Cat's Best Original Trial Size - 5l

Apart from being carried everywhere by the cat, there are no faults.

I have a BSH kitten and this tracks everywhere, I would find litter all over the house. It clumps ok and doesn't smell, but I prefer the smart pellets one

cat got it all over the house took ages to clean up,and had to throw away the rest as it was too messy

when used my Persian cat got all the litter stuck to his feet and all over the floor had to throw it away after a few days made a mess every where

After trying catsan, wood pellets and clay I have been looking for a clumping litter that is cleaner. Clay is so sticky and the urine spreads. Saw this and wondered if it really would be better. Ordered the 40l which was not much more expensive than the 9l clay clumping that only lasted a week. Arrived in 2 days and so far seems to be doing great. A few grains outside of litter box but that happens whatever I use. And lo and behold a mini mountain of wee! I'd upload a pic but can't see an option

We wouldn't use anything else. At one time we had three cats who all used two litters trays in the house and there was never a "cat" small when using this litter.

My cats have been using this for years and I can't think why some reviews don't rate it?!! Im fussy and so are my cats (4 of them) I've bought and tried many in the past and non come close. I always buy the 40L size which lasts ages, and I don't skimp on the amount put in the litter trays. There are plenty of litter products out there but this, in my opinion, can't be beaten. Try it !

Best cat litter ever!!! It is all what I was expecting from a cat litter! Biodegradable, clumping, flush and odour absorbing! It is just fantastic!!

When I opened the bag I was quite impressed, smell was like a sawmill, looked pleasant. But, Oh dear, don't buy if you have lots of hairy cats, it tracks everywhere :-( . The clumps are rather sticky gluey affairs, that break up easily. When a cat first poos on it, the smell is really enhanced, but it does work after a while, I am still searching for that perfect litter, and sadly, this isn't it :-(

After trying out loads of different ones, cheap as well as expensive.. This is brilliant! The only times the smell comes out, is when the cat failed in her attempt to cover a stinky one.

The litter hides the smell well but tracks a lot. I use a Modko Modkat and when I used Worlds Best I had zero tracking, but with Cats Best I keep finding it everywhere. The large granules do not sift through the Litter Locker scoop and I pick up a lot of clean litter granules. Its okay but I am going to stick to Worlds Best

Glad I was able to purchase a trial sized bag because this littler definitely isn't the best. Lots of unnecessary waste due to the large size of the litter itself. World's Best is superior at clumping and only the unclean litter is left in the scoop which makes it much better value for money. With Car's Best I'm throwing away a lot of perfectly good litter because it's too big to be filtered out by the scoop. I've also found that Cat's Best doesn't clump very well and there is a lot of urine seeping through to the bottom of the litter tray instead of being soaked up. Very disappointed after reading so many positive reviews.

I have to say, I was really disappointed in this litter. Although it clumps, smells and looks ok it is not worth the full price of £3.99 for 5L. Luckily I bought it on offer. They were selling a maximum of 2 bags for £1 each. I used to buy Wilko's own clumping litter which I stopped getting in favour of getting litter delivered to my home as carrying it home was difficult. This was my first attempt at finding a substitute. The Wilko clumping litter works similarly but with two bonus features, it tracks a lot less than this and lasts longer! A 10L bag of wilko lasts a month for my one cat whereas 2 5L bags of this made it to just about 3 weeks. I should also point out that this bag is barely enough to get the desired depth in my small/medium sized litter box and as you start taking out the clumps you start to need the the second bag quick. I might buy it again if I see it on offer as my cat was ok with it but never at full price. Its just not worth it. Sadly this is not the litter I will be replacing the Wilko one with, but thankfully I also bought a bag of Biokat's Micro clumping litter with this, which I have very high hopes for.

Same as other reviews, the clumps don't clump particularly well at all, some of the much cheaper clay ones knock spots off this fairy pricey one. It also tracks everywhere, my poor kitten was trying to help by banging his feet on his tray for ages, but it still got walked through the entire house! I'm glad I just tried the trial bag as whilst it works out more expensive per litre, it would have been a lot of money wasted on a bigger bag.

I have 2 Bengals who like a good poop once, usually twice a day (and for some reason only when I am around - they certainly tell me to sort their tray out that's for sure!) I've been using a Te*co clumping litter... great value that it is, there is still a little ickle bit of a smell. Not that I'm to bothered about that - cats are cats and well, they have to poop and wee like us all. So I tried the trial to check it out and mixed it up as a layer on top of my cheapo lumping litter and bosh... no smell.. smells of err.. well cat litter without the cat sample so to speak. Now this isn't the cheapest but with a lightish sprinkle on top of the cheaper super market stuff (it does ofc get mixed in with some boisterous cat scraping) and that fact I didn't need to change the whole lot for 10 days, I feel it's value. Oh there is a bit of travel ish.. hardly concerning and no different to the other stuff. Like with all cats, just vacuum the area - job done. So the outcome... yup I am going to buy a load more... but not use it exclusively but as a mix with my clay clumping supermarket brand

I bought this because of the good reviews, but find it expensive and extremely messy. The litter gets everywhere and the clumps are like glue. I will go back to the wood pellet litter. Obviously I am in the minority, but - each to his own!

I initially bought this and thought it was good, I then bought a 40l bag - oh my goodness, what an absolute mess - it gets everywhere. I've even bought a carpet sweeper as the vacuum cleaner was permanently in the conservatory. Yes it clumps well and hides odour, but to be honest, I won't be buying it again.

We've used Oko Plus for our two cats for two years now, and have been adding it to our compost bins in the garden with care - ie in mixed layers, not huge quantities at once. This used litter has NOT rotted down, contrary to how this product has been advertised. We are very disappointed at having now been forced to throw it out with the rubbish. I'll be taking this point up with the manufacturers. PS Otherwise, it's great...

It's true, this is our first pack, but we're happy with it. Our kitty used to do his business on paper towels, but he quickly took a liking to this litter. It's great for keeping the litter box tidy every day and it does a really good job of masking smells.

We used this litter for about 15 years and were always very satisfied, especially with how well it controlled odours. We had a 3-year "cat break" and have now ordered the litter again. After just one week, you can clearly smell the litter box in the flat. I'm massively disappointed.

The litter used to be really good, but now the pieces have become smaller and drier, which creates more dust. My cat has had to cough more often because of this. I wish it would go back to how it was before. Until then, I'll have to find something else :(

There were probably fungus spores in this bag. I bought it a while back when I still had some of the other one left, so we only started using it recently. But once we did, about a week later, first my smaller cat started sneezing and had watery eyes, then the bigger one started coughing badly. I changed all the litter to tofu because I thought it was just the dust... but there was a bed where this stuff was stuck, and when my dog sniffed it and immediately started choking, that's when I realised this must be the cause. Only a few litres are missing from the whole bag... I'm furious.

Unfortunately, the litter smells rather unpleasant and it gets spread all over the flat. It sticks to the carpet. The odour control is really insufficient. Sadly, a disappointment.

We used this cat litter for over 10 years with our six cats – unfortunately, the quality has noticeably gone downhill. It now creates a huge amount of dust, and the fine particles spread all around the litter boxes and throughout the room. The clumps fall apart quickly, and the odour control just isn’t as good as it used to be. It’s a real shame – after more than 10 years, it’s time for our six furry friends to switch litter! 😿🐾 Let’s see if they’re happy with the new “toilet arrangements”. 😉

No other litter is this good. It forms nice clumps and doesn’t smell.

We've been using it for 5 years and we're very happy with it (we have 2 cats) – the quality, price, and durability are outstanding. It's true that it leaves some dust and the cats spread it around a bit, but honestly, anything else we've tried ended up being dragged all over the house anyway.

Unfortunately, we too have to say that the litter is no longer as good; the formula seems to have changed. What I regret most is that the odour control has gotten worse. The litter used to stay in the cat tray for well over a week before you could even smell any cat urine. Now, after just one or two days, the smell spreads in the room—not as bad as with regular clay litters, but still noticeably.

We once tried an alternative product, also from Cat's Best, in pellet form. But this Cat's Best Original is simply the best cat litter. It smells like fresh wood. It's super absorbent, the clumps are easy to remove from the rest of the litter and don't smell in the collection bin. Even with two cats, the litter box only needs a thorough clean every four weeks. Economical despite the price.

I have two male cats. Merlin didn't accept it and instead did his business in the flat. Such a shame.

We’re really happy with the litter – it clumps very well and lasts a long time, since you don’t have to empty the whole tray all the time. It does create a bit of dust, but it’s sooo much more pleasant than other types of litter we’ve used before. We’re very satisfied :)

It used to be good years ago, but now it's ridiculously expensive and the quality has dropped so much that it smells bad, doesn't clump, and turns to dust by the second day. My cats don't want it anymore and I'm not surprised. The whole house smells awful and that's another customer they've lost.

I bought this litter on the recommendation of friends who use it and praised its quality a lot. Unfortunately, for me and my cats, it turned out to be a nightmare. The litter was tracked not only all over the bathroom but throughout the entire flat, even though I had a special mat in front of the litter box. It looks like oat flakes and even behaves similarly when it gets wet. It doesn’t clump; yes, it forms a ball, but it’s muddy. It sticks to the bottom of the litter box and falls apart when the cat digs in it. I do not recommend it.

I wanted to try this product to have a more natural smell from the litter and less dust in the bathroom. Unfortunately, it ended up disappointing me overall. The scent is indeed very pleasant, but it doesn't absorb urine well enough, so everything breaks up into small chunks when you try to remove it with the scoop.

I've always used this litter and been really happy with it, but lately it's been giving off loads of dust. Even when I scoop it, I end up coughing from all the dust—imagine what it's like for the cats. I'm thinking about switching to a different one.

The sand is very dusty, which is a shame because it goes a long way and clumps well.
