Scratch & Play Scratching Furniture

My pretty girl loves this. Jumped on it as soon as we brought her home from the rescue. Scratches it a little but mostly just sits on it. Seems to be her safe space as she runs to it if she a little nervous. She doesn't put her paws through and play with the balls as she's 3 legged but it's a fav thing!

In theory, it's an excellent toy. Most of my cats loved it. But, a major flaw with this design renders it useless as a toy, only being any use as a scratch pad. Within a few days of use, the scratch pad creased in the middle, so the balls could no longer run the length of the box under the pad. This could be easily fixed by adding another pillar of scratch pad under the middle of the pad, as is used to support it under the corners. I would then give it 5 stars, but right now I am disappointed.

I have two of these for my Bengal kittens and they love them. They are quite robust and I shall defintely replace them when they wear out.

ok but limited use - maybe a week. then cat realised the drill and got the ball out very quickly. also would not use it as scratching pad! but nice enough

The lodger (who is now a permanent resident as her previous owner no longer wanted her) started to scratch at the walls and the curtains. She used the boxes (from here) but was still having a cheeky scratch when i wasnt around. This is her absolute favourite, she scratches on it everytime she comes in and lays/sleeps on it. She plays with it on her own and i also poke the feather duster type toy through the sides. Which sends her bonkers and she catapults around the house, coming back to scratch, catch it and eat it. She isn't particularly bothered about the balls but that doesnt detract from it, its a fantastic toy. I will definitely continue to replace it and will buy some for xmas as prezzies for the families furries. Firm favourite and excellent value for money.

I'm just about to order my 5th and 6th of these (this year!) One of my cats in particular can destroy one of these in 2 weeks!! I don't even use the cat nip... Would definitely recommend this, it's strong, sturdy and they love fishing the balls out through the holes. Excellent product, I'm just glad it's inexpensive otherwise it's be costing me a fortune!!

I'm now on the second one, since my cat loved the first one so much she scratched it to bits. Good thing its not expensive, I'll happily keep replacing it. I added in foam balls bought from Zooplus, she loves hunting them through the holes then chasing them around, she'll happily entertain herself with it all hours of the day and night. I know cats can be picky about what they do or don't like, but this and the foam balls are my cat fav. Happy cat = happy Mum.

All my Cats love this even have two ordering a third asto replace original that's still a favourite but now sagging with the weight of biggest cats use when it's weighed down after much use by five cats they will choose it to sit on. They retrieve the balls too. All cardboard scratch items are a big hit beds 5 around the house all well used Plus a joined up king-sized scratch platform 2in 1. My two Birmans (20 and 14 months) go absolutely nuts for this. They have never been especially playful when it comes to small toys but put them in here and they become obsessed! They love cardboard scratching pads so it didn't surprise me that they would enjoy that aspect of this, but it's awesome watching them fish toys out and then drop them back in. My oldest has worked out how to hook the insert out but this doesn't stop either of their enjoyment. They don't seem fussed about the two plastic balls that come with it but they hunting for feathered toys, crinkle balls and mice in this. It's holding up well to a hefty battering as well. Great bargain.

He has been going crazy for this. I put some dreamies and a cat nip ball I got from here inside as well and it's gone down a treat. Well worth the reasonable price!

The cats loved it as soon as it was put on the floor, after a couple of weeks my Akita decided that it was the perfect place to eat her chews! That didn't stop the cats from scratching it up as well, I'm now ordering a replacement as we've had this one for a couple of months and the dog has crushed it :D

My cat Willow adores this, sits on it constantly, loves scratching it, playing on it &with it, best thing we've bought her, lasting well too

Within seconds Echo was on fishing out the balls, but no scratching as yet ( he' a carpet scratching fiend ) Once off of it , it was Soffi's turn and wa rolling around & scratching ! Shes the wallpaper scratching fiend, so I have high hopes that both will be using this as their only place to scratch to their hearts content & give my decor & carpets a rest.....

I was sceptical that our cats would pay this any attention, let alone scratch on it. How wrong I was! Both like it, and didn't need the enticement of the catnip to use it. I found when I did sprinkle that on, it just fell through into the box, which was a bit messy. They have both been successful in getting the belled balls out of the holes, but it is the scratching part they seem to enjoy most.

Bought this for our 3 cats who all love to lie on it and scratch it. One is now very adept at fishing the balls out of the holes, but our African Grey parrot is also very attracted to it but he is a bit more destructive, as he loves to chew this type of card, as well as fishing the balls out. So I am getting another so they won't need to fight over it. Our baby rats like it too, while they can still fit through the holes!

This arrived just today and as soon as I'd taken it out of the packing and placed it on the floor, Trixie was on it, scratching away! I was surprised as I thought I'd need the catnip to encourage but it must be just the right height and shape for her. I did put a little bit of the catnip on it anyway, to treat her, and it's good quality stuff, she rubbed all over it. I'm not sure if she'll use the holes in the middle or on the sides but it's a nice addition and I may encourage her to play with some treats. Also, it's really good that that scratching bit can come out of the box bit for easy cleaning and so you can turn it over when one side is too clawed. Overall, Trixie loves this and I think it's great too!

Perfect scratching furniture for our lady (Mandy), who unfortunately can't go outside because she's deaf... So she scratches indoors, but not on the furniture—she uses several different scratching posts and similar things. She's also discovered the balls inside and can keep herself entertained with them. Since it gets worn out after a few months and needs replacing, it's very affordable. Perfect.

Nagi, the "cat", uses it all the time. He never stops playing on it and scratching his claws. It's great entertainment. Of course, since it's made of cardboard and Nagi is such an energetic "ninja-cat", it lasts about a month – not bad considering it's cardboard and in the paws of a feline X-)) -

The two stars aren't about the product itself but about my cat's satisfaction. She was a bit interested at first but quickly lost interest and hardly ever uses it to scratch her claws.

Wonderful, very interesting, and the favourite toy of my four elderly cats.

My cat loves scratching this box, it works well during a move/travel if you don't have access to a scratching post.

It's ideal, the only downside is that you no longer sell the replacements.

She’s been using this scratching post since she was a kitten. She just can’t do without it. She’s so happy to get a new one that she sits on it as soon as it’s out of the packaging and won’t leave it. How long it lasts depends on how much she uses it, but on average it lasts about 6 months because she loves it and uses it a lot.

Our cats figured out really quickly what to do with this, and both are really skilled at catching the balls inside it. Plus, one of them likes to scratch it every day and the other uses it as a resting spot.

The cat likes lying on it – but that's about it. Neither the balls nor scratching on the furniture meant for it are interesting. My little (lightweight) daughter climbed on it once to reach the table – snap! It broke. Ah well.

My cat sleeps on it and plays with it. She loves moving the balls around by sticking her paw through the holes. Out of all the toys, this is her favourite, and when the cardboard gets worn out, I take it off and she uses it as a bed.

It's the second time I've bought it and they love it. They don't play with the hidden balls that much, but they do scratch it a lot (obviously) or just nap on it.

My two cats (12 and 5 years old) love scratching on it and sleeping there... The balls, though (even when I move them myself), go completely unnoticed.
