Top Angel. Weak point: springs.
The fishing rod is really top-notch; our two cats go absolutely wild for it. One of them, our Lilli, even drags the feathers into her hideout.
The weak points of the rod (we ordered six straight away because the foster home where we got the cats also had them) are, firstly, the feathers—sometimes individual feathers come off, and sometimes the whole feather bundle tears off. Secondly, the rod is made of two parts, and the connecting section is poorly or inconsistently manufactured. Sometimes you can't get it apart, and other times it won't stay together and comes apart into two pieces with the slightest pull.
All in all, for the price, it's great value for money.

Not suitable as a toy
Unfortunately, I had to realise that this cat wand is absolutely unsuitable as a toy. First, I held the feathers under water, and they immediately started to bleed colour! I don’t want my cats chewing on something that bleeds colour and is probably toxic as well! Then I took a closer look at the stick and discovered that it’s made of fibreglass and splinters when it bends!!! This means tiny fibreglass particles come loose, get inhaled by me and my cats, and settle in the lungs!!! I find this terribly frustrating and wonder why more suitable materials can’t be used!?

Great, but not very sturdy
Our visiting tomcat spent hours playing with it, even on his own. However, after just two days, the glory was unfortunately over – all the feathers had been pulled out, and now the toy is no longer interesting to him. Conclusion: For very lively, play-"crazy" tomcats, this isn’t quite the right toy, as it has a very short lifespan. It’s more suitable for small, delicate kittens who just want to hunt every now and then.

Okay, but could be improved!
Got this fishing rod from the breeder.
GOOD: Finally, a rod with a large action radius! With a bit of practice, you can create interesting sounds while swinging it.
LESS SUCCESSFUL: The rod consists of two parts, and the connection isn't very secure. Gluing it is a must. The feathers should also be more firmly attached.
NEUTRAL: The feathers wear out over time. You can always attach a different toy later. A new rod isn't too expensive – unless you have extremely wild furry friends... :-)

Super!
Absolute recommendation! Our Maine Coon loves it! Sure, the feather attachment sometimes comes off, but so far it’s always been fixable with a new knot.
Absolute favourite toy, and all that at a fantastic price.

Breaks far too quickly
The cat wand doesn’t break because the handle is detachable. However, the cat tears off the "little bird" far too quickly, and then the detachable handle that’s left becomes useless :(

Super toy!!!!
It’s true that the rod doesn’t last long with full-on play, but you can easily fix it yourself with a bit of insulating tape and a touch of finesse. My two Norwegian Forest cats absolutely love it and have so much fun.

That brings joy!
Our cat Benny is an indoor cat and absolutely loves the cat wand – we've rarely seen him so active. Even if the feathers come loose, it's not a problem as you can easily reattach them with a needle and thread. We'd definitely order it again.

Didn't last a minute
Unfortunately, as mentioned in other reviews, the fishing rod didn’t last a minute with us before all the feathers came off.

Great toy, but
From the idea, it seemed like a great toy that gave my two very active tomcats half an hour of immense fun, but afterwards, it was dismantled into its individual parts. The feathers kept falling out of the attachment, which then became the substitute toy. But even this plastic cap broke in no time at all. The play stick, which was slotted together, kept coming apart as well. It really is a toy that my cats had a lot of fun with and would have loved to enjoy for longer. It would be great if it were made in a sturdier version, even if it meant it would be more expensive.

Cats turn into hunters!!!
An absolutely fantastic product, it's a different kind of cat wand ^^
It's so much fun to swing it around.
Plus, it actually makes fluttering sounds like a bird!!! Campino and Luna were completely captivated from the very first moment, running wild and chasing the bird with full enthusiasm!!
I can only recommend it, and on top of that, it's a great price :)

What fun!
Both my tomcats love feathers. So far, we haven’t dared to try the expensive version from the USA, so we wanted to test how our little tigers would react to this wand first. And I have to say: We’re thrilled! I enjoy swinging the wand back and forth, and my cats (even my lazy Murphy) go absolutely crazy chasing after it, doing the most amazing somersaults in the air! Incredible. The wand also seems to be quite sturdy. Unfortunately, Murphy won’t let go of the feathers once he’s grabbed them. There’s growling – and it’s something else! Let’s see how long the wand holds up. All in all: Brilliant!

Cats are extremely excited, but...
Unfortunately, unfortunately, the fishing rod was completely shredded by the third day, despite multiple repairs with tape! However, my cats have never gone so crazy over a toy! That’s why I’ve ordered it again – this time as a 3-pack. ;-)

Lots of fun, but not very sturdy.
My cats are absolutely crazy about the feather wand and want to play with it every single day. The feathers are attached to a rotating joint and actually look like a flying bird. Even the fluttering sound encourages the cats to chase after it enthusiastically.
Unfortunately, the feathers aren't very durable. My cats immediately start chewing on them, which causes the feathers to come loose from the rubber tube that holds them together. You can sort of put them back together again, but it's not really very sturdy.
Still, it's a fantastic toy for an unbeatable price.

My cat loves it!
My cat is already an older lady and not so easily impressed by toys anymore, but this play wand works brilliantly! The sound it makes when flying drives her absolutely wild, and if I put it away, she meows because she wants to keep playing. Durability has been good so far, top product!

Totally inspiring
I bought this fishing rod a few weeks ago. My cat goes absolutely wild when I play with him. It's his favourite toy. I'm now buying another one for my neighbour's cat because I've been raving about it so much.

Shame, breaks easily
The idea is actually good. Flying through the air, it makes fluttering noises that encourage play! My cat broke the wand after a short time, so I bought another one. But that one lasted just a day! The feather part comes off the wand really quickly. So unfortunately, only 3 stars!

Suuuuuper toy!
Super awesome product! My cat is absolutely crazy about this thing, and it really does look like a bird from behind ;) I also love the extension on the stick! Of course, after a few days, one or two feathers might fall off when the cat goes wild jumping at it and chewing on it. But if you stick the individual feathers back together with some duct tape, stuff them into the black piece, and, if necessary, secure them with a needle and thread, the whole thing is quickly reassembled and ready to soar through the air again. Plus, I think you really can't complain for the price. A bird wouldn't keep flying either if the cat jumped on it like that. I'll keep ordering this toy again and again and can wholeheartedly recommend it!!

The cat loves the "bird".
I had no idea how athletic my kitty is. She jumps up to 1.50m to catch the feathers – unbelievable... Yes, the thing does break quickly, but for the price and the fun, it's brilliant!

More than just a quick bit of fun
Unpacking and assembling took longer than the playtime. As soon as the cat caught it for the first time, the feathers tore off and can’t be reattached. Both the cat and the owner are disappointed. :-(
