AI-generated summary based on reviews added by customers
Cat's Best Original cat litter has received mixed reviews. Many customers appreciate its excellent clumping ability and odour control, making it a favourite for years. However, recent changes in the formula have led to complaints about increased dustiness, poor clumping, and tracking issues. Despite these concerns, some users still find it economical and effective, highlighting its lightweight nature and pleasant woody scent. Overall, it's a product that has its ups and downs depending on individual preferences.

No dust but zero clumping.
There are several tests circulating online in which CBÖP comes out as the winner. Excited at the prospect of having bought the best, I immediately went for the largest bag. My cat and four ferrets accepted the litter straight away. However, after just one day, I can already tell that while this litter hardly produces any dust, its clumping ability is poor. EVERY clump falls apart, making it impossible to separate the "dirty" from the clean. I regret the purchase and will switch to another product.

Super bedding - also great for ferrets
The price-performance ratio of this rather expensive bedding is pretty good. I hardly ever have to replace the base bedding, and the odour control is excellent. You can hardly smell anything!
However, I’m deducting one star because the clumps tend to fall apart quite easily, and it’s very dusty. Still, I’ve been satisfied with this bedding for 4 years!

Is not accepted.
Unfortunately, my cat (Norwegian Forest Cat) doesn’t accept this litter at all. I really tried everything, but he absolutely refuses to use it! Even mixing it with other litter didn’t work. I’ve now disposed of the rest on the compost.

Quality has declined
We have been using CBÖP for our 3 cats from the very beginning and for over 4 years. Unfortunately, I had to realise that the quality of the litter gradually left much to be desired, and our cats partly stopped using the litter box altogether and even started peeing outside of it. Since we now only fill one litter box with it and use alternative litter for the other three, only one of our three ladies still uses it (she seems to still like it?!).
We will continue to order the litter for our one lady, while the other two prefer the alternatives we’ve provided. I find it a shame because I always thought the litter itself was great and very practical. Unfortunately, the quality has also deteriorated in terms of dust. At the beginning, we used to do a complete change every six weeks, clean twice daily, and refill as needed. Recently, however, after just two weeks of use, the litter was more dust than litter. As for the smell, it also seemed to me that the quality had declined, and the odour lingered in the flat (unlike in the first few years when it lasted forever).

Has deteriorated significantly
My two tomcats and I were enthusiastic users of Cat's Best for six years, always singing its praises and recommending it to others. However, for about six months now, it seems something has changed in the manufacturing process: the litter no longer clumps well, and all the positive qualities that came with it (economical use, no odour, etc.) have also disappeared. I'm really upset and will start looking for alternatives.

Good bedding
I'm completely satisfied with it; it clumps perfectly and hardly crumbles... Other litters have a strong odour, but this one smells pleasantly natural and subtle, and the scent fades quickly...

Simply brilliant!
Car's Best Öko Plus cat litter is simply brilliant. I've been using it for 3 years now and have had no issues with it. It neutralises odours, and the faeces/urine are easy to remove (it clumps the urine into a thick lump). The product is made up of slightly coarser granules. This cat litter is highly recommended, especially since it's also environmentally friendly!

Excellent product
Best litter I've ever purchased - clumps really well so that when you remove waste no smells linger. Though it seemed expensive it has lasted far longer than many other litters so is actually working out a lot cheaper.

Good if you don't mind hoovering every time the cat uses the litter box
Recently tried this product as a cheaper alternative for a clumping litter. It does not clump very well. It looks like an oatmeal explosion occurred with in 5 feet radius of the litter box. 2 stars cause it does mask odour quite well.

Used to be better
Unfortunately, I’m disappointed with the litter. It used to clump really well, but now the clumps just fall apart and everything ends up scattered in the toilet. Not acceptable for the price.

A total letdown!
After many years, the quality has unfortunately deteriorated significantly. It should be re-tested because it no longer deserves a "very good" rating. Those days are sadly over! It no longer clumps at all; instead, the "clump" falls apart into a thousand tiny puzzle pieces. The fresh wood scent has also faded considerably. However, I’ve discovered a very good new one. If anyone here is interested, I can highly recommend the Tigerino litter!

1a satisfied
Uncomplicated, affordable, odourless, easy to dispose of. The droppings and clumps go into the toilet, and any stray granules are shaken off the bath mat into the bathtub for disposal. The litter becomes liquid when it gets wet. The remaining bit goes into the organic waste bin after 4 (!!) weeks. I have two tomcats using one litter box. And it works! Very hygienic.

I'm thrilled!
I have a covered cat litter box, and every day when cleaning it, the smell took my breath away when opening it. I’ve tried so many different types of litter. Because of the odour, I also had to completely clean the litter box every 4-5 days at the latest, which was quite an expensive hassle. Cats Best Öko Plus was recommended to me, and I’m absolutely thrilled. No smell, and a full clean once a month is now completely sufficient.

Cat litter very good except for one point
When it comes to odour control, clumping, yield, and price, I haven’t found anything better yet. However, there’s unfortunately one downside—the litter ends up scattered all over the flat. Maybe it’s because of my indoor tiger’s long fur. But the bathroom always looks untidy as soon as he’s used his toilet, and the rest of it then spreads throughout the flat again. I’m going to try a different litter now.

A disappointment nowadays - the quality has really gone downhill
I can only agree with the previous reviewers. The quality has deteriorated EXTREMELY over the past few months. Nowadays, the "clumps" (actually mushy piles) fall apart when scooping them up with the shovel. This results in countless smaller lumps. ALSO, the compressed granules crumble into wood dust after a while, which spreads throughout the entire flat (as fine as sand). This was never the case before. Additionally, the litter hardly binds odours anymore. - At this point, I have to advise against this cat litter (in its current quality). I can't understand why the manufacturer is driving away customers with such poor quality. Such a shame!

No dust, excellent odour control
My cat is just as thrilled as I am with this litter. I used to always use mineral litter, which left everything covered in dust and had a strange smell. Since I started using this cat litter, I no longer have these problems. The litter is very economical, clumps well, and does an excellent job of neutralising odours. Plus, you can dispose of it in the organic waste bin or in small amounts on the compost. So, it's also environmentally friendly. Hence, my recommendation!

The best cat litter far and wide
Clumps very well, highly efficient, super economical to remove from the Modkat using the litter scoop, and flushable in the toilet. On top of that, it's environmentally friendly, the cats like their litter box, and in bulk, it's really affordable. 40 litres last us, thanks to Modkat, almost 3 months for 2 cats – full marks!

Increasingly disappointing
I’ve been using this litter for years, and I really considered it the best.
However, the quality has drastically declined over time. It’s no longer as effective at controlling odours and, most importantly, it’s not clumping well anymore. As soon as you try to remove the clumps, they mostly fall apart, leaving several small clumps in the toilet. The broken clumps can’t be completely removed from the toilet either. This might also be a reason why the odour control isn’t as good anymore.
The litter spreading around has always been an issue with my cat, but that’s just down to my cat. It never really bothered me because clumping and odour control were the most important factors for me... For everything else, there’s a vacuum cleaner ;-)

Unfortunately, no longer the BEST
For years, I’ve been using CBÖP litter for my two indoor cats, and it was fantastic—no smell, solid clumps, economical. Unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill. The clumps are now just mushy piles that fall apart when disposing of them, it smells musty, the litter spreads all over the flat, and what sticks to the fur when damp is almost impossible to remove from the sofa or armchair once dry—I have to scrape it off. Once I’ve used up the last bit of the 40-litre bag, I’ll reluctantly have to start looking for a new litter.

No smell - but the house is full of crumbs...
In terms of absorbency, odour control, and disposal, this litter definitely deserves full marks – the downside, however, is that the individual granules are so light that our furry friend happily tracks them all over the house. Having to vacuum 100 square metres twice a day isn’t exactly what I’d call "eco-friendly"... For this reason, I’ve reluctantly switched back to mineral litter.
