Formula changed?
We've been using this litter for a long time and were incredibly satisfied. However, with the last order, the litter was darker and finer, and it no longer clumps as well as it used to. Such a shame, as the crumbling clumps really bother us, and unfortunately, we'll now have to switch to another product.
If the old formula comes back, we'd be happy to return, but for now, it's only 3 stars instead of 5.

Has the formula changed?
I've used this product for many years and loved it - I have converted all of my cat owning friends to it as well. However the current bag isn't clumping and doesn't hide the smell. I hope the manufacturers will relent and return to the original - I can see that other owners are saying the same thing and are switching to other brands. I'll try another bag, but may have to do the same.

Decline in recent times
We've been using this cat litter since 2013, and back then everything was great. For some time now, though, you can see that the quality has declined. As others have already mentioned, it doesn't clump as well anymore and it's very dusty.
Unfortunately, we haven't found another litter yet that our cats will accept.

Excellent product
We’ve tried many products and ended up sticking with Cat's Best Original cat litter. It smells natural in the bag and is barely noticeable in the room. It forms clumps that are easy to remove and absorb the smell of urine really well. After doing their business, our cats can easily spread it over the faeces. The litter hardly sticks to their paws, so there are only a few crumbs around the toilet. Plus, it’s very economical.

We've been using this litter since 2012, back when we had an outdoor cat who occasionally had to stay indoors for a week. I noticed that the poo smelled really bad. The urine was fine, the smell was bearable, and the litter clumped well. Now we have two cats who live entirely indoors, and the experience is mixed. Sometimes the litter clumps really well, other times the clumps completely fall apart, regardless of which cat it’s from. The poo smells bad, then sometimes it doesn’t—the quality is totally inconsistent!

Best litter we’ve ever used!
We used to use wood pellet litter from pets at home, but it would turn to sawdust after getting wet. We would be changing the litter 2-3 times a week. This Cats Best Original plant fibre based litter is so much better! It clumps when wet for easy clean up. It can be recycled with garden waste as it’s biodegradable. Best thing is that it doesn’t need a complete change for 4-6 weeks!! Obviously depends on usage, but this is a godsend. Only problem I find is it tracks out the litter tray a bit.

What’s changed?
I purchased the biggest bag and it was excellent! I’d been using catsan full set up with the liners but wanted to cut costs. This was perfect and clumped really well, like giant balls! Purchased another smaller bag and it hardly clumps. Just goes all soggy.

Agree with others, what have they done??
Used this for my two indoor rescues for years, but recently it does not clump wee into balls, it mixes in with dry/clean litter ans stays damp so it doesnt scoop? why oh why have they changed it, it used to be by far the best, masked smells and clumped so well, looking for a new litter now

Not as good
I used to rave about this cat litter. In the cat litter world it was amazing. Unfortunately have really noticed a difference in the last two big orders (Since Christmas). The cat wee odour is still absent but in terms of reducing other odours, it's just not as good as it once was. The cost of using this litter really was offset by the odour reduction but I may start looking elsewhere.

Unfortunately the formula for this product has dramatically changed "New Design" they say same quality, I think not more like old fashioned fullers earth not like the original OKO PLUS before it changed to Cat's best, now cheaper ingredients same high price

Can't be bought anymore
We’ve been using this litter for 10 years now. Our new cats have been getting it in their litter box for the past year and a half as well. Over the last few months, it’s gotten much worse. The current batch is a disaster. It doesn’t clump at all anymore. A lot of clean litter ends up in the bin because the dirty bits are just as big. The pack lasts only half as long as it used to, since I have to throw away more—2 weeks instead of 4. I’ve just ordered a different litter.

I switched to this litter five months ago. Yes, my eldest cat spreads the litter almost all over the flat, but the other two don’t. It’s a bit dusty, but it smells better than many other litters, and my cats’ paws aren’t cracked anymore like they used to be. Unfortunately, we have noticed since this week that our Cats Best litter has changed. The litter clumps less or not at all. It crumbles. When cleaning, you have to remove much more because the clumps fall apart. It no longer lasts 4-6 weeks. It no longer smells like wood. It creates more dust.
Such a shame that the quality has become so poor. I will be looking for another eco-friendly litter.
We already vacuum every day, but now it will probably have to be twice a day.
