My cat has an allergy to this food
After a few weeks of eating this food, my cat lost hair in places. I had to spend a lot of money on a veterinarian and treatment.

Cats wouldn’t touch this
I have two cats who eat a variety of different brands of dry food and have never complained. Until I tried this! Neither of them would go anywhere near it.

Something has changed
My cat used to thoroughly enjoyed this food, even the kitten version. Something must've changed in this recipe as after a few feedings of this latest bought bag he threw the whole lot up and refused to eat. This was the only change and the vets found no other issues.

Cat won't touch it
She won't eat it at all and have to say, from a human standpoint, it doesn't smell particularly appetising. Not sure chicken and salmon combo is suitable.

Changed formula - stinky litter tray
Used to buy it for my cat 2 years in a row and he loved it, the litter tray never had bad smell, until the last order when I received my usal 6kg pack with completely different color and size cat food pieces. My cat didn't like to eat it but I thought I will give a few weeks to see if he gets used to it. Unfortunately, his litter tray started smelling umbarably every time he went for nr2 on top of that he developed urinary tract infection. Vets explained it to be due to changes in diet.

Allergic reaction in my cat
He enjoyed it but after a couple of weeks he developed a rash all over his body with excessive scratching and grooming. I've removed the food and he is slowly improving.

Cat has had allergic reaction - Avoid!
I rarely write reviews but as my cat has developed a skin complaint and has been losing hair after eating applaws, I wanted to make sure other people were aware of this before purchasing. Since buying it I have since read several reviews saying similar which I wish I had read first. I'd recommend a different brand or you may be putting your cat's health at risk.

Citrus extract is toxic to cats
I was going to buy some of this, then read the reviews of numerous cats being sick and pulling their fur out. I read up about citrus extract, which one reviewer mentioned because it's an ingredient, and found that it is toxic to cats, so I won't be buying it.

More than a little concerned ...
I have three neutered lads and all have wet and dry food. Their usual hairball control kibbles don't seem to be available any more, so I thought they could try this. They have all eaten some and one has been fine. The other two - who have good appetites - have eaten theirs and then projectile vomited, bringing up their wet food as well as the kibble biscuits. They are not ill as such - they are hungry and crying for food after vomiting ......

1/2 cats vomited
Just planning to bulk buy but read reviews first. Penny just dropped and I realize the 'vomiting' episode coincided with trying applaws dry food a few months ago. I bought two types and didn't register which ones were given to them. Safer to steer clear for us.

Faulty product made my cat ill - please be aware!!
Last year I bought Applaws dry cat food in chicken and duck flavour which my cat absolutely loved. I then ordered a bag of this food in chicken flavour, and another in chicken and salmon flavour. Since feeding my cat these 2 new flavours he's gone from being a healthy and happy indoor cat to pulling his fur out in large clumps. I took him to the vet and they suggested a change in diet might be causing the problem. It suddenly clicked with me that this Applaws food was causing his skin problems. After doing some research and reading reviews on here, I saw other people were experiencing the same thing. I can only assume the food is faulty or contaminated somehow. Applaws have asked me to return the food for testing and I've received a full refund from Zooplus. Please avoid buying this flavour to avoid distress and illness in your cat too.

Same as the rest, new recipe is a disaster
After reading the reviews here I now know why my cats have stopped eating this food , it's the recipe change , they have been happily eating this for years and it helped a lot to control their weight but now they are always hungry and not touching the food :-( please if this is your regular food get a small bag with the new recipe first just so you don't get lumped with a massive bag. Also it does pong a wee bit more!

dont repeat buy assuming its still the same as before!!
I have been buying this in bulk for years for my 3 big, greedy, not at all fussy boy cats and they have loved it. However, this bag they have all point blank refused to eat. I thought maybe it was a slight change and they would get used to it but over a week later they won't touch it and I have had to buy supermarket food (which they have eaten happily) until I can figure out a high quality solution. Very disappointing and a waste of £35.

Change in recipe???
I have been buying this variety for a few years now and our two cats absolutely loved it, unfortunately it seems that Applaws have changed the formula... Now the kibbles are much smaller and so break very easily which means a part of the food ends up in the bin as it practically turns into powder, but yet more importantly we have spotted some blood in our cats' poop. Will not buy it again, and really do not understand why the change, what a shame!

Projectile vomiting and stinky poop
title says it all really, this variety has made my cat very ill and the whole house stink, the chicken variety he can eat without issue though

Avoid the chicken and salmon variety
My cat loves the chicken flavoured variety of this food, but do yourself a favour and avoid the chicken and salmon variety! It literally smells of horse manure. It turned my stomach and my cat's stomach! And stank my kitchen out. Horrific.

My cats won't touch this
I have two cats, brothers, one who is really fussy and one greedy one who'll eat anything. I have tried many different dry foods and always introduce gradually. I usually find they're eager to try a new food but soon show me if they're not keen and won't eat any more but this is the only one they wouldn't touch at all!

Both Cats Hated it
I got this thinking it was good quality and because it has no cereal content. However, neither cats would even try a second bite, not even if I mixed it with their usual wet food. Ho hum, back to the Orijen.
