Excellent Value and Quality
The ingredients in this food are excellent when compared with all supermarket brands that I have come across. The food is excellent value too. My cats enjoyed this and I would now never even consider any supermarket brands because of the quality and value offered in this product. I feed my cats Acana and Orijen dry food in alternation with this food to give them variety and would highly recommend that you look at these too if you are concerned about giving your cats variation and are looking at other premium quality brands for your pets.
Finally found a food that works
This is the only dry food that doesn't give my cat runny stools.
I have tried many different dry foods and he will happily eat them all but this is the only one that he is solid on. Possibly due to the fact that this food has no wheat or grains in it as the only other food he was solid on was the cheapest of the cheap, supermarket tinned rubbish.

Fantastic and well worth it
Additive free is great for the more sensitive cat and I always prefer to feed them high quality food. Tinned Applaws is very good and this is a complete food so even better. Plus, they both absolutely love it!

Such a pity
It's been my go-to choice since my cats were kittens, 6 years buying it and never had any issues. Their coats were great and digestion was spot on. About a year ago, though, I noticed changes in my female cat—she started scratching and had small bald patches, loads of trips to the vet to figure out what was going on. Then, about 3 months ago, my male cat started losing quite a bit of weight. After countless check-ups with vets, turns out my female cat doesn't tolerate the product well and my male cat doesn't like it, so he'd rather not eat. Wish I'd read the recent reviews sooner.

Ideal for us
We're on our 15th bag now. My extremely, extremely picky cat loved it from the very start, and no matter how many other brands I tried, this one was always her favourite—she eats it with pleasure. Why change what was working well
I’d been giving this food to my cats for about 4 years. A few months ago, when I bought a new bag, I noticed the kibble looked different and the smell had changed too. One of my cats got diarrhoea and it hasn’t stopped since. The formula has changed, and for the worse, and I’ve spent a lot of money at the vet trying to help my cat get better. Not recommended since the new formula and pellet size
It's a shame that the recipe and the size of the pellets were changed without any notice. Since then, one of my cats can't tolerate it anymore and often throws up right after eating. No idea if it's because of the new size or the ingredients. Now I have to look for an alternative, which is really annoying, as my cats react quickly to changes in their food with diarrhoea and so on. Why change something that worked so well?!

The kibble is very small and may cause issues for cats with sensitive digestive systems
My cat was on this food for over 8 years. Unfortunately, the last bag we ordered was the last one from this company. The manufacturer changed both the size of the kibble (they're now really tiny, like for kittens) and the ingredients. A cat who ate this food for over 8 years now can't tolerate it at all after the changes. It gives him very severe diarrhoea. I ruled out other causes with numerous tests. After switching to a different food, everything started to return to normal. So that's the end of me buying Applaws food.

Kibble shrunk – but why?
Up until now, I’ve happily been feeding this supposedly good food to my 7-year-old lady cat, and she’s always enjoyed it.
However, with my latest order, I noticed that the kibble size has gone from about 1cm in diameter to half that (0.5cm), plus the colour is darker and the smell has changed too.
I’ll be switching to a different food!
