Wet food
Whilst I can't comment on dry food since finding wet food my cats lick the bowl clean. So far so good especially as one of my two cats has a thyroid problem and this food doesn't contain calcium iodate all other brands do.

My cats USED to love this
It’s suddenly clicked after reading other reviews on this site that it’s not my cats being fussy, the recipe has changed! No wonder they will hardly touch this food they used to love and one of them has been throwing up.
Won’t be buying this brand again. What a shame.

Awful recipe change
As many others have also found, the change of recipe is really not good for cats, mine included. When reading the latest ingredients, I was horrified to see Citrus Extract.. it is well known that citrus is toxic to cats.. please change it back and remove this awful ingredient!!!

NEW RECIPE CAUSING ALLERGIC REACTION
My cat has been eating applaws for years with no issue. But since buying this last bag he has changed completely and pulled his fur out a lot. Keep an eye on your cats if you buy this new recipe. He doesn’t like it at all now so won’t be buying again.

Cat allergy
We've been feeding kitty Applaws dry food since he was a few weeks old. The last bag has caused him a sever allergy, itchy, hair falling out. Steer clear now

Clearly been a change
We have fed our cat Applaws dry food for years. The last bag that we bought demonstrates that there has clearly been a change in the food. My cat is not eating it as much, is pulling out clumps of his own hair, has a skin irritation and has lots of scabs (some infected!) on his skin. Following some research it seems that other cat owners are experiencing the same issue. He has been treated for a range of possible causes by the vet, none of which have worked; vet says it must be dietary!

changed recipe, my cat won't touch it now
As many others have written before me, Applaws has changed their recipe and now my cat refuses to eat it. It's a real pity as it used to be my cats favourite.

The most recent bag seems to make my cat ill
My cat started throwing up the most recent bag of Applaws. The vet checked him over and said he was ok but he kept throwing up. I have changed his food now to another brand and he is fine. His sister has no problems with the food but needless to say it will put me off buying it again, particularly in view of the unhelpful response from the manufacturer that other people have encountered. .

BEWARE of this new recipe
This food changed completely. I bought a new large bag about 6 weeks ago. It looked different and the smell was different, but the cat ate it so I presumed it was ok.
Then he started throwing up every day (sometime twice or three times a day). I went to the vet about 4 times...still getting sick. Yesterday I bought a new brand of food and hard to believe - he has not thrown up since.
Shame on those people!!!!!!!

Changed
I have exactly the same experience. My cat used to love this but she started refusing it. Now I understand that the company changed not only package but also the recipe.
I'm thinking putting it to bin.

Went from delicious to inedible
What a shame Applaws changed their recipe from something my cats loved to something they would both literally rather starve than eat just AFTER I invested in a 7.5 kg bag. So I have a massive bag of expensive waste. I'm going to donate it to my nearest cat shelter in case those poor kitties are desperate enough to eat the stuff. I'm very disappointed, and rather annoyed, frankly.

A long email from Applaws which said absolutely nothing.
I bought Applaws wet food for my 3 indoor cats when the food I had been buying made their toilet stink - the company had changed the recipe after being taken over.
They absolutely loved it but won't touch the latest delivery, only eating a very small amount when they are very hungry & their toilet smells again. Applaws have changed their dry food & people were left with food their cats wouldn't eat. Applaws has not addressed my query. Very good for profits but not for paying customers.

Made my cat ill, pulling out his fur.
Last year I bought Applaws dry cat food in chicken and duck flavour which my cat absolutely loved. I then ordered a bag of this food in chicken flavour, and another in chicken and salmon flavour. Since feeding my cat these 2 new flavours he's gone from being a healthy and happy indoor cat to pulling his fur out in large clumps. I took him to the vet and they suggested a change in diet might be causing the problem. It suddenly clicked with me that this Applaws food was causing his skin problems. After doing some research and reading reviews on here, I saw other people were experiencing the same thing. I can only assume the food is faulty or contaminated somehow. Applaws have asked me to return the food for testing and I've received a full refund from Zooplus. Please avoid buying this flavour to avoid distress and illness in your cat too.

Cat got sick
Got a new bag of this and my cat came up with scabs on his stomach, vet says it's a food allergy, fed Applaws many times before with no problem. However the food looked and smelled different as others have said so I don't trust it now-bought another brand, not worth the risk.

Recipe changed, caused allergic reaction in my cat
My usually healthy cat suddenly developed a skin rash and itchy scabs after a week on this food. He was on a different food beforehand but had also fed this same variety previously with no problem so I didn't consider the food as the cause.
When the vet diagnosed an allergy, I racked my brains to discover what as nothing had changed-and found the other reviews here. Apparently the recipe has changed and caused problems and bad reactions in multiple other cats too.
VERY UNHAPPY as is the cat!

Applaws dry chicken for kittens
My kitten liked this food but it made her throw up. So I would not recommend this.

applaws chicken cat food
My cat will eat anything but with the chicken he will eat it but then not long afterward he is sick. He is fine with the chicken with extra salmon. Having to throw 2kg away.

Shame the recipe appears to have been changed ????
My cats used to love this food ,but now point blank refuse to eat it or go anywhere near it . The kibbles are darker, courser and have a very strong odour now. zooplus customer service was excellent, arranged a full refund of the purchase price . However, Applaws contacted me asking for the batch number to investigate my concerns, but 4 weeks later I haven't heard back from them . Guess I won't ???
