Price and concept are great, quality is mediocre, not suitable for every pet.
The price is really very affordable, especially with the included accessories.
- The base area is very good, the tray is high enough to add bedding, and the openings are well-placed.
- The included exercise wheel is pleasantly quiet and doesn’t rattle, even when hung up.
Unfortunately, the cage also has quite a few drawbacks.
- The house and platform absolutely need to be covered, sealed, or otherwise treated. In their "natural state," every drop of moisture soaks in forever, and these nice items last barely a week.
- The tray feels a bit flimsy, and the bottom is slightly curved upwards.
- The top door is always difficult to open – depending on your skill or strength – but above all, it opens with loud rattling and vibrations throughout the entire cage.
- The side doors can’t really be opened properly from the outside; the clip can only be accessed from the inside, and they’re also a bit too small. With some skill, they can be opened from the outside by squeezing the soft wire bars together and pulling them towards you.
- The wire bars are relatively soft and can be completely bent together or apart with some force using two fingers. Depending on the animal and its temperament, this could lead to injury risks when climbing or attempting to escape :-).
For fancy mice or "well-behaved," "lightweight" animals, it’s a good idea, but my gerbils, for example, would probably have chewed through it within a week at the latest. The tray should be much more durable and stable – heaven forbid a slightly larger animal starts scraping at the bare plastic. But for the price, it’s a nice bargain.
