:"So my 20 year old cat says. He is very fussy but never leaves any of the integra Nieren in his bowl. Gradually putting on all the weight he lost after he was diagnosed with renal problems. Thank yo"
Specially designed food for cats with limited kidney functions. It is easy to digest & efficiently absorbed due to its reduced protein and phosphorous content. Grain free with no artificial additives.
Reduced kidney function and renal disease can have many causes in cats. It often results from a previous illness, or can be caused by nutritional or hereditary factors. Cats with renal problems require a special diet with a reduced content of protein and phosphorous.
Integra Protect Renal is a balanced wet food that addresses these specific needs and helps to relieve the kidneys. Cats with renal problems are typically not able to digest high levels of phosphorous and have difficulty eliminating the by-products of protein. Food too rich in protein can often risk further compromising an already hampered pair of kidneys. This is why the protein and phosphorous content of Integra Protect Renal has been reduced. The protein used is of the highest quality in order to compensate for your cat’s need to consume it in relatively small quantities. The recipe is completely grain free, making it suitable for cats with grain or gluten intolerances. It contains potato as an easily digestible and nutritious source of carbohydrates.
The ease with which cats can digest Integra Protect Renal sets it apart from its competitors. In the interest of promoting optimal nutritional levels in your pet, the recommended daily ration should be divided amongst three meals a day if at all possible.
Integra Protect Renal at a glance:
Complete food for cats with limited kidney functions
Dietary food for kidney relief
Reduced protein and phosphorous content
Grain free: suitable for cats with grain or gluten intolerances
With potatoes: a nutritious and easily digestible source of carbohydrates
High quality proteins: to supply the necessary protein within a reduced quantity
I think it's the consistency of it, it' slike a giant glob of paste, not very succulent. If your cat likes food on the wetter side I would avoid this as you will be wasting money. Going back to Purina Pro Plan.

Chicken flavour
Cat will eat the chicken flavour but will stop and waste the rest. Sadly none of my other cats will eat it either.
If I can’t get it past four very different cats with four very different tastebuds. I think it’ll be difficult for others as well. Thankfully it’s reasonable priced so I don’t feel too awful and have fed the rest to the neighbourhood foxes and they’re quite happy with it.

Not so good
My cat has always eaten meat when put down to him as a treat as hes fed dry complete, however this meat he wouldn't even touch, and on closer inspection it was full of grizzle/fat and the meat looked stringy and was very watery wouldn't reccomend

Most appealing
Tried to get my cat to eat many different renal wet foods without success until I found this one. It looks the most appealing too. Very moist and juicy. So grateful to the makers of this product. Some of the negative reviews nearly put me off so am so relieved I gave it a try.

bring back the turkey flavor
Why have you stopped the turkey flavor.
My cat will only eat this one.
Not happy with integra.

full of gristle and fatty bits
My cat would not even smell it. On close inspection, it looks like it's just bits of gristle and fat with little muscle meat. Won't buy again.

Causing digestive problems
Our cat was on this for a few months. Whilst he loved it, it has caused him digestive problems and a lot discomfort. His poos became runny, extremely pungent and toxic (he'd deposit them in the middle of our small gaden to tell us of his suffering and the grass was "burned" by it and still shows the marks).
The moment we stopped giving him this food and moved him to sensitive wet food (but still on renal dry food), he started doing solid poos, is much happier and looks healthier.

At last!
Finally, a kidney friendly food my felines will actually eat! Paul loves this food and Bonnie, who doesn't need it, sneaks any leftovers too so we know we're covered if she does ever experience kidney problems herself in the future. It's great to have a good range of flavours too - thank you!

Cat loves it
My cat has just had a diagnosis so decided to give this food a try. She really enjoys pate type food and she really loves this one.

Not pleasant
My cat wasn't at all keen on this food. There were quite a few bits of what looked like toenail or gristle in it too. Next.

Cat with kidney disease loves this food
This brand is the only product my cat will eat and has kept her going for 3 years after first diagnosis of kidney disease. Recommend trying the turkey flavour. Thank you Integra & zooplus.

Great for my cat with CKD
My cat with CKD will only eat this food. Great stuff.

Cat Doesn't Like It
Our cat, who will usually give any brand a go and loves his food, just will not eat this (neither pork or turkey). At first we thought it had chunks of pork in it, which was a change to the other pate like renal brands, but on closer inspection the chunks are actually fatty and grizzly. The only good thing about it is that it doesn't have a strong odour like other brands.

Our CKD cat loves this but it is out of stock regularly
Our 19 year old cat loves this product and these are the only renal food she enjoys. Frustratingly the chicken / turkey flavours are regularly out of stock. For anyone else who has a cat with kidney disease, would highly recommend an inexpensive cat water fountain and to try (after consulting your vet) the product Semintra which is a liquid and is easily administered unlike tablets.

A wonderful find!
My elderly cat of 18 years has been suffering from kidney failure for over a year. It was very difficult to get her to eat any of the other Renal Food until I found Integra Protect. She really enjoys this food and is not lost any further weight. Really recommend trying this product if your can is diagnosed with real failure.

My cat loves it
My cat is very fussy but she loves this food so much that she is trying to eat it as I'm putting it in her bowl, never had this reaction from any other food!
