, best decision we made, it took a couple of days of patience in training him, coaxing with toys and treats as he was nervous at first of the clicking sound.

This is the second one of these I've purchased they are brilliant, stopped any uninvited guests coming in. So easy to install and programme. This is an excellent price too it's about £20 cheaper than when I bought one about 6 years ago.

My cat is now safe, thanks to this cat flap, we had an uninvited cat guest, eating my cats food, sleeping over and weeing in my house through the night, this is now all resolved with this brilliant cat flap, great invention, I would agree with some that the opening is a little smaller than my last cat flap, it took a few attempts for her to use, but is now happy n safe, so pleased we changed ..

change from a standard flap to a micro chip flap . neighbours cat would get in and eat all the food. programming realatively easy. batteries only last 4 months of 4 cats in and out 24/7 and when they do fail it jus fails by ticking open and closed ALL the time day and night till they are changed. its loud.... loud enough to wake you up and the door has a gap between the insulation and the tunnel,,, so its draughty but it does work. noisy and draughty sorryp

This large cat flap is perfect for my cats. They can come and go as they please until the curfew mode kicks in, they are in for the night. I had a minor issue when first installed called customer service, had a new one the next day. They even paid to return to defective one. Great service

Just installed the dual flap... the opening is too small,,, our cats are quite big and they struggle to get through,, just. Our problem is one cat gets in and out ok, th other can't ,, its as if the sensors to get back in are too far back in the tunnel and should be nearer the front to allow the chip which is intheir collar to be read. After cutting more of my door away and fitting their window bracket, I still have same problem,,, cats can get out but not back in,,,useless for me now ..

This a quality product which was easy to fit and set up. We did have a bit of a problem in that we had metal within our door but having spoken to Sureflap customers service (who were really very good )sorted the problem out and is now working excellently for our elderly cat ..Would recommend this product.

A year since it was fitted and we can't rate this cat flap highly enough. We were newcomers to the world of cats and a work coleague recommended this cat flap. We have found it really easy to program & it continues to work faultlessly for our two young cats. The red battery warning light has just started flashing after 12 months of continued use. We definitely didn't expireience any draught issues as suggested by a previous reviewer. We absolutely love it.

We had the problem of neighbours' cats coming in through our existing catflap and polishing off Sooty's food. Sooty refused to wear a collar but had a microchip. A friend told us about microchip catflaps. We investigated and found good reviews for the SureFlap one. Bought it online,, my husband fitted it easily, just needing minor adjustments to the hole already there, Sooty got used to it immediately, clever cat, and the neighbours' cats have given up trying to get in. problem solved!

The Catflap is OK, its a bit small. Fine for my kittens at the moment, but give it a year and we will have to buy a bigger one. Recently, our cats have been given freedom of the outdoors. However, this has obviously resulted in some territorial issues. On more than one occasion now, we hear a huge bang on the backdoor, and its our kittens getting chased back to the house and headbutting the catflap due to it now unlocking, and has resulted in one of our kittens getting attacked and cut face

I bought a sureflap cat flap. Was ideal for several months, I then started to experience problems. I decided to send an e mail to the company advising them of the issues. There response was second to none. If all companies responded to there standard life would be so much nicer. I did not have to argue with them, they assessed the situation and responded accordingly. I would advise any customer experiencing problems, dont write a negative review, contact the customer service team, they are exceptional!A

This is the second one I've ordered because the first one couldn't hold the battery charge anymore. So, I've had it since 2008, and now it's 2026, and thanks to their microchips, my three cats can use the cat flap. No other cat can get in or out, even though the latest cat flap allows a cat that might have accidentally followed one of mine inside to leave, but that's never happened. I don't understand the negative reviews—personally, I think it's great.

Works just as described. All the cats got used to the feeders very quickly. All it took was putting their favourite pouch inside and letting them sniff it. They knew it was there, just had to figure out how to get to it. A couple of times they jumped when the lid opened, but their desire for their favourite pouch was stronger. There's no smell of food at all in the flat. I already have 3 feeders for cats on different diets (one tomcat on urinary, another tomcat on no special diet, and two cats on gastrointestinal).

Cat flap in use with 2 cats for 11 years. Scanning the microchips is easy to understand and do, the flap was installed quickly and works reliably. After 11 years, the 4-way lock has worn out and falls out if a cat goes through too quickly. Had a chat with extremely friendly customer service, and now they're sending me a replacement lock free of charge. There really is still quality and service in Germany. Thanks.

We've been looking for days now because the hatch's post-installation programming isn't working when our cat wants to come in 🤢

Now on our third cat flap in five years. At first it works fine, but after about a year and a half it starts draining the batteries. Now I have to replace the batteries every day.

Just doesn't work, plain and simple.

A cat from outside pulls the flap to the side with its claws to open it and slips into the house. It has damaged the felt around the cat flap door. Problem with no solution!..

The cat flap only worked for a couple of weeks before it stopped reading the chip. We've had the chip checked by the vet and it's sitting perfectly readable in the cat's neck. We've also changed the batteries, but that didn't help. This is the second cat flap we've had that has stopped working.
