Cat's Best Universal

Once the cat scratches in the litter box, this litter falls apart. Horrible for long haired cat! Tracked all over the floor outside the litter box and got in her fur. No cat should have to lick litter out of their paws, tails and underbelly.

The cat litter is great but it's packed in a paper bag,which would be totally fine if delivered in a separate box from other things. Otherwise the litter bag always arrives ripped with litter everywhere.

My usual cat litter was not in stock so I tried this! Useless stuff! The first time my cat had a wee, it went straight through the litter & just puddled in the bottom. After a couple of wees the litter began to smell very strong & then my cat refused to go in it. When I went to clean it out, the wee had made the bottom of the litter tray turn to wet stinking dust that fell apart when you tried to scoop it! I gave some to my mother to try for her cat and she found the same! Threw it out!

Having read that our usual cat litter (Cat's Best Nature Gold / Smart Pellets) have been changed for the worse, I thought I'd try this litter instead as it was half the price and advertised for cats as well. It's definitely NOT made for cats. The pellets just seem to disintegrate into dust after our cats did their small business, hence leaving ugly tracking all over the house. I will go back our usual litter even though it's twice the price. Hopefully it's not as bad as people say it's become.

I bought this for my 2 cats as my usual Cats Best Gold is proving expensive and does leave some tracking: after reading the mixed reviews of the Universal litter i thought i,d give it a go but wish i hadn,t wasted the money buying 2 x 10 l bags as it isn,t really for cats; it is difficult to tell which pellets have actually been used and there is vast amounts of powder left at the bottom of the litter tray when my cats have used it and i end up scooping out pellets which do not appear to have been used which are mixed in with the powder. I have 2 trays and only used one of the trays to try this product. My boys don,t seem to like it either and much prefer the usual Gold litter so i,ve now had to go back to that.The only "plus" i can give the Universal is that it doesn,t track but my 2 boys and I are very disappointed with this product.

The last few orders have been a complete disaster... The manufacturer should refund the money for such rubbish! Right from the start, the bag is just full of dust, the product looks like leftovers from the production line, not the final product. I’ll never order this dust again, because that’s not what I’m paying for.

Up until now, after coming into contact with urine or other liquids, the litter would break down into sawdust, and cleaning the tray was easy because I could just sift it. The last batch – a disaster. About a third of the litter breaks down, but the rest dissolves and turns into a sticky mush that’s impossible to sift. I’ll order one last time; if I just got a bad batch before, fine, but if I get litter with this changed formula again, I’ll never order it again.

Non-clumping litter is a complete mistake. You can't clean the litter box with a scoop, you basically have to throw all of it away. Plus, it doesn't absorb odours. I'm going back to the litter with the purple label.

Non-clumping cat litter pellets. This product doesn't absorb any odours at all. The smell of urine is disgusting even after a small wee! Why aren't the PeeWee wood pellets available anymore?! They were a thousand times better.

It doesn't clump at all, you can't scoop out the pee-soaked litter because it just falls apart. It doesn't trap odours either. I tried the purple-pack version from this brand and that one is much better compared to this.

Years ago it was perfect, but lately it smells awful and doesn't absorb the smell of urine.

I’ll try other non-clumping brands, because lately this one smells really bad.

For cats, it's terrible – it smells awful and I wouldn't recommend it.

I didn't have a good experience with this product. The pellets are too big, they don't clump, and they turn into something like flour. If the cat does more than just pee, it smells terrible because it doesn't absorb and the cat can't cover it up. The only good thing is that it doesn't make any dust... I recommend buying smaller pellets.

I don't like this litter. It's not clumping at all. It just turns into dust. I went for the purple pack instead, which is much better.

First of all, the size of the pellet is really big, so it can be uncomfortable for the kitten if it has small paws. Secondly, when it comes to urine, it just falls apart and stays at the bottom, it doesn’t clump together. And thirdly, for poo, it doesn’t cover anything at all.

Do not even think about buying this product. It's just money thrown out the window. These are cheap pellets that don't keep the smell in and don't clump at all.

Acceptance is good, the pellets are large but they break apart and don’t clump, plus it starts to smell really quickly (after 2 days). June 26

No idea what happened, but the quality has really gone downhill. I never used to have any problems with smells or dust, and sometimes a PeeWee tray would last a whole week. Now I have to change it almost every day because it smells and there’s dust everywhere.

I don’t know what’s going on, but I think it’s about time the manufacturer started feeling ashamed. The current quality of the product can only be described with one word: DISASTER! After refilling the litter tray with fresh pellets, it looks dirty, full of dust and tiny bits that are ready to be sifted out straight away. One of my three cats is so unhappy with it that he’s started doing his business outside the tray. Luckily, he still wants to pee in it. I’m saying goodbye to cat’s beat for good.

Bad experience. Instead of pellets, after two visits from the cat there were no more pellets, just dust, which gets stuck in the fur and spreads all over the flat. I always use Cat's Best Smart Pellets and I'm very satisfied. I thought this was the same product, just in a bigger pack.

DM sells better quality pellets for the same price, this is pathetic, just get rid of it!

This is one of the worst cat litters I’ve ever tried. Even a scoop with really big holes can’t handle it—actually, no scoop works well, unless you just want to move clean litter to another tray. When cleaning the litter box, you end up picking up more clean granules than actual waste. When the cat pees, the clumps fall apart into fine dust, so the tray never really feels clean and the cats aren’t happy with it.
