Didn't work for Milo
It might have been a good product but not sure why, my cat has been steadily losing weight since I put him on Applaws chicken only. So had to switch to another brand altogether, Milo didn't seem too sad about the change, won't buy again.

Smaller bag is different to the big ones
Purchased smaller size bag which was good and kittens loved it. Decided to order the 10kg bag. Once opened it wasn't the same content as the smaller bag, size & colour was different. Kittens didn't eat it.

Allergic reaction?
After reading the other reviews, we're now wondering if one of our cats has had an allergic reaction. Sadly, we've just finished giving them the sample bag. She's almost 2 years old and starting scratching and pulling out her fur. She's on her second lot of antibiotics and and had a bald patch on her head and sores on her neck, legs and bottom. The vets ruled out any sort of parasite. I was just about to buy a bigger bag, but won't now, just in case.

NEW RECIPE CAUSING ALLERGIC REACTION
My cat has been eating applaws for years with no issue. But since buying this last bag he has changed completely and pulled his fur out a lot. Keep an eye on your cats if you buy this new recipe. He doesn’t like it at all now so won’t be buying again.

The most recent bag seems to make my cat ill
My cat started throwing up the most recent bag of Applaws. The vet checked him over and said he was ok but he kept throwing up. I have changed his food now to another brand and he is fine. His sister has no problems with the food but needless to say it will put me off buying it again, particularly in view of the unhelpful response from the manufacturer that other people have encountered. .

my cat becomes allergic to applaws dry food
seems ok food, however when I transitioned from royal canin to applaws I just found out that my cat is allergic. Checked the internet and noticed that this is a common thing for this dry food.

Stinky!!
Brought this to try for my 8yr old DSH indoor cat. After a 2 week gradual change, I have had to dispose of it at 3 weeks - the smell is overwhelming!! Cat seems to like it, we however don't. Would not buy again

Gives my cat runny poos
My cat loves this kibble but it just doesn't agree with her. After even a small portion she gets cowpat poos. She was fine with the kitten version and I'm not sure what's different. I'll persevere for a little while because it seems such good quality but suspect I'll need to move onto another brand.

Recipe changed and now my cat refuses it
My pedigree exotic aged 11 years used to love Applaws dry food but suddenly refused it. It appears Applaws have recently changed the recipe and it also looks different - the kibbles have tiny white bits in it. I also don't like the way it is promoted as 'pre-biotic' - I want a natural food for my cat not a medicine. I have therefore switched to another premium brand - 85% chicken - (but more expensive!) which she adores. A real shame! Luckily she still loves the Applaws tins.

Good for sensitive kitties, bad for our noses
We have 4 cats, 2 of which are bengals, all indoor kitties. We moved to this from royal canin indoor due to one of our bengals tummys not agreeing with it at all, so with this being grain free are high in protein we thought we'd give this ago. & we had no further issues in that department, they all love it & it seems good quality & although I'm not sure about the sheer amount of additives & they eat just as much as ever, & one of our Tabbys has put weight on whilst eating this. However there is another downside, the smell from their stools have gone from near not existent (royal canin) to near unbearable, if the litter box's arnt cleaned constantly through the day they stink the house out. This is difficult as we both work full time.

Disappointed
This is a really good dry food and my cat loves it but it just didn't agree with him. I got the trial pack first and introduced it gradually along with his wet food which was fine at first but when I tried to transition to using it as his main food it all went down hill. He stopped looking for his wet food and only wanted to eat this but it was giving him really loose smelly stools and he was drinking loads of water but peeing a lot less than usual (sorry tmi). I had to gradually cut it out and reintroduce his wet food again because he was going from having the runs when he ate this to being completely constipated if he didn't have any. Now back on bozita as his main food and just the occasional few biscuits of applaws as a treat or if he hasn't pooped for a few days but thankfully that all seems to be getting back to normal slowly but surely.

Great On Paper...
... But not so appealing to the cats. We have a ragdoll girl who loves James Wellbeloved biscuits and so I thought I would try and order this food as it sounds so much better than JWB. I also ordered miamor and applaws tins and she doesn't like any of them. One of the other cats loves the applaws tins but even the dog doesn't hoover up the spilled biscuits (and she will sit at the side of the bowl waiting for a spill of jwb)

Unsure
Trying out variour top quality cat foods and came accross Applaws. Looks were brilliant. BUT made both my cats very very sick. ( I was blaming the dog :( )
I then realised it was the cats as the lumps of orange that were in the tin food were undigested.
I am not left with 24 Tins and don't want to throw away as it was expensive. Shame.
PPS I did buy 4 individual cans from supermarket 1st.
Both cats now been revereted back to Royal Canin.

Great in principal
My cat was on Orijen, and he loved it but wanted to change to a UK based food (Orijen is from Canada!). Unfortunately despite the fact the ingredients are very similer, and indeed I can't taste the difference (I know TMI) have had to give up as my cat has started to vomit water alot. It even upset the dogs tummy when he had some. Back to Orijen then!
