Changed, cat won’t eat anymore
Used to be my cats favourite but there has been changes and now he won’t eat it. Same with the Applaws wet food actually.

My cats have been eating this for over a year and no issues, they have now changed the size of the biscuit to more of a kitten kibble size and I think the actual food composition must have changed as well because even my pig of a cat won’t even eat it!

Was amazing, changed formula and kibble size
Been ordering for 5 years but every now and again they change the kibble size and formula and my cats hate it.
Switching to purizon as it is just as good but they guarantee kibble size for large cats
Our cat doesn't like change in ingredients
Our cat used to love the dried cat food. We used to bulk buy her the Chicken with Lamb, Chicken with Salmon and Chicken with Duck in 7.5kg bags. She won't eat anything that arrives in the new packaging. When I checked the ingredients on the new packaging, and compared it with the ingredients on an old bag, there has been a change to the formula, which has put our cat off. Unfortunately this means that we will now have to find a new brand of dried food for her.

I have two cats who eat a variety of different brands of dry food and have never complained. Until I tried this! Neither of them would go anywhere near it.

My cats love this and were not happy when this was temporarily unavailable. I've always thought this was the best dry food for them and they seemed to agree!
Really good food our cats love this
We have been using this for our cats for 4 years and they do not tire of it. It is a staple. They turn their nose up, at numerous other foods. Our cats are a healthy weight and very active. Highly recommend this.
Something has changed
My cat used to thoroughly enjoyed this food, even the kitten version. Something must've changed in this recipe as after a few feedings of this latest bought bag he threw the whole lot up and refused to eat. This was the only change and the vets found no other issues.
Cat won't touch it
She won't eat it at all and have to say, from a human standpoint, it doesn't smell particularly appetising. Not sure chicken and salmon combo is suitable.

Such a nutritious food, she loves it too!
I am shocked by the rating for this food and so had to review myself. After thorough research into cat nutrition I decided this was the best dry food for my girl. The meat content is exceptional. My cat, who has a habit of going off food after periods of time, has been on this for years and still runs to her bowl when she hears it. She eats this twice a day and a wet food twice. This food is so nutritious and if you care about what goes into your fur baby I highly recommend giving it a try.

Changed formula - stinky litter tray
Used to buy it for my cat 2 years in a row and he loved it, the litter tray never had bad smell, until the last order when I received my usal 6kg pack with completely different color and size cat food pieces. My cat didn't like to eat it but I thought I will give a few weeks to see if he gets used to it. Unfortunately, his litter tray started smelling umbarably every time he went for nr2 on top of that he developed urinary tract infection. Vets explained it to be due to changes in diet.

Cats dont like
my two cats love the other applaws dry food chicken and chicken and duck but they dont touch the salmon one at all.

Allergic reaction in my cat
He enjoyed it but after a couple of weeks he developed a rash all over his body with excessive scratching and grooming. I've removed the food and he is slowly improving.

Cat has had allergic reaction - Avoid!
I rarely write reviews but as my cat has developed a skin complaint and has been losing hair after eating applaws, I wanted to make sure other people were aware of this before purchasing. Since buying it I have since read several reviews saying similar which I wish I had read first. I'd recommend a different brand or you may be putting your cat's health at risk.

Very Negative Change

Why change what was working well
I’d been giving this food to my cats for about 4 years. A few months ago, when I bought a new bag, I noticed the kibble looked different and the smell had changed too. One of my cats got diarrhoea and it hasn’t stopped since. The formula has changed, and for the worse, and I’ve spent a lot of money at the vet trying to help my cat get better. I definitely don’t recommend it.

Not recommended since the new formula and pellet size
It's a shame that the recipe and the size of the pellets were changed without any notice. Since then, one of my cats can't tolerate it anymore and often throws up right after eating. No idea if it's because of the new size or the ingredients. Now I have to look for an alternative, which is really annoying, as my cats react quickly to changes in their food with diarrhoea and so on. Why change something that worked so well?!

The kibble is very small and may cause issues for cats with sensitive digestive systems
My cat was on this food for over 8 years. Unfortunately, the last bag we ordered was the last one from this company. The manufacturer changed both the size of the kibble (they're now really tiny, like for kittens) and the ingredients. A cat who ate this food for over 8 years now can't tolerate it at all after the changes. It gives him very severe diarrhoea. I ruled out other causes with numerous tests. After switching to a different food, everything started to return to normal. So that's the end of me buying Applaws food.

Kibble shrunk – but why?
Up until now, I’ve happily been feeding this supposedly good food to my 7-year-old lady cat, and she’s always enjoyed it.
However, with my latest order, I noticed that the kibble size has gone from about 1cm in diameter to half that (0.5cm), plus the colour is darker and the smell has changed too.
I’ll be switching to a different food!
