SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder

This works nicely for my cat who is a grazer and keeps the other one out, it's a shame you can't get a mains plug in version as the batteries do not last long at all.

Now my greedy cat can't steal the grazers food. He got used to it on day 1 and knows what to do. I did get confused with the training steps. You have to click the training button, then treat it like you're feeding everyday (pressing the manual open/close). One issue is that if the programmed cat is sat next to it, you can put your hand past the motion sensors and it opens. So another cat could steal it. Hasn't happened yet though

Works perfectly, although even the fastest close speed is too slow for my greedy chonker so I’ve had to place it on the top of the cat tree where only one cat can get to it at a time. The only criticism I have is that the plastic bowls have given my kitten acne on his chin despite the clear film on them presumably designed to prevent the problem. I’ve found a small ceramic one which fits instead, but it would be good if a ceramic bowl was available to purchase separately.

Transformed our lives - no more having to monitor cat meal times. They have both completely taken to them and it keeps the flies off in the summer. Follow the instructions to introdice them gradually. Only shame is that it's battery powered - a mains powered option would be even better.

We have three of these for our cats which 2 are on special food and medication, so makes it easy, all 3 learn quite quickly how to use them the only reason for not giving 5 stars, is that our 3 are out door cats, and after having a dust bath, the feeders get really dirty and because of all the nooks and crannies you can't get them completely clean as you can't take the sides off to clean under them.

Unfortunately, like only 1 other reviewer, this product seems to be ineffective for my situation. Bought 2 and the greedy cat took to it immediately, but the one who likes to graze won't go near it. He doesn't want to put his head under the arch, and the motor sound terrifies him. Alas, I was so excited for this and feel really sad. Otherwise it's a great product.

I didn’t think my daft cat was going to get it but after almost 6 weeks he’s had a eureka moment and ‘by Jove he’s got it’! We have one cat on a special diet so now he’s learned which bowl is his and all going well. Great idea just give it time and they will get it eventually. Only one design flaw is when on trainer mode the light constantly flashes draining the battery and as with our stupid cat got through lots during that phase.

I put a few treats in the bowl and my cat's chip was registered straight away. The learning process is well designed. My fussy grazer learned to use this within a few days. Now I can leave her food down, safe in the knowledge my other cat - an ex-stray, rubbish bag raider who is *always* hungry - can't steal it. Only negatives are the box wasn't glued together properly and fell apart when opened. And I find the open/close switch sometimes doesn't register it was pressed.

I bought these because the pup kept stealing the cat's food and one cat would lick all the juice off her sister's food! It is a really good product and only got 4 stars because it just won't read the cat's microchips so they've had to wear collars and use the discs intead. I have since moved to the middle east and we have had a phalax of ants makings an exploratory foray in to the kitchen - the seal has kept the ants out of the dishes! And those ants are tiny, like a grain of sand :D

Easy to install. Works well. It's a shame there doesn't seem to be a LARGE version available.

The little door works well.. It almost completely lacks instructions for setting the opening and closing times.. It doesn't show whether the cat has gone through and whether it's inside or outside..

The flap is well made, and the closing mechanism is fairly quiet too. Installation was easy. But here's an important tip: The instructions assume it never rains or gets stormy. That's not the case here. Before fitting the outer panel, you should definitely seal all around the cut-out in the door with silicone, otherwise when it rains, water will get into the wide gap between the outer panel and the tunnel and soak through the door from the inside!

I bought one litter box from you, looks great. And I have one litter box with a closed back. That's perfect, the other cat can't get in.

I have a kitten and a 6-year-old ragdoll tomcat who I think might end up with a hernia eventually. I checked if they had larger sizes, but unfortunately not. Today is the first day, so I hope he’ll be able to stand at it better than he can now. Luckily, they both figured it out really quickly.

I bought this bowl because I had a Labrador who was obsessed with food, including the cat’s. With this bowl, the problem was solved. For wet food, it stops it from drying out quickly, limits smells and keeps flies away… Bought it 4 years ago, it still works and hardly uses up alkaline batteries.

Happy with the end result even though getting there was a bit tricky. Order the mounting adapter straight away if you have metal in your front door, as the metal interferes with the chip reader. I first tried adding an extra air gap at the top, but eventually gave up and bought the adapter so I could cut a slightly taller hole in the door (I didn’t make it any wider). I also received a returned item, which would’ve been fair enough if I’d been given the choice myself or got an extra discount or something like that.

I’m writing this even though I don’t think you’re as silly as I am... I tried out the cat flap in my old house before moving and everything was fine. In the new place, as soon as I installed it on the glass door, I realised it stuck out too much and stopped the shutter from coming down. Even though it was clearly written not to drill or cut the cat flap, I did it anyway, and of course I ended up cutting the circuits and now it doesn’t work anymore (it doesn’t recognise the microchip).

I use this feeder for my 3 cats. They're great feeders! Good portioning for the food, easy to clean, easy to set up and the battery lasts ages. But: if you have multiple cats, it's not ideal. My other cat keeps pushing against the flap until it opens, so she can still get to the other's food, and it's easy to stick a head in from the side and nick some food... So for one cat I definitely recommend it! Not so much if you have more than one.
