Quality has declined...
Unfortunately! I've been buying this litter for years. But unfortunately, I have to say that the quality has really gone downhill. It crumbles and no longer absorbs odours like it used to. After a few days, it starts to become mushy and sticky.
It used to be such a good cat litter...

Comprehensive good quality
In summary:
1. Extremely good and efficient clumping!
2. Pleasantly subtle scent of sawdust/wood
3. Price/performance ratio absolutely fine!
The excellent clumping is due to the dried and compressed natural fibre granules, as they expand significantly upon contact with liquid and stick together. Good odour control is guaranteed when absorbing liquid, so the clumps can be disposed of with regular household waste.
The faeces remain almost untouched by the litter, which makes disposal in the toilet much easier.
Result: Very satisfied, we’re sticking with it!

'Cat's Best' lives up to its name
I work as a cat sitter, as well as own and foster cats and, having been recommended this litter by a friend and a client, I can honestly say this is simply the best cat litter ever I've used. It really does live up to its name and is odorless, pleasant to use and very economical as it forms easily removable clumps, so only soiled litter is removed. It also has the benefit of being biodegradable & kind to the planet. And the cats seem to like using it too! I now recommend it to all my clients and friends. Fantastic product at fantastic value. Can't praise it enough.

What do some people expect from a litter...?
We've been using it for quite some time now!
We have two Maine Coons, and as far as I can tell, they're happy with it!
I do wonder what some of the negative reviewers expect from an eco-friendly cat litter???
- The fact that the cats occasionally track it into the house happens with every type of litter, surely!
- Even though the manufacturer says it can be disposed of in the toilet, we still throw it in the bin! Obviously, larger clumps would cause blockages!!!
- And as for odour control, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT? It's wood! We sprinkle a "cat litter deodorising powder" on top, and it works perfectly for us!
We have a 40-litre bag... and haven't needed to buy a refill for months!
Never saved so much money before :-)

Fantastic!
I have two very sensitive cats when it comes to smells. With this cat litter, it's no longer a problem – not only does it smell pleasantly of wood, but removing their waste is also made much easier thanks to the clumping.

Actually very satisfied, but...
I've been using this litter for several years and was always very satisfied with it. Unfortunately, I've developed an allergy to it myself and can no longer clean the litter box (shortness of breath, blocked nose, and watery eyes). Because of this, I sadly have to switch.
Really such a shame.

5* this certainly is not!
I really can't understand all the positive reviews... Has something about the composition or similar been changed? It creates dust like crazy, and odour control is almost non-existent. I always have to remove the piles immediately. I'm giving it a 3 because at least I can flush it down the toilet, my tiger uses the litter box without complaining, and the clumping is quite good (at least it doesn't form huge clumps like Catsan...). I bought 20 litres, and once it's used up, I definitely won't be buying it again...

The best
I've tried a lot of different products before, but I bought this one more out of necessity, and I've been super satisfied ever since and stuck with it straight away.
At first, the price put me off a bit, but it’s definitely worth it because it’s really economical to use—it beats all the other litters I know. On top of that, it clumps well, smells pleasantly like wood shavings, is biodegradable, and the cats like it too!

Sucks well, clumps well
I’ve had plenty of good, clumping cat litters before. What I particularly like about this one is that it’s biodegradable. That means I can dispose of it in the organic waste bin without any worries. What could be improved is the size of the granules... a clump isn’t quite as easy to sift out (compared to finer litter), and the cat spreads it around the litter box more... but otherwise, TOP!!

I won’t be buying it again...
I thought I'd give this litter a try, but to be on the safe side, I only bought a small bag to start with. That turned out to be a good decision. My old cat litter was actually very good (low consumption, good clumping, environmentally friendly), but it was extremely dusty, so I was looking for a low-dust alternative.
Here’s my opinion on Cats Best Öko Plus:
**Positive aspects:**
+ Very lightweight to carry.
+ When using the Litter Locker, its waste bags are much lighter compared to other litter.
+ It’s very eco-friendly and environmentally sustainable.
+ It clumps quite well.
**Negative aspects:**
- It’s less dusty than my old litter, but if you’re allergic to small animal litter or similar, you’ll still react with sneezing—at least that’s how it is for me.
- It sticks to cat paws and fur and gets spread all over (!) the flat.
- My cat isn’t too thrilled about it. She uses it dutifully but prefers other litter if there are two different toilets available.
- It consists of both large and small particles. If you want to sift the clumped waste with a litter scoop to save the clean litter, it’s difficult even with a scoop that has wider gaps. However, the gaps can’t be too wide either, as dirty litter would fall through. If you shake the scoop a bit harder, the clumps easily crumble and fall through again.
Honestly, I don’t see what’s supposed to be so great about this litter. I’ll keep searching for a low-dust litter and, in the future, I’d rather carry heavier bags again. Such a shame!

Superb litter
Cat's Best is the best cat litter I’ve ever bought. It’s lightweight, doesn’t smell, clumps nicely, and you can remove the clumps very easily. Really fantastic!

Why is it rated so highly?
Absolutely terrible odour control, plus the cats often had urine-soaked residue stuck to their paws after using the litter box and ended up smearing it all over the house. The clumps break apart relatively quickly and sometimes stick quite strongly to the bottom of the litter tray.
Our cats don’t really like this litter either; they seem to prefer the more "sandy" types.

Not satisfied
I bought Cats Best to try it out and, unfortunately, I’m disappointed with the results. It’s really bad when it comes to odour control and, sadly, smells awful. Flushing it down the toilet could also go wrong in the long run.

Ferrets love it
I bought this litter for my ferrets, and they took to it straight away. The clumping isn’t as strong as I was used to with other litters for my cats in the past, but at least I don’t have to worry about the ferrets sticking their noses in it now. It’s also low on odour and very absorbent.

Toilet blocked!
We only used the litter for about 4 months and always disposed of small "portions" via the toilet.
We really appreciated the convenience of being able to dispose of the litter through the toilet... until now... Because now, for the second time, our toilet is clogged because of it!
So, our conclusion: A litter that CAN'T be disposed of via the toilet can be bought cheaper elsewhere. We're switching to a different one!
What a shame!

I can't understand it.
I can't understand how this product can be rated positively.
Odour control is poor.
Clumping is unsatisfactory.
Dust formation is tolerable.
It sticks to the paws and gets spread all over the flat.
I actually have my regular cat litter that I'm happy with, but it's very expensive. Because of the many positive reviews, I thought I'd give this one a try—honestly, never again.
Even the cheap litter from Lidl is better than this.

Initially very satisfied
It clumps well, is lightweight, and has a pleasant woody scent. The typical cat litter smell was immediately banished, and I would keep ordering it.
However, after half a year, my cat suddenly stopped using it. She didn’t enjoy scratching in the wood pellets, and during her first heat, she only used the litter box for defecating but no longer for urinating. She found herself a more absorbent spot :(
Even after her heat (now pregnant), she still didn’t return to her litter box, so we switched back to regular clumping litter, and hooray, she’s clean again and loves scratching in the heavier clay.
# My daughter didn’t like the smell of Cat’s Best Öko Plus cat litter from the start; it made her feel sick. #

Quality is no longer the same.
I’ve been using this product for a long time, and I was very happy with it, but the quality has changed—it’s not as good anymore, and the price has gone up.

The idea is good, but the execution was disappointing...
A major advantage of this litter – it’s pure eco as it’s plant-based, and you can actually dispose of it in the toilet without any issues. The clumping is good, and the consumption is relatively low, which brings the price down to an acceptable level. But unfortunately, those are the only advantages. Let’s move on to the disadvantages, which, in my experience, clearly outweigh the positives. This very light and coarse litter gets spread quickly and widely throughout the home. The longer the cats’ fur, the worse the litter distribution. Initially, Cats Best Öko hardly produces any dust, but the more the cats walk through it or dig in it, the dustier it gets. In a practical test, I didn’t completely change the litter for 4 weeks, only topped it up, and by the third week, Cats Best Öko was at least as dusty as a low-quality bentonite litter. The smell in its unused state is reminiscent of a forest, but in its used state, it’s far less pleasant. It takes some getting used to and isn’t necessarily suitable for sensitive noses. The waste volume is unexpectedly large, but for many, this is likely a minor issue when disposing of it via the toilet. Contact with fresh, mushy urine clumps should be avoided! The mushy residue on paws leaves very difficult-to-remove marks on carpets, tiles, or linoleum! And it’s even worse if it’s already dried! The same applies to the bottom of the litter tray, so it’s best to always fill it to a height of at least 10 cm. This litter was one of six test candidates I tried out in 2011, each for about 12 weeks. My three litter trays were always filled differently. While one was filled with Cats Best Öko, the other two were filled with Coshida Lidl litter and Biokats Micro. The favourite of this test group was clearly Biokats for all four cats, followed by Lidl litter, and Cats Best Öko unfortunately came in last by a significant margin. Two of my four cats never wanted to use Cats Best Öko, and the other two only used it when the other two trays were already too heavily used. A shame, because the idea behind this litter is really good…

Quality has gotten worse
I've been using this litter for a very long time, but I have to say that the quality has completely changed. The granules have become very hard, so the clumping ability is almost non-existent. When you scoop it out, you end up with lots of small or larger lumps, and the soaking time doesn't make any difference. Since it absorbs moisture very poorly, the wetness immediately reaches the bottom and sticks there. Such a shame – I used to be very satisfied with it, even though it was a bit dusty, it always clumped really well. What a pity, I hope it was just this one batch...
