Practically indestructible
I've had this flap for a few years now, and it still works well. The flap only causes problems in very low temperatures (from around -8°C), as the condensation that forms on the inside freezes, and then the flap either only opens inwards or outwards. This is, of course, inconvenient if the cat can only get out but not back in. At -15°C, that's a real issue. So far, I haven't found a solution for this.

Freezes
I also had the problem that the glazier made a standard hole of 21 cm for me. Our old cat flap fit in. This one didn’t. I had to use a metal saw to cut out the upper corners a bit so it would fit. It’s more airtight than the old one and lets in less draught.
Now it’s so cold at night, and condensation forms on the plastic, which freezes. The cats can go outside, but they can’t push it open to come back in, so they have to wait outside until I let them in.

Flap secured with nylon threads
The flap itself is high-quality and well-made. However, the hinges of the flap are far too thin. I drilled two holes each in the frame and the plastic above the flap and threaded a nylon cord through them. Now the flap has held up for 5 years with 3 cats :-)

The operating materials could be improved.
Because the operating material is inadequate and not sturdy enough.

Somehow still too narrow
Had the cat flap installed by a glazier from Ricklingen (£237). We had a double-glazed balcony door. He had a lot of experience with it! At the bottom, he used a chipboard with the cat flap, and above it, the new double-glazed pane was superbly done!!!
Only the cat flap of the product has an opening of just about 15.5x15.5 cm and not 23 cm as we thought! Almost too narrow for our GIANTS!!

Light and Shadow
The practical benefit is undeniable, the cats love it. Unfortunately, we’ve already had to install the third flap because the seal keeps coming off irreparably. Even with the seal, the flap isn’t exactly windproof. During gusts of wind, the magnet isn’t strong enough to keep the flap closed. It’s also frozen shut on us 2-3 times, leaving the cats stuck outside the door. Sadly, we haven’t found another supplier yet.
