Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Renal is a premium complete wet food for adult cats with kidney issues. When renal function is impaired it compromises the kidney's abilities to perform efficiently. Toxins and protein wastes are not eliminated properly, and the kidneys become overloaded. If your cat is suffering from kidney disease it needs a diet that relieves and supports the kidneys. Insufficient or low fluid intake combined with an acidic urinary environment can lead to the formation of bladder stones such as calcium oxalate or uric acid stones. The appropriate mineral content and urinary pH values can help to reduce the risk of bladder stones.

How can Concept for Life Veterinary Diet Renal help your cat?
This premium therapeutic food has been specifically developed for cats with renal problems and is optimally adapted to suit their nutritional needs. It has a low protein content and is made using only top-quality protein which produces fewer toxins and waste products such as urea. It is also low in phosphorus which helps to reduce the work the kidneys must do. Cats with renal issues are often unable to eliminate excess phosphorus and this can overload the kidneys. This tasty food is also low in calcium, vitamin D and purine, which helps to reduce formation of calcium oxalate and uric acid kidney stones. A balanced ratio of minerals helps to counteract over-acidic urine. Cats with kidney disease often suffer from loss of appetite. Concept for Life Veterinary Diet – Renal is well accepted.

Concept for Life Veterinary Diet – tailored therapeutic  nutrition for your cat.

Cat tried some, but didn't like it

I bought this food for my senior kitty with kidney disease. She was initially interested in it, but after a few days lost interest and was refusing to eat. In the end we switched to a different brand.

Cat did not like this at all

This smelled very strongly and one would have thought it would be attractive to the cat but the cat just refused to eat this at all.

Great for picky senior cat

My senior cat is extremely fussy and I have tried many different renal diets, most of which she refused to eat. I bought a pack of this to see if she’d even touch it – and to my surprise, she actually likes it! She eats a good amount each time, which is such a relief. Very happy to have found something she’s willing to eat.

Smells terrible and the cat just won’t eat it

Bought it to try on my renal deficient cat but she won’t eat this. It really smells very strongly and one would imagine it would induce a cat to eat it but no.

Our old lady loves it

First renal diet she will touch and I think we tried 4? She doesn't like it if it dries out so little and often but otherwise no issues.

Smells strongly, cat won’t touch it

Smells really strong and unpleasant. Thought this strong odour might be attractive to the cat but no, she won’t go near it.

Concept for life cat food.

Bought for a cat that will try out most foods however, this She blatantly refuses to try and sadly missed my deadline for exchange on boxes unopened as wasn’t aware at the time that I could exchange etc. Waste of money.

Rubbish

Smells and looks disgusting. I have a very fussy cat and she will only eat this when absolutely starving - 1st thing in the morning. Bought this cos it had fairly good reviews and priced reasonably. Will have to look for another Renal food. Very pleased with Zooplus though, always delivery very quickly.

not great

I was hoping to give our senior cat, who has some kidney issues, a bit of variety in her diet. Unfortunately, she wouldn’t even lick it after a sniff—the smell was quite unpleasant. The problem with renal cat food isn’t just the ingredients, but also making it palatable to felines. Sadly, this one was a complete miss for us.

Could be useful!

Fussy old lady cat with failing kidneys, so far this is only the second renal food she has accepted. Despite it being her second breakfast managed half a sachet straight off. Hopeful she will continue..

Concept renal cat pouches

Been looking for renal cat food without grain corn etc has cats got asthma time will tell if she’s allergic to anything in it but went straight to dish and could not have enough said slow down also she’s a very fussy cat that will turn nose up if she don’t like it and bought 1 box to try

No chunks in the sauce

Unfortunately, I didn’t properly check the consistency of the food before buying it. I was expecting chunks in gravy, but since it has more of the texture of food from aluminium trays, my cat won’t eat it.

"Love IT"

My cat loves this food, it’s very well tolerated. The compactness of the food is excellent, making it perfect for hiding tablets in it. The smell is also very pleasant. I can only recommend it!

Not acceptable at all.

Neither my cat with kidney disease nor the other three cats will touch this food.

It tastes good.

Our tomcat is extremely fussy. We've tried all kinds of food, and with this one, he even asks for seconds! Hopefully, it stays that way... If not, it's down to the cat and not the food.

The food is loved.

Our Josie has recently had to start eating kidney diet food. Luckily, the food from the vet is accepted, but she absolutely loves this Concept for Life food... and its composition is very similar to the other one.

Good feed

It's hard as a layperson to judge whether a food is good or not. My cat now has to cope with CKD and is already quite picky. I ordered the best kidney diet food Zooplus has to offer and now have to ensure regular variety. This food is actually chosen over all the others provided... until she decides she wants something else again. For me, it's a small repurchase item.
