poor quality
For over 10 years, I have been buying your product, and my cats were always satisfied. In mid-May, I purchased 12L. This time, however, the litter was extremely poor in use. It didn’t clump, fell apart, and ended up scattered all over the flat. I have 5 litter boxes, and you can surely imagine how long I had to vacuum. I have 4 long-haired cats. Even your Gold series is all over the flat. What happened? Why has the quality deteriorated so much? The litter isn’t exactly cheap either. Best regards, F. Raecke

For me, the best litter
I have 7 indoor cats and have tried quite a few types of cat litter, but none were as good as Cat's Best!!! I remove the waste daily and top up the litter as needed; a complete refill is only necessary every 3 weeks for us. I’m definitely sticking with this litter because, for me, no other litter compares to it.

Cat Oko plus cat litter
This stuff is amazing and trust me when I say this, it will last a long time. It clumps into like a gel substance and holds adore amazingly well too. I love the stuff. This is my time of using it and will continue to use it.

Absolutely satisfied
My problem before:
Two cats make A LOT of mess...
So much mess that I was worried my general waste bin wouldn’t be enough – but paying for a bigger one just because of the cats? Even worse, the waste in the general bin smelled absolutely awful. On top of that, I didn’t want to run to the general waste bin for every little pile, so I had a separate cat poo bin outside the front door. (Which, in summer, would surely have attracted hordes of flies :-) I also didn’t want to flush the stuff with the non-environmentally friendly litter down the toilet...
What also annoyed me was that everything that usually ends up scattered around the litter box couldn’t be swept up with a broom because the fine clumping litter sticks incredibly well to the tile joints... and I didn’t want to have to get the vacuum cleaner out every time either.
Thanks to a dear colleague at work, who has three tomcats, I discovered the plant-based alternative – and I’m thrilled!
The litter box is in my hallway, near the bathroom door – which has the added advantage of the toilet being close by.
Now I dispose of the “small” business in the general waste and the “big” business down the toilet – no more unpleasant odours (and the amount in the general waste has significantly decreased :-)
The plant-based litter clumps well, absorbs odours effectively – simply brilliant.
When the entire litter box needs cleaning, I can dispose of it in the organic waste bin (or, for those who can, in a forest).
Completely replacing the litter is very rarely necessary, at least from a smell perspective, it doesn’t seem urgent :-)
The crumbs around the litter box are now larger, but sweeping them up is much easier.
And another thing: sifting through during the “treasure hunt” has also become significantly easier!
All in all, I’m just TOTALLY satisfied!
Oh yes: my cats took to the litter immediately :-) They obviously knew they were doing me a favour too.... :-)

Stuck with a litter tray
It clumps very well, but as soon as the urine clump comes into contact with the bottom of the litter tray, it sticks a lot. I've already broken a scoop because the clump is almost impossible to remove from the bottom.

Not suitable for long-haired cats, unfortunately
PRO: The cat litter clumps well and is very economical. My tomcat accepted the litter very quickly, and I can't say anything bad about the smell.
CONTRA: Despite using a mat, the litter gets spread throughout the entire flat. It sticks to the fur of my long-haired cat, and it's honestly a real nuisance! The litter creates quite a bit of dust when cleaning and refilling!
CONCLUSION: Certainly suitable for a short-haired cat, but not recommended for long-haired cats.

Not suitable for our girls
Unlike other cat litter, this one is pleasantly lightweight. Unfortunately, the litter is very dusty and sticks to the paws and fur. Our two elderly ladies (15 and 17 years old) find the cat litter absolutely dreadful. We've already tried mixing in some of the other litter, but the two still prefer to use one of the three other litter boxes with the "normal" litter. Such a shame. Looks like we'll have to keep lugging those 20-kilo bags around. What wouldn't you do for your old girls :-))

Super bedding, but a nerve-wracking experience for the housewife
In terms of quality, it's definitely the best litter we've ever had. Unfortunately, it seems to be static, gets caught in the fur, and ends up all over the flat... really, really annoying! Such a shame!

There’s no better litter.
The clumping is excellent, making it extremely economical to use. It has a pleasant woody scent, doesn’t produce dust, reliably neutralises odours, and most importantly: all nine of my cats accept it without any issues.

SUUUUUUUUPER
The absolute best litter I’ve ever had. Clumps instantly, stays completely odour-free for about 2 months (base filling). My tomcat loves it, and so do I. Great value for money.

I'm convinced, absolutely brilliant!
I buy this litter because you can flush it down the toilet and it doesn’t create dust. It clumps together really well, but I always buy an odour neutraliser to go with it because then you don’t notice the smell as much. Absolutely brilliant!

Unfortunately rejected by the cat.
I personally found the litter good because it doesn’t create much dust, but my tomcat was sceptical from the start. After a long hesitation, he used it once and then never again. Had to switch back to Golden Grey, and now his world is back to normal...

Quality has declined
I’ve always been a loyal CBÖP user, but every now and then I switch to bentonite to try something different. Now I’m back to using it again because the beach effect with the fine bentonite versions was driving me absolutely mad. With CBÖP, this is much more manageable, especially if you have mats placed in front of the litter trays. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that the quality has really gone downhill. The clumping power used to be significantly better, and it now turns into sawdust much faster – which used to be my signal that a complete replacement was needed.
I’m sticking with it though, because otherwise it’s simply unbeatable: disposing of the big business in the toilet, the pee clumps in the organic waste bin, and it genuinely doesn’t smell like urine, unlike so many bentonite varieties. Sure, you need to dispose of the droppings quickly – the odour builds up much more intensely there. But my cats usually only go when I’m around anyway, so that’s not an issue.
The manufacturer really needs to do something about the lack of clumping power!

Dusts and clumps fall apart
This is definitely not a repurchase for me. When pouring it, it creates a terrible amount of dust, and the clumping is poor; when it does clump, everything falls apart as soon as you touch it with the scoop. An excessive amount of residue sticks to the edges and bottom of the litter tray. On top of that, it starts to smell extremely quickly. The only reason I’m not giving just one star is because I want to acknowledge the environmental aspect.

Not as great as reviews
After reading how great the reviews for this product were, we bought a large bag for our 2 cats that share 1 box. It does not cover the smell as well as some other brands we have used. It goes everywhere too! I think it is because the litter is too light. Maybe my cats "kick" it too hard thus it went all around outside of their box and it stuck on their paws too. Will not try this again. Sorry!

Test verdict: Very good!!!
After trying out various types of litter, we’ve finally settled on Öko Cats and won’t be switching again. The price-performance ratio is excellent! I have two indoor cats who share a jumbo-sized litter box, and there’s absolutely no odour. The used litter is super easy to remove from the box. We’re all happy!

Super!
After our move in March, we had to set up the cat litter boxes in the bathroom due to space constraints. This led to the whole flat smelling like a litter box, despite cleaning them twice a day. The stench practically hit you in the face as soon as you walked through the door :P
By chance, I heard about Cat's Best Öko Plus and decided to give it a try.
The first pleasant surprise was the nice wood scent (personally, I really like this smell). I also immediately noticed how incredibly lightweight the litter is, which was another positive.
I can't agree with the claim that this litter is extremely dusty. In my opinion, it doesn't produce more or less dust than other litters.
My cats accepted the litter without any issues. The amount they track out of the box with their paws is no more than with the litter I used before.
Conclusion: a fantastic litter, clumps well, smells good (except, of course, during "number twos"), and is super easy to dispose of in the toilet. And the absolute best part – the flat smells nice again! :)

Super cat litter, also suitable for dogs.
I think the litter is really great. I've ordered the large 40-litre bag now for the second time. It lasts me 3 months for 3 litter boxes.
My dog, who has been familiar with the litter box since she was a puppy from the breeder, takes to the litter very well. I used to always buy Dog Best, but I have to say it's the same litter, and the Cat's Best 40-litre bag is much cheaper. Of course, my two tomcats also like the litter. The litter lasts a long time, about 14 days for sure, and since you can clean it well (remove the urine), the litter box always looks clean.
At the end, when I refill the litter boxes, there's not much litter left because you can easily dispose of it in the household toilet.
I can only recommend it!

Good litter, but not for my tigers!
I tried this litter on the recommendation of a staff member at the pet shop and have to say, there are clear advantages:
1.) super lightweight!
2.) very economical
3.) (theoretically) disposable in the toilet or compostable
4.) wood scent.
However, I must unfortunately say that my indoor cats absolutely refused to cover up their messes with this litter, which led to it smelling quite quickly despite good odour control, so I decided to stop using it.
Additionally, the wood scent is probably not to everyone's taste. Such a shame.
