Product description

Complete, dietetic dry food for cats with digestive problems, with easily-digestible ingredients in a carefully-formulated recipe to support digestion, nutrient absorption and intestinal flora.

Gentle support for digestion and nutrient absorption:
Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Gastrointestinal is a scientifically-developed dry food that is specially tailored to the needs of cats with malabsorption, digestive problems or impaired pancreatic function. Easily-digestible ingredients relieve the gastrointestinal tract, while selected minerals help to balance electrolyte losses.

Intestinal flora and acceptance:
The recipe contains mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS) and fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS), which support a balanced intestinal flora. With an increased sodium and potassium content and high acceptance, this food is ideal for sensitive cats.

Do not buy new recipe

The new recipe has a high % of corn. This made my poor cat have explosive diarrhea. Corn should not be included in cat food.

The Best

These biscuits are the only brand which have helped my kittens runny poos go back to solid again, tried more expensive ones, these are the best for him

Gastrointestinal kibble.

I recently bought this when my Ragdoll developed Colitis. I mix it with Iams hairball kibble as 2 of the 3 cats are fluffy. They all seem to love it and I have noticed that the 11 year old no longer has strong smelling poo. The ragdoll has recovered and is eating normally again so I will continue to purchase it.

No Good For My Cat

My 5 year old BSH has chronic diarrhea for over a year. We are eliminating foods with vet advice. All tests have come back fine. This was on the list. Unfortunately it didn't help my cat. On to the next!

The best Gastro food out there

One of our 4 Maine Coons has absorption issues and so this and it's wet food equivalent were an easy choice to try. It has been universally accepted by all 4, to the point of them ignoring previous favourite foods. Without question it has sorted out all of the big lads issues, and while it isn't cheap, it's chesier than most and is also grain free, unlike some premium veterinary brands. Buy with confidence, great food.

My IBD cat is thriving on this!

After 7 years of trial and error I have finally found the perfect food for my IBD cat! No more vomiting or runny stools and the vet has just confirmed that he has gained a kg in weight! I'm so happy! My other 7 cats enjoy the food too! Highly recommended!

Great stuff!

I decided to try this for two of my cats that have been having loose, slimy & bloody poop for a while. I have tried everything, including some other brands of gastrointestinal food. Nothings works. I decided to try this brand as they’re already on the urinary one after reading the reviews. It’s amazing! Works like magic. No more, loose, slimy and bloody 💩. Defo no more horrendous smell that comes with it as well. Highly recommend this products.

Yum

Ziggy seems to really enjoy it as much as the more expensive brands he has tried. I am pleased that it improves his gut health.

Brilliant

This is the only cat dry food that makes my Persian cats stools normal. I must have tried every brand by now and they all give him the runs. Would recommend this highly for cats with sensitive digestion . Give it a try. I did.

He took one sniff, then refused it

I should clarify that my cat is a very fussy eater. He's very food motivated, and when he finds a food he likes, he won't stop demanding more. I'm sure most cats enjoy this just fine, but my little Biscuit hated it, and I'm reviewing on his behalf. My last cat Betty died of kidney disease, and she was a big fan of Concept for Life's renal range.

Cannot praise enough!

I adopted a 6year old sphynx cat, from the day I got him he had terrible diarrhea. He was on a raw food diet but it didn't seem to suit him. Took him to the vets he had worming treatment and was given clean bill of health but still the trouble continued.Vet suggested slowly transition him on to hills gastro food, 3 weeks later no improvement. Then suggested Royal Canin gastro one. Still problem continued. I ordered this as last resort and within 48 hrs, success!! solid poo. He's so much happier.

Brilliant food and stops diarrhoea

One of our cats had diarrhoea with mucus and blood in it and has been on Hills Z/D. It works but she had no variety, didn't enjoy it much and has always been skinny. Had a free sample of the Concept sensitive skin which she tolerated really well then bought this: the Gastrointestinal food. She absolutely loves it. No diarrhoea! We've still got her on the Z/D but the Concept is much cheaper, she is putting weight on and her fur is glossy. I think insect protein is more natural for cats too.

Tried all the others and this works

My cats have had runny poo that nothing had cured except for the most expensive vet diet available and with 3 cats this was unsustainable. They have had extensive tests and the vet thought it must be diet related. I tried all other gastro diets on them and they didn't help enough. This one has stopped the runny poo. The cats enjoy it and the price is good.

Very Good Food - she loves it

My cat was vomiting pretty regularly and I got her checked by the vet and specialist, they couldn't find anything but suggested a GI food or sensitive food to try as her digestive system may be inflamed. Since she started this food she hasn't thrown up at all. I give her this along with the Kattovit Sensitive cans, she loves them and has been really healthy and happy ever since.

Not happy

My cat has gastrointestinal problems and I was hoping this food will be good for her. Big mistake! She is vomiting more than before from this food.

Great food and it really helps!

Our mother cat hat diarrhea for a long time (no parasites or anything), we tried lots of different things but nothing really helped for a long time. We ordered this dry food as a supplement, and she took to it straight away, plus it really helped. I will always buy it when there's gastro-intestinal problems to take care of.

Excellent dry food

My cat loves this dry food. It has really helped eliminate all the symptoms of IBS and along with the wet food has helped improve her quality of life. She was losing weight because she wouldn't eat any other gastrointestinal food. I would say Concept for Life has saved her life.

Very good

I have two cats at home. One of them spent several months living on the street and the poor thing has a range of gastro-intestinal problems. Since eating this food, he has got much better. And both of them love the food and look forward to their meals.
