We’ve been using Cat’s Best Öko Plus exclusively for years now, after many disappointing attempts with other litters. I have seven indoor cats of all ages, and they’re also far from impressed with other products. If you’re having issues with odours from “number twos,” you might want to take a closer look at the food you’re feeding them. The fact that it sometimes creates dust or gets scattered outside the litter box is something I’m willing to accept, rather than dealing with that mushy mess from mineral-based litter in the box. Öko Plus composts beautifully and doesn’t harm the environment. That alone justifies the higher price, especially since its significantly better efficiency offsets the cost. If you’re bothered by smells or mess (dust), you might want to reconsider whether you should have a pet at all...

Due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback, I decided to try this cat litter myself. I have three litter boxes and "converted" the one in the bathroom. Upon opening the package, I was greeted by a smell reminiscent of a "carpentry workshop." There's nothing inherently wrong with that (if you like it). I then slowly transferred the litter into the box. Afterwards, I had to rinse my eyes because there was fine wood dust in it (perhaps I made a mistake while filling it?). Okay... the litter was in place and ready for use. One of my cats refuses to use this box entirely. The other cat now prefers to do his business in the bathtub instead. Only the young cat uses it, albeit with bouts of sneezing. The litter isn't just scattered around the bathroom; you can find it in the hallway and other rooms as well. In the bathroom, there's a consistent layer of dust, and the smell in the room has now turned slightly sour. Conclusion: I really don't understand how this product has received so many positive reviews.

In the past, I couldn’t understand why some reviewers mentioned the high dust development. We’ve been using this litter for a long time, I’ve had at least 10 large bags and never had any issues with dust. But now I’ve ended up with one of those bags. Apparently, the filling varies, and for the last bags, only a litter-dust mixture is left. I’ll be ordering the small bags again now.

I've been using this litter for some time now and I'm quite satisfied with it. However, I do see one downside: the dust. My two cats always dig as deep as possible, and this creates dust. It also gets dusty occasionally during cleaning. Over time, the clumps turn into powder, although this might be due to their extreme digging behaviour. The smell of faeces isn't well contained either, but to be fair, I've never found a litter that does this well. It's always smelled bad. As for the issue of tracking, I managed to solve it quite well with a fabric mat. You can get one here for €11. With a plastic mat, more litter gets carried out. All in all, I'm satisfied and will stick with it.

We’ve only been using this litter for 5 days. Based on many positive reviews, I even bought the large bag. By day 2, I was already thinking about buying a different litter, and by day 5 (today), I actually did! So, the downsides: 1. It creates dust when poured, but not excessively. 2. It smells awful throughout the entire flat, even when the cat hasn’t done anything. 3. The smell is absolutely catastrophic after the cat has done a poo. I feel like the faeces combined with the litter smells 10 times worse and spreads throughout the whole flat, as if I had 5 cats (I only have one, 6 months old)!!! 4. The litter gets spread all over the flat, even into the beds—literally EVERYWHERE!!! I have to vacuum several times a day!!! 5. When the cat pees, the urine flows all the way to the bottom before clumping (the litter box starts smelling after just 2 days). Conclusion: You have to dig deep and carefully scrape the clumps off the bottom. 6. The clumps are barely visible; it doesn’t take 3 minutes to clean the litter box like with normal litter, but a full 10 minutes to properly scoop and dig everything out. 7. The litter is very coarse-grained, which makes removing clumps difficult. OK, now for the advantages… I don’t see any!!! Stay away: expensive and bad, an absolute disaster!

This is a cat litter that truly deserves the name clumping litter. It's the best litter on the market.

I won’t buy any other anymore; it’s hardly comparable to the ones available in stores. (I’ve tried many before.) It clumps perfectly and is also super easy to dispose of. My cat loves using his litter box, and it’s absolutely odour-neutral. This litter is 100% worth its price. Just give it a try—I can only recommend it. :-))

My four gentlemen and the one lady consistently avoid this litter, no idea why. It clumps excellently, nothing sticks to the walls of the toilet, odour nuisance is minimal, and the few crumbs that get carried out are quickly cleaned up. I've had the bag sitting here for 8 months now, and there's still no end in sight. Only my eldest (14 years old) uses this litter box occasionally—I think out of pity for me. The cats prefer Golden Grey; even queuing up is accepted.

Clumped litter can be super easily disposed of in the toilet, and the cat litter box doesn’t smell at all! The only minor downside: the lightweight litter crumbs are carried into the flat more often despite the catch mat, but that doesn’t take away from the advantages of the litter! My advice: buy it! (and you don’t even have to carry it yourself, the delivery driver takes care of that ;-) )

I would also recommend this litter to everyone. It’s really very efficient. Since the cat litter box is next to the guest toilet in our house, quick and easy disposal in the toilet is perfect! Unfortunately, even this litter can’t mask the smell of a big business, but it’s very efficient and lasts a really long time! I also have to agree with some others here that the litter is so light that our cat spreads it "almost" everywhere! BUT it’s truly a fantastic litter, and we’re sticking with it! Nobody is 100% perfect!

I've now tried five different types of litter and have ended up with Cats Best – and I'm thrilled. It clumps immediately on the surface, which means no more annoying scraping off the bottom of the toilet, and it binds odours really well. Both of our cats have taken to it brilliantly!!!

We tested various types of litter, from expensive to cheap, but nothing worked. Especially with female cats, the smell is the worst – but with CAT'S BEST, there's no more odour. A colleague recommended this litter to me, and I've been a loyal fan for three years now. I've also recommended it to many friends and acquaintances, and everyone was thrilled. My friend even uses it for her ferrets :-) It's very efficient and therefore very economical to use. Plus, it binds the smell perfectly, and the best part is that smaller amounts can be flushed down the toilet without any issues.

The cat litter is absolutely brilliant, we're totally impressed and can only recommend it!

No question about it, this litter has by far the best odour control of all the products I've tried so far! Another big plus: disposal is easy and convenient. I'm only giving it 3 stars because the litter is extremely dusty. Such a shame! On top of that, the small pellets end up scattered all over the flat. The dust isn't just unpleasant for me, but especially for my two tomcats. They stopped burying their droppings because of it and used their litter box less frequently than usual. Unfortunately, I've now gone back to using Extreme Classic, which doesn't bind odours as well, is much heavier to carry to the compost bin, and also produces dust – but not as badly.

We use it for our dwarf rabbits... they have an open cat litter tray in their room cage, which is used exclusively for their "business." We always sprinkle about 3 cm of Cat's Best in it. This prevents any odour development, and daily cleaning with a cat litter scoop is very easy and economical in terms of usage. Additionally, it's more "digestible" in case a pellet is accidentally eaten – though that doesn't happen! So, it's not just recommended for cats...! Although for our cats, we use a different product (GoldenGrey).

I've tried quite a few clumping litters with my two cats. All the previous ones either started to smell strongly after a while or turned my flat into a "sandbox" after every trip to the litter box. This litter is absolutely brilliant – it clumps instantly and doesn't smell at all. My cats took to it straight away. It does stick a little to their paws, but I think that's normal and happens with every litter. Thanks to the size of the granules, my two cats don't spread it all over the flat; instead, they lose it shortly after leaving the litter box, and it's super easy to sweep up. Fantastic litter! Highly recommended for anyone still looking for a really good cat litter.

It's very economical. However, I find it all over the house – the first bags were dust-free, but towards the end, it did produce dust. For me, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.
