Cat's Best Original Trial Size - 5l

Great value for money but very dusty, I struggle myself with the dust when i am scooping.

I have a BSH kitten and this tracks everywhere, I would find litter all over the house. It clumps ok and doesn't smell, but I prefer the smart pellets one

When I opened the bag I was quite impressed, smell was like a sawmill, looked pleasant. But, Oh dear, don't buy if you have lots of hairy cats, it tracks everywhere :-( . The clumps are rather sticky gluey affairs, that break up easily. When a cat first poos on it, the smell is really enhanced, but it does work after a while, I am still searching for that perfect litter, and sadly, this isn't it :-(

The litter hides the smell well but tracks a lot. I use a Modko Modkat and when I used Worlds Best I had zero tracking, but with Cats Best I keep finding it everywhere. The large granules do not sift through the Litter Locker scoop and I pick up a lot of clean litter granules. Its okay but I am going to stick to Worlds Best

I have to say, I was really disappointed in this litter. Although it clumps, smells and looks ok it is not worth the full price of £3.99 for 5L. Luckily I bought it on offer. They were selling a maximum of 2 bags for £1 each. I used to buy Wilko's own clumping litter which I stopped getting in favour of getting litter delivered to my home as carrying it home was difficult. This was my first attempt at finding a substitute. The Wilko clumping litter works similarly but with two bonus features, it tracks a lot less than this and lasts longer! A 10L bag of wilko lasts a month for my one cat whereas 2 5L bags of this made it to just about 3 weeks. I should also point out that this bag is barely enough to get the desired depth in my small/medium sized litter box and as you start taking out the clumps you start to need the the second bag quick. I might buy it again if I see it on offer as my cat was ok with it but never at full price. Its just not worth it. Sadly this is not the litter I will be replacing the Wilko one with, but thankfully I also bought a bag of Biokat's Micro clumping litter with this, which I have very high hopes for.

I thought I'd try this because of the great reviews but we have lots of cats and have found that this scatters all over the place. It's very good at soaking up urine and is a good all round litter but it's not as good as World's Best.

After being very happy with the classic clumping litter i wanted to try this one as the other is very dusty however i was not prepared for the mess it's been causing it's everywhere my cat's are not great diggers but this litter dosent suit us, i find it really hard to get the clumps out and i can still smell the litter odores good for new kittens but not for long term use,

I wanted to try this product to have a more natural smell from the litter and less dust in the bathroom. Unfortunately, it ended up disappointing me overall. The scent is indeed very pleasant, but it doesn't absorb urine well enough, so everything breaks up into small chunks when you try to remove it with the scoop.

I've always used this litter and been really happy with it, but lately it's been giving off loads of dust. Even when I scoop it, I end up coughing from all the dust—imagine what it's like for the cats. I'm thinking about switching to a different one.

The litter is dusty but not excessively so, the cat didn’t like it and preferred to do her business next to it. It clumps, but don’t expect super solid balls. The odour control is also average. This is a mediocre litter, but basically, if your cat accepts it, it’s not bad for the price.

I won't buy it again because, personally, I don't like the smell. It's very woody, but not like tree-woody? Doesn't really clump well, but it doesn't create dust either, and it does a good job of binding urine smell! I'm sure it works great for others, but it's just not for us.

It clumps, but my cat constantly had sticky litter between her toes. I don't like it.

I've been using this litter for a few years now, and so far it's the best I've found, but its quality is going down. The first ones I bought lasted much longer than the more recent ones. In other words, before I could go much longer without having to change all the litter, but now it turns to dust much faster than before.

I used to be delighted with this litter because it clumped well and produced very little dust. But now the litter ends up all over the house and the pee doesn't clump into balls like it used to—it just falls apart and spreads throughout the litter, which means it starts to smell unbearable much sooner than before... Really disappointing...

This is the best litter. I only use this litter, but it seems to me that there used to be a bigger bag... At first, I bought them at Truffaut (quai de Seine, Paris 13), but when I saw you were selling them, I was delighted. But now, you only sell a small bag and I’m disappointed.

I've been using this for a while and it's good stuff. However, the price is no longer reasonable. In September 2025, I ordered 3 bags of 40 litres for 80 euros. Now, in May 2026, I can buy 2 bags of 40 litres for 82 euros... I don't think that's normal anymore and I'm going to look for another brand.

It smells less than the bentonite clay litter. However, you can smell sawdust, and when they use it, it smells like wet sawdust. It’s not exactly what I was expecting. I preferred the corn-based one I got from a discount store, which (without added fragrances) actually smells nice and doesn’t stink even after use.

We've been using this litter for years, but lately it never arrives the same and there are some batches that smell so bad they make the whole house stink! Unfortunately, I had to throw away two 20l bags and the price has become way too high recently, with the quality getting worse.

I’ve been using this litter for years, but lately I’ve noticed there’s a lot more dust and the litter keeps sticking to my cats’ bellies and gets all matted there. Because it’s so light, it ends up all over the place too. I’ve no idea what’s going on, but for now I’ll be looking for a different sustainable litter that clumps, but comes in pellet form and has a bit of weight to it.
