Royal Canin Feline Dry Cat Food Economy Packs

The product is OK, because my pet really likes it, but packaging it in a bag without a zip-lock or something similar is unacceptable. After opening the bag, I have to look for alternative ways to close it somehow????

My Norwegian Forest cat has had crystal (struvite) problems in her bladder for 2 years now (she’s 6 years old), so I chose these kibbles + wet food, and it was a really bad choice! An ultrasound of her bladder was done at the end of July and, poor thing, she has a stone. My vet told me that this range isn’t vet-formulated, whereas S/O is (and at the same price). I’m gutted to think my kitten was suffering all this time because I didn’t know, so now you know too.

Caution When my cats were younger, they tolerated these kibbles, but later it became more complicated—one of my males lost weight, and my females started vomiting. They can handle them occasionally for the vitamin C, but as cats get older, they need fat—good fats—and we’re always trying to keep them from gaining weight or getting fat. In the long run, these kibbles can be dangerous: one of mine died because he was under his normal weight, and one of my females too, and the third would just throw them up!

My cat does eat the food, which is a plus. It’s just a shame that the 10 kg bag doesn’t have a resealable strip. I think that’s a big downside for a premium brand, because you really want to be able to keep such a large amount of food airtight so it stays fresh.

Very much enjoyed by the cat... but he swallowed the whole bag without ever crunching a single one. Apparently, these are the biggest dental kibbles for cats on the market. But for us, it didn’t work! Shame, as he really likes them.

Strange, I took over my Persian cat from my friend in March 2024. He only eats dry food and, just like my Siberian, he really liked it at first. But with the change of coat in November/December, both of them became reluctant to eat it. Pusha sticks to her wet food and Carlo switched to Hairball, but he refuses it because it smells strongly of fish oil. I’m trying a different food after discussing it with the vet, as there might be an allergy???

I often order these kibbles, 10kg pack, but this time I received a clearly faulty product with some of the kibbles being a different colour and texture, and also completely odourless.
