I always review after 6-8 from purchase to give an honest review. I love the huge size & thickness of sisal on this. However, in under 1 year since purchase the sisal has been ripped away & torn everywhere. I have 2 average sized domestic strays cat & 1 8kg domestic stray cat, who are outdoor cats, thus not over used as they love scratching real trees outside more! I expected expected this scratch post to last a lot longer & evidently the quality is NOT good as DOES NOT last long!

All in all, the scratching post is great. It didn’t have a strange smell upon delivery, was very well received, and seemed very sturdy. The sisal has naturally shifted a bit and become roughened, but the real issue is that the base plate is broken. The entire post is, of course, unstable, so unfortunately it has to g.o.! Such a shame!

This is a good strong post that is withstanding lots of use from my cats, three of whom are big i.e. nfc's. I used to buy the cheaper jumbo post but they didn't last five minutes. I would definitely recommend this one. One small moan, the fluffy cap at the top isn't fixed on so falls off when the cats climb to the top, otherwise it's a good product.

A friend of mine had the lid at the top come loose, and her 5-month-old kitten got inside and got stuck. 10 minutes later, the kitten was lying dead in the scratching post. Just awful, simply awful 😢

Still very happy with my purchase back then! Not just 3 years, but also 3 cats and heavy use have taken their toll on the scratching post. Here and there, a few sisal fibres are sticking out, but those are really minor signs of wear considering that the tree is the most popular cat outpost in the kitchen! Nothing smelled bad at the time, I was able to set it up straight away. If the product is still the same today as I know it, then I can wholeheartedly recommend it as an additional tree. A solid 10/10!

Very nice and sturdy scratching post, my cats use it every day. Doesn't wobble at all, even with my 7kg tomcat. Highly recommended!

Has been standing in the kitchen until now, in front of the open balcony door to air out. But now it's done. However, the trunk has been well used by Tiger right from the start.

We wanted something new for our 13-year-old tomcat. The big question: would he accept the thing? After all, he's no longer wild and impulsive, rushing towards everything... But yes, not long after setting it up, he scratched it for the first time with great pleasure and stretched himself – and now, after a week, he's even climbing all the way to the top. The post has excellent stability and lovely thick sisal. As for the smell that some people have complained about: it only smells like sisal.

Sturdy, stable, and doesn’t slide... My two British Shorthairs accepted it straight away and occasionally scratch it now and then... Unfortunately, even after weeks, there’s still this nasty smell that spreads throughout the entire bedroom... If you decide to go for this scratching post, you should definitely let it air out properly outside first! Otherwise, a solid post for a reasonable price!

There's absolutely no doubt about it; this is a giant cat's dream! The post would survive even an earthquake, it's rock solid! Big, sturdy, and something that looks great in the flat too. Five stars!

Fantastic, super large scratching post of very good quality with a heavy base plate, making it impossible to tip over. My cat took to it straight away. Fast delivery!!! It also looks great! I would recommend it to every cat owner. THANK YOU!

Lovely and sturdy scratching post. But unfortunately, it still smells a bit. This didn’t happen with the previous one from Shiny Plush. Tiger is still using the post enthusiastically though. For the first two weeks, it stayed out on the balcony because of the smell.

We are absolutely thrilled with this scratching post! It’s very sturdy and has the perfect size, allowing even larger cats to stretch out fully. Ours love climbing up it. Even the rope with the toy is super durable – my tomcat usually chews through things like that straight away. But since this one is made of sisal, he’s left it alone so far. It smelled of sisal for two to three days, but definitely not of any chemicals! We’re so glad we chose this fantastic scratching post :)

The diameter and stability of the scratching post are excellent. Our post doesn’t smell at all. Climbing, playing, and stretching out are absolutely no problem. Our 11-month-old British Shorthair cat is thrilled. Would happily buy again.

I have 3 moggies and whilst they aren't particularly big cats, they seem to have destroyed every scratching post I have bought for them so far. I was shocked when this arrived as you don't quite realise how big it's going to be, but so far they are loving it and for the price you can't complain.
