Cat's Best litter has been a favorite for its excellent clumping, odor control, and minimal tracking. Recently, however, users have noticed a decline in quality, with smaller, dustier pellets that crumble and don't clump as effectively, leading to more mess and odor. Despite this, some users still appreciate its odorless nature and ease of cleaning. Many are disappointed and considering switching brands, but others remain loyal due to past satisfaction.

Doesn't deliver what it promises
In search of a cat litter that stays in the toilet and doesn’t get spread all over the flat—especially since I have a Maine Coon mix—I came across this litter and am really disappointed. Even though I keep the litter box in the shower tray, the pellets are scattered all over the bathroom. The clumping could also be better, especially for cats over 6 kilos with a higher urine output. For our little domestic shorthair cat, who weighs less than 4 kilos, it’s the perfect litter (though this litter is supposed to be specifically for long-haired cats), and they tend to be a bit heavier. I’ll be switching back to Cat’s Oeko Plus—if there’s going to be litter in the bathroom, then at least it should clump properly.

Cat Foundation Test
I've been using Öko Plus for years, but it has really gone downhill lately, and I keep finding litter all over the flat. By chance, I came across a tester for this product at the pet shop and decided to buy 10 litres to try it out. A few crumbs end up in front of the litter box, but no longer all over the flat, and it clumps well—just as well as Öko Plus. My cats accepted the test phase without any fuss and were happy to use it. It was a bit noisy when they scratched, but otherwise, I can recommend it. The only downside is that there’s no 40-litre bag; two 20-litre bags take up more space in the cupboard than one big bag. I’m happy to spend a bit more now and have less mess in the flat.

Doesn't clump particularly well...
The litter is actually carried out of the cat litter box less than other types of litter. Still, only three stars because, firstly, the clumping properties are not particularly good (clumps fall apart), meaning the litter needs to be changed more often compared to, for example, Cat’s Best Öko Plus or the comparable one from Tigerino. Another point deducted for the overly high price.

Best litter
The best litter for my three tomcats. Especially for my Norwegian Forest Cat, as nothing sticks to his fur.

Simply Thrilled
I used Cats Best Öko Plus litter for many years for my 5 Coonies and was always annoyed that the litter ended up scattered all over the flat, meaning daily vacuuming was a must. Since I started using this litter, it stays in the litter box and is no longer spread all over the flat. Simply a brilliant product – I won’t buy anything else anymore :-)

Best cat litter for all types of cats - not just long-haired ones
Eco-friendly, absorbent, doesn’t produce any dust and doesn’t spread around the house. The pellets are too large to stick to paws or fur.
I’ve finally found the perfect cat litter!

Super bedding for long-haired cats
I have a Maine Coon tomcat and I'm very happy with this litter. Nothing sticks to his fur, and the "clumps" can be easily disposed of via the toilet flush. When it comes to "number twos," the smell is neutralised by the litter within seconds. Everyone who visits me says: You have a cat? I can't smell a thing.
I can only recommend this litter for long-haired cats.

Perfect for long-haired cats
My two Maine Coons love it, and the flat no longer looks like a sandbox!

Very satisfied
I searched for the right cat litter for a long time and finally found it :-) Since it’s not made of granules, it doesn’t stick to their paws, and I no longer have cat litter all over the flat. Although I don’t have long-haired cats, I can only recommend this cat litter!!!

Big thumbs up to the manufacturer
This is the best cat litter out there. Finally, both cat and owner can feel truly comfortable again! Dust-free, a clean home, and economical use are probably the three most important reasons to choose this product, and they are all fulfilled here! I can only hope this product will remain available in stores for a long time! Brilliant :-)))

Best litter
I’m very satisfied with the litter; I haven’t found a better one so far. It smells much nicer than conventional litter, binds well, and is super easy to dispose of. My Persian lady accepted it straight away and no longer drags half the litter tray around the flat.

Never anything else again...
After trying out various types of litter, I went back to this one a long time ago because it’s simply good. It clumps well, doesn’t get spread all over the flat apart from a few stray pellets, and there’s no "beach effect." All my cats have always accepted it without any issues. The only downside is that not all litter packs are the same – occasionally, some pellets are already a bit "crumbled," which means it can spread a bit more in the bathroom. That’s why I’m only giving 4 stars. Usage is also relatively moderate. And in my experience, it’s cheaper to get it from Zooplus than anywhere else.

My absolute favourite!!
Just like the regular Cat's Best clumping litter, but compressed into pellets. Switching over was easy thanks to the same scent. Due to the more compact form, consumption is slightly higher and the clumping is a bit worse compared to the regular litter, but the advantage that it creates far, far less mess (only the occasional pellet ends up right next to the litter box) definitely outweighs that!

Finally satisfied!
I spent a long time looking for litter that our two British Shorthair kittens wouldn’t constantly scatter all over the flat. At first, I had to mix it with their old litter, but now they’ve gotten used to it, and I’m so happy that I don’t have to grab the vacuum cleaner after every trip to the toilet by our "royal children"! A little tip: we’ve positioned the entrances of the litter boxes facing the wall so they don’t dash out wildly, and we’ve placed a dirt-trapping mat in front, which catches the first crumbs. Brilliant product!

Quality has noticeably declined.
I used to be a strong advocate for this product and was happy to pay the rather high price because I was very satisfied. Now the quality has noticeably declined – clumps crumble apart, making cleaning more difficult, and a lot gets thrown away because many unused pellets end up in the bin. So please bring back the old quality!

My furry feet
I am a very large Maine Coon girl. I have very long fur - a huge tail and very furry feet. This litter is brilliant for me. No mess - good clumping product and my litter tray is always fresh.I even introduced my breeder to it and we are both sure this is the best litter on the market, for long haired cats. Thank you Zooplus!! I'm glad to say that my human agrees with everything I've said.

Could be better
We switched from CB Eco Litter because it spread all over the flat, and vacuuming twice a day became the norm. In contrast, CB Nature Gold spreads much less, which is a huge relief for us. When pouring it in, you immediately notice a pleasant wood scent that lasts for quite a while. However, I do have some criticism: it doesn’t clump well enough, and the clumps fall apart very quickly when you try to remove them, so you really have to be careful. Unfortunately, it’s also not very economical—I find you need quite a lot of it. Despite all this, I’m sticking with this litter, as the advantage of it spreading less around the flat outweighs everything else for me. It would be great if the quality could somehow be improved.

Pros and cons...
We love Cats Best litter!!!
We were always super satisfied with the Öko Plus litter, but it tends to spread all over the flat – so we decided to try Nature Gold.
Comparison results:
+ Less litter in front of the litter box
- Worse clumping (larger clumps that break more easily)
= Almost the same litter, so Cats Best, please introduce another product that ticks all the boxes :D
We have 3 cats and 3 litter boxes! In the bathroom, we have an open box where we’ll now always use Nature Gold!!! The others will continue to get Öko Plus :)

Good litter, but new smell
I really like the litter, and my two cats like it too. But the litter from the last order has a really unpleasantly sweet smell, almost as if it’s perfumed.
I hope this changes again soon.

Scatter question
My testing phase is now complete. I may not have found the holy grail:
Economical,
good odour control,
no widespread scattering around the house.
However, this litter works best for me. The odour control is excellent, even without chemicals. It’s environmentally friendly, and the litter pellets are visible, meaning they’re easy to vacuum or collect. They hardly stick between the paws either.
That’s why I’m sticking with this litter. It’s not the most economical, but the advantages outweigh the drawbacks, and there’s a lack of alternatives.
I can recommend it to all Main Coon or other semi-long-haired cat owners.
Note: The pellets are large and lightweight, so it’s definitely worth buying the litter scoop as well. This significantly reduces consumption, and you’ll feel like you’re panning for gold when cleaning up ;)
