The Trixie wheel is praised for its size, making it suitable for Syrian hamsters. However, many users report issues with quality, including noise, wobbling, and durability problems. Some found it difficult to fix or clean, and the wheel's cork lining was easily chewed off. Despite these drawbacks, a few users managed to resolve assembly issues and enjoy silent operation. Overall, while it has potential, the wheel's quality seems inconsistent.

Fantastic wheels
I have two of these and they're both silent and secure. One came assembled wrongly but a few minutes with a screwdriver and glue gun and it's now running as smootly and silently as the other one. My hams both love their wheels, highly recommended.

Beautiful but small flaws
The wheel looks very nice and is a good size for hamsters. Unfortunately, the edges weren’t sanded down properly on mine, so we had to do it ourselves – but it wasn’t too much work :) The second minor issue is that the wheel wobbles slightly, and we’re still looking for a solution to that. But for this price, it’s absolutely fine.

21cm for dwarf hamsters
I got the small running wheel for my Djungarian dwarf hamster, but she seems to be too light for the wheel. She runs a few centimetres and only then does it start to turn; she stops until it comes to a halt and then starts again.
So far, I’ve had Syrian hamsters who were much more relaxed running in a plastic wheel, but the wooden one doesn’t seem to be suitable for my little one.
The craftsmanship itself is quite alright.

Good, but...
I bought it for the second time and I'm very impressed with it. It runs smoothly and doesn't wobble, it's quiet, just as it should be. However, my hamster lady is not convinced at all. She tears out the cork floor—in pieces, so that only part of it remains or sometimes completely... quite a shame, really. In between, I had one from Dehner, and with that, she didn't tear out the cork floor.

Great for the price
I have been doing a lot of research since getting my Syrian hamster (Cappuccino), I wanted to get him a really big wheel, however I struggled to find a big wheel for a reasonable price that looked natural. It came well packaged and is the perfect size for a Syrian (28cm), he’s getting used to it as he previously had a flying saucer wheel, but seems to like it. The only reason I marked it down 1 star is when it is moving it goes slightly in wards and outwards, however it is almost silent.

Trixie Wooden Exercise Wheel
I got the 28cm wheel for my short haired Syrian hamster. I think it’s a very good quality wheel at the moment but I have only had it for 1 week so I don’t know if it will be in the future. It’s not silent but it’s pretty quiet but like I said it could change once it gets older. There are only two problems which are that she peed on the wheel and it stained for a few days and you might need to sand it down because there are tiny bits of wood sticking out but it might be because she chewed it.

Excellent wheel
This wheel is perfect, my hamster loves to run in it. It has a slight wobble to it when in use. I've coated it in plastikote so that the Cork isn't ruined by hamster wee.

Wooden hamster wheel
this is a very good wheel for hamsters, although, i recommend covering it with the brand “plasticote” because my hamster has peed on my wheel and stained it. the wheel isn’t too noisy but it depends if you get a faulty one or not.

Balance bike
I went for the 28 cm one, and here’s my conclusion... My degus gnawed off the cork lining after just one week, the wheel wobbles and makes noise because of it. Despite that, my degus absolutely love it and spend the whole day running in it. So far, it’s still the best wooden exercise wheel I’ve tested, and I would buy it again.

Amazingly Great Value!
Much bigger than I thought! Hamster seems to love it! Cheaper on Zooplus than anywhere else.

Love it!
This wheel is fantastic. The build looks natural and fits very subtly into a hamster cage. It’s not like those plastic ones and it doesn’t rattle or thump against the base at all! Perfectly quiet with only the smallest woosh sound and patter of a hamsters feet. The only downside is that it can be quite splintery, so I highly suggest it’s coated with pet-safe varnish to both protect it from pee and keep it from splintering. The only reason this isn’t five stars is for that reason.

Balance bike is good, but the cork can be easily chewed off.
I've bought several running wheels here before, but for some reason, one of my runners keeps nibbling away at the cork. Unfortunately, the cork is, for whatever reason, quite easy to nibble off. I'd love to replace it myself, but there's no "replacement cork" available. At Bauhaus, you can get a large sheet, but it's very expensive. Plus, while the cork sticks well to the wheel, it's too well stuck to remove and replace. I really wish there was "replacement cork" available here.

Wobbles a bit
Quiet and stable, but unfortunately, it wobbles. Our hamster doesn’t mind and took to it straight away.

The wheels are good.
I’ve had a total of 8 exercise wheels from this brand so far. Suitable for degus, gerbils, and hamsters alike. They all run quietly; some wobble a little, but none of the animals seem bothered by it. The running surface is gentle on their feet.

Great value for money
I ordered the 28-inch for the Zwerf, and it spins really well. The only reason I’m deducting a point is because of glue residue on the back and inside of the wheel’s turntable.

Trixie 28cm
I love this wheel for my Syrian hamster. Its the only silent wheel I’ve found, and she loves it too.
I recommend it is painted with a couple of coats of plastikote before using ,making it much easier to clean if the small animal wees in it

Quiet smooth running wheel
I bought the biggest one 33 cms for my hamster ! It’s like comparing the size of the London eye to my hamster ! She loves it and runs like tha clappers on it. Very quiet, built well and great size. The cork is much thinner that I was expecting but it’s okay for my hammie.

Degu racing enthusiast
We bought the 33cm wheel for our degus – two of them. Points deducted because one of the wheels was already slightly warped when it arrived. After some time, the running caused it to warp so badly that it was barely usable and ended up breaking. In my opinion, the cork surface slightly reduces claw wear. The fact that it’s not coated doesn’t bother me much, as degus chew through everything anyway, and if it were coated, we wouldn’t have been able to buy it. All in all, recommended.

Happy!
I really love this wheel, its massive and makes my giant hamster look tiny. In a normal syrian sized wheel she is uncomfortable but in this (28cm) one she almost has a flat surface to run on.
The only problem is that the material inside the wheel is cork which is likely to be easily damaged and not easily cleaned. It's also more expensive than other wheels of the same size and I only chose this one for aesthetics.
