I mounted the basket and tried it out, but ended up taking it off again straight away and returning it. Since the support (underneath) stops roughly in the middle of the basket, it creates a weak point at that spot. When testing it with my 12-kilo dog, the front part dangerously bent forward, and we hadn’t even gone over any uneven surfaces yet. The basket is actually very sturdily designed, but the metal frame underneath should support at least three-quarters of the basket’s length. At least the assembly and disassembly were very quick and easy. Such a shame, as I’m now back to square one looking for a good solution...

Love the look of the basket but the handle bar fittings don't fit either mine or my husband's bikes. Have a rear pannier fitted and have mounted it on there (not using the fittings provided). Also the instructions are non-existent.

The maxi front mounted dog basket is fantastic. Our dog is on the weight limit(15kg) & you need to spend some time making sure the mount is perfectly fitted to support this sort of weight. Having done that the mount stays unobtrusively on the bike & sliding the basket on & off when pooch comes too takes seconds. Cycling with a big weight on front takes a little bit of practice but you soon adjust. We now go to the park with Heidi dog in the front & our 4 year old on his tag -a-long behind.

We bought this bike basket (in large) for our two dogs (Yorkie mix), who together weigh around 11 kg. What can I say? Easy assembly in 3 minutes, just hook the basket on (it's very sturdy) and off you go! My two girls were initially a bit surprised by their newfound view, but they were soon completely won over, and we cycled leisurely through the countryside! When steering, you need to get used to the limited view and the fact that the basket doesn’t turn with the handlebars, as it’s attached to the frame. However, this means it’s always stable, and even when you park the bike, the basket stays centred and secure! By the way, I’ve already used it for shopping as well, since it has a large capacity and makes it easy to transport your groceries comfortably! We can truly only recommend this basket!

I bought the basket for my Westie. She jumped in straight away and claimed it as her own. On the first attempt with the bike, she stayed peacefully seated (without the grille!) and enjoyed the view. The basket and the mount are sturdy, and I had no issues with attaching it. However, the gear shift needed a bit of adjustment, as otherwise, steering becomes difficult. The padding for the basket is a joke though, and you’ll need to put in another blanket or something similar. I can recommend the basket.

Super easy to attach, the basket is just the right size, my dog only wants to go cycling now! The only downside is that I can’t imagine a dog weighing 15kg sitting in it without the basket bending downwards – it already bends slightly with ours, and he weighs 8kg.

The bike rides very well with the basket mounted on the front frame (much more comfortable than mounting it on the handlebars). Just one thing to keep in mind (unfortunately, this isn’t mentioned anywhere) is that you need 3cm of clearance in height on the front frame for the mounting (so it doesn’t work with every bike!!). I have the standard model, and my two Yorkshire Terriers (a total of 6 kg) feel comfortable in it. You get used to the slightly restricted view ahead. The bike basket is perfect. It's the first basket that my Mittelspitz fits into perfectly! The mount on the frame is easy to attach and sturdy, and the bike handles wonderfully since the basket is attached to the frame rather than the handlebars. The actual wicker basket is sturdy and well-shaped. All in all, a perfect product that's highly recommended!

Unfortunately, the Maxi basket is rather unsuitable for cycling. It’s designed in such a way that you can’t steer when the protective grid is securely fastened on top. We’ve now sawed off four bars, and it works tolerably well now. Perhaps the carrier should be a bit longer.

I bought the small model (Standard) for our Westie male and I’m absolutely thrilled. The basket is perfect – the grille is nice and high (unlike many other providers). However, I must say that our dog has more of a female build. But a normally sturdy Westie male should still fit – anything bigger might be problematic. Otherwise, TOP!!!
