Applaws Senior Chicken Cat Food

I've been using this product for some time. I order in bulk, 7.5kg so they last us a while. My last order being August 2025, since the last order the biscuit shape ans size has changed. I'm not sure if ingredients ect are different too as I no longer have the old packaging, but my cat just turns his nose up at them now

My cat loves the regular chicken dry cat food from Applaws, but that was out of stock so I thought the senior chicken food would be similar. My cat refuses to even try it and she’s usually eats anything.

We feed our cats both try and wet food and this is the dry. Our cats absolutely can't get enough of this cat foot.

My cat is a hunter so this food is ideal but she is extremely bored of just the one flavour so I'm having to look at other makes of dried food. Please can you increase the flavours to at least three, perhaps one fish as the poor cats surely deserve it?

Sorry to say, both my 14-year-olds just will not tolerate this food. They adore the Applaws Senior wet food and I thought the dry Senior food would be readily accepted. Absolutely not!

This is one of the best brands of food out there that doesn’t contain all the nasty ingredients. All three of my rescue cats Who came from different walks of life all love it! My vet says it’s one of the best out on the market.

Was keen to locate a grainfree product & researched for a while. Applaws ticked all the right boxes, especially with the ingredients. Both my 9 & 18 year old cats enoy it. The furballs appear to be lesser now, their coats are gleaming, breathe smells nice & their demeanour appears to have changed they are more playful & chilled out. I wont be returning to my old supermarket shelf stock. It is worth trialling with the smaller packs & see what suits them. You will soon notice the difference!

To be honest, my cat loves all dry food as she's happily had other brands too so the big plus with this is the high quality ingredients, which has made her coat noticeably glossier. I do also feed her a tin of Applaws senior wet food as the recommended portions for a small cat aren't enough for her.

My cat was on an okay quality food - about 40% meat and not grain free. I always thought she was in good health but after moving to Applaws she's noticeably in better condition. She's leaner, her coat is softer and she's shedding less. One bag lasts about 6-7 weeks if you measure it out properly, which I have to because she absolutely loves it. She gets half a pouch of wet too but she would rather have the biscuits!

My 12 year old cat has been used to one of the brand leaders for years, but I have always been a little concerned about the ingredients. So I tried a sample pack of this, and she loves it. I will not be returning to the previous brand, and on a slightly less pleasant, but important point - I have noticed her poo is much healthier looking since she has been on Applaws!

For the first time ever my cats refused food - they simply wouldn't touch this product. I held out for four days but they didn't relent. I ended up denoting the a 7.5kg minus two small scoops the cat rescue centre.

I had been recommended this brand so with three senior Bengals I purchased this food. They are not fussy cats although I have primarily used several varieties of Royal Cannin they will happily eat other brands. They are usually excited at anything new but they just walked away. If it is mixed with other dry food they pick out the one they like and leave the applaws. Even putting it in the play ball does not work. I am not sure whether it is the smell of the shape of the kibble. I tend towards the shape as it is very small.

My cats all love this Senior version and I use it regardless of their age due to the added joint care and the coconut oil added. Always great value from Zooplus

My cat always ate her food too quick and would end up being sick quite often after feeding. I saw that Applaws had brought out a Senior version, and as my cat is 10 years old I thought we would try it. So far so good. We are on our 4th or 5th bag now and she loves it. She is very rarely sick after eating now.

Both my senior cats always really liked this food. Apparently something has changed, especially the size of the kibble, and now one of the cats unfortunately refuses to eat it. He only gets it as a topping or as a treat, but the pieces are too small for him now and probably taste different too, though I can't say for sure. It's a pity, because it used to be a fairly good dry food.

Terrible drop in quality, my cat used to eat this food with gusto, but the last pack was awful. The cat completely rejected the food, stopped eating it to the point where he even lost weight. I wondered if it was a health issue, but after numerous tests nothing came up. When I desperately bought a different food, the problems disappeared instantly, the cat is eating eagerly again, gaining weight and seems happy, but this time with a competitor's food. Money down the drain. Don't buy it.

Abnormally high calcium and phosphorus

My cat is 14 and after a lot of experimenting with different kibbles, she’s finally found one she likes.

Unlike the previous version of the food, this one is finer and has a different composition – you can tell by the colour and smell. The cats absolutely refuse to eat it, even going so far as to try and bury the kibble. The awful smell of rancid fat is off-putting right from the start, and the colour is suspiciously grey. This time, the manufacturer has really gone too far in cutting costs on the quality of the ingredients. Even stray cats – who usually eat anything they come across – won’t touch it. Bought 3 packs of 7.5kg each – straight to the bin.

My cat has liked this dry food, so I believe it must be tasty.

Although a cat’s eyes are always bright, they sparkle even more for this dry food—she just can’t get enough of it.

Good kibble, but for senior dogs I’d prefer if it had less calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus.

Unfortunately, my cats didn’t like this product! They sniff it and walk away. I’m really sorry!

My Maine Coon tomcat won't eat it, it smells really unpleasant.

When I bought the product this last time, it arrived with very small kibble, like kitten food. It seems like a packaging mistake since the bag is the right one, and now I’m afraid to buy another 7.5kg sack and have the same thing happen again. Sometimes my cat has digestive issues and vomits.
