The cats in my house were both terrified of this toy, so I took it to a friend whose cat was more brave - but even he could not get out of the room quick enough when he saw the ribbon. Not sure what makes this toy so scary, as it seemed to be a nice idea

In over 40 years of sharing my space with feline companions, I have NEVER bought a toy that's inspired as much fun and excitement as this one. It's not fancy - just a simple ribbon on a pole with a little tweety star, but all 4 of my idiots go nuts for it, including the older one that usually shows no interest. They even play with it if I'm not waving it about - for HOURS. Is it enchanted?? Hands down the best toy I've ever purchased. Who knew?!

The toy itself is visually appealing, and looks as if it could be a substitute for a gymnast's ribbon with its long stretch of vibrantly coloured fabric. It seems to be reasonably well made too. However, I don't fancy the chances of the elastic which holds the toy to the wand once our cat who loves to chew eventually gets his teeth into it. Overall, my cats seem to think the toy is okay. They play with it with some interest, but it's clearly not a favourite. I hate the chirping star.

Can't praise the toy enough, got my 4 cats addicted. They generally love teaser toys, but this one is their favourite ever. Length allows most of them to play at the same time, squeaky star tells the whole house that play time is now and serves as toy for one and keeps the others motivated, the movement of the ribbon is smooth and entertaining and in general, they love watching it moving or grabbing it. Downside is that 1st toy's rod broke very quickly but ordered new one and all good.

my adult cat is nonplussed but the kitten loves it. it is a bit long to use the full length so kitten mainly plays with the star and the fist 10cm of ribbon. bonus points for it being nice to look at for humans too as most cat toys are pretty ugly.

I mistook the fishing rod for another one, but only realised it when I unpacked it... Merlin grabbed it straight away, and ever since the star started squeaking, he doesn’t want to let it go. However, I’d advise everyone – don’t leave your furry friend alone with it, as it’s easy to get tangled up in it.

Fantastic buy my 2 cats absolutely love it we have non stop play would highly recommended it so cheap as well in uk its double the price thanks so much loads of fun with it

The star is THE highlight of the year for our cats. It’s really durable, but we’ll still order another one just in case the first one gives out.

I ordered the Kong Stellar Teaser for the first time and am very disappointed. The quality is okay, but the concept doesn’t work. The string is far too long, and the squeaky star is rather odd. Fibi doesn’t know what to do with it. I’ll try shortening the string and cutting off the star.

This star has outlasted all other toys. Our cat digs this star out of every corner when you hide it. He carries it through the flat every evening. The squeaking can be a bit annoying at times, but the main thing is that the cat is happy.

This is a fantastically designed toy, and our cat loves it. We call it the Rainbow, and he chases it for ages without getting bored. I just wish the elastic cord was somehow more durable; our cat has a thing for elastic, and he chews right through it. We are now onto our third Rainbow. Sigh.

The first time, my two kitties were still a bit reserved, but now they absolutely love this colourful snake. They've never gone so wild over any toy before. Every evening, they demand that the "snake" be brought out, and then there's no stopping them. Of course, I have to add a bit of variety, so the "snake" crawls over the scratching post, under the furniture, and so on. The combination with the soft chirping of the star is particularly well done; it seems to really excite them.

The long rainbow tail is gorgeous to look at and great fun to swoosh but it's too long to be interesting to the cats. And the noise that the star makes is awful and extremely easy to set off.

This ribbon is longer than imaginable, but the pole is quite short. Ideal for playing indoors or running around in a garden. My star doesn't tweet but that doesn't matter - it is another part of the game if your cat likes 'hide & pounce' play. Good value.

Cats love the ribbon and play with it the tweeting star undecided but it seems the stitching is coming away opened it Friday night. Noticed Sunday morning stitching loose.

My cats love to play with strings and bands, but this one feels a bit strange to use. The tweeting star is at the top of the band (end of the stick).So naturally, they look on it's direction, completely putting them off from playing with the 8ft long band, specially when they are chasing the end of the band. If the tweet sound was at the end of the band,it would have been fun for them. And because the tweeting mechanism is inside the star, it doesn't make it easy to throw the band far from you.

Have had this for nearly 3 months.My cats still love to play with it every day.Had to remove the stuffing & squeaker from the star as one of my cats is a chewer/destroyer of toys but the star itself is still going strong as well as the ribbon.My Birman is obsessed with snake-like toys & usually ruins them quickly (like the felt charmer toys) but this has stood up to everything he’s got.My Maine Coon who is indifferent to most toys is crazy about this one & charges after it like a kitten.

I brought this coz its different. Geeee it's long, so clear your room. Porsha loves dangly toys and this one is no exception. Well made, noisey, and bright

This is the only toy that has been in use for a long time (almost two years now) and has survived all this time without any damage. The cats are absolutely thrilled with it; it encourages them to run and jump. Therefore, I can only recommend this wand.

A big hit in my household. I have 5 cats so it means there’s room for them all to have a bit of the toy at the same time if necessary. Even my one who doesn’t usually like dangler toys liked this. They definitely prefer it being dragged along the floor to waving in the air. Two particularly like the star & thin ribbons hanging off it. One cat loves it so much he carries it around the house dragging between his legs like a jaguar with an antelope & the others chase him!
