Clumps barely
We used Catsan Hygiene Plus for our now-deceased tomcat and were very satisfied with it. Based on recommendations and the good reviews here and in various tests, we decided to go for the supposedly better CBÖP for our new tomcat and are extremely disappointed: it barely clumps, making the "lump disposal" tedious and time-consuming. Additionally, a large amount gets scattered out of the litter box when scratching – we’ll probably switch back to Catsan!

With 40 years of cat experience, the best litter
I’ve grown up with cats my whole life and I think this cat litter is simply the best. I only need to completely change it every two weeks, and the clumps don’t fall apart when sifting them out. I always recommend Cat’s Best Öko Plus to friends and acquaintances.

Very good cat litter
I had been searching for the "right" cat litter for a long time. It should clump, contain no additives that don't belong in it (asbestos, fibres that harm the lungs, etc.), and it shouldn't really smell when in use. I used Cat's Best years ago and have now come back to it. The downside is that my cats carry these "crumbs" all over the flat. That was the reason I looked for a different cat litter. But that's down to the cat, not the litter. I'm sticking with it.

Review of ÖkoPus Cat Litter
My cats like the litter, though it's not great that the stones end up scattered around the flat. The clumping is excellent, and the flat doesn't smell of cat. I'm thrilled. I hope it stays this way; otherwise, I'll switch back.

Very great!
I discovered this litter back then through zooplus and have been absolutely thrilled ever since. At the time, I tried out other types of litter without knowing better, but they always smelled, crumbled, or ended up being a hassle, etc.
But with CB Öko Plus, there's no more unpleasant odour. It clumps perfectly, I clean it several times a day, I don't need much, and most importantly: my cat loves it. It's a litter she doesn't even lie down in or spend ages scratching around in :D My conclusion after over a year of use: It's staying in the household, no ifs or buts. A fantastic litter.

Not impressed
The litter spread all around the cat litter box and was carried through half the flat. In my opinion, it didn’t bind odours at all, but it does smell very fresh and woody when opening and filling the litter box. Unfortunately, my cats didn’t like it at all and instead chose corners in the flat. I’ve therefore switched back to the litter they were used to. On the positive side, it’s worth mentioning that individual clumps can be disposed of in the litter box (for example, if a big smelly clump is made after cleaning the box, which would otherwise spread its scent throughout the flat).

Good litter, but...
This cat litter is very good in terms of clumping and odour control, and you can dispose of it via the toilet. However, at least with my tomcat, it sticks to his paws and ends up being spread all over the flat. It's just everywhere.

Unfortunately, not good anymore.
I used to be an enthusiastic user of Premiere clumping litter, but I started to worry because my tomcats lick the residue off their paws when cleaning themselves, and having concrete in their stomachs is definitely not ideal. On top of that, we were getting more and more grey streaks and marks around the house.
So, we switched to Cats Best Öko Plus. My boys complained because the litter was scattered everywhere, but I stood my ground because I liked the smell and was quite impressed, even though the clumps were nowhere near as good as the previous litter.
However, my enthusiasm has faded with the last two packs. The litter tray starts to smell horrendous after a short time—you might as well put newspaper in the tray... Plus, the litter is incredibly dusty.
So, we’ll have to start looking for an alternative again.
What a shame.

Simply brilliant!
Cat's Best is the best cat litter I’ve ever bought. One pack lasts me a long time. This natural product is pleasantly light and soft – a real relief compared to other products available on the market. That’s why I keep recommending Cat's Best to everyone.

Quality is steadily declining.
For years, I used this product and was thrilled with it. Great clumping properties, optimal odour control, a pleasant wood scent, and—an important point if you have many cats—very economical. However, the quality has deteriorated significantly over the past year. First, the wood scent disappeared, then it barely clumped at all, and after just two days, there was an unpleasant stench of cat urine, making a complete cleaning of the litter box necessary. For the price, that's simply unacceptable! At first, I thought I’d just gotten a bad batch, but the next two bags were also subpar, and the quality continued to decline. I wouldn’t recommend this product anymore and have since switched to a different litter. CBÖP now only has the quality of discount-store litter.

True, the quality keeps getting worse.
I’ll join the chorus of those reporting a decline in quality. It’s true. I’m a big fan of Cat’s Best Öko Plus, have always recommended it, and only buy the 40-litre packs since I have several cats. But the clumps just don’t hold together anymore, and the odour control is nowhere near as good as it was a year ago. Even in a multi-cat household, you used to only need to completely change the litter boxes every 2–3 weeks; topping them up was enough, nothing smelled, and the absorbency was impressive and lasted a long time. Now, however, the litter boxes need changing after just one week at the latest, there’s an unpleasant smell, and there’s a long trail of litter outside the boxes. I don’t know for sure, but I get the impression the litter is wetter than it used to be, which is why it’s not as good anymore. And this, despite the fact that the price has noticeably gone up here at Zooplus.

Cat's Best Oko Plus
This litter tracks terribly. I've found it everywhere in our house including on our bed. I have mat outside the litter tray but it doesn't help. The litter clumps well but sticks to the bottom of the tray, which was a pain to clean until I placed some paper at the bottom. Because of the tracking issues I have not bought this again.

Used to be the best litter - now very disappointing.
For 10 years, I’ve been using Cat's Best Öko Plus.
It has significant advantages over other litters: even the large packs are lightweight and easy to carry up to higher floors.
A litter box filling always lasted quite a long time, which made the price worthwhile. It had a pleasant wood scent and effectively suppressed urine odour. By regularly removing pee and poo, our jumbo litter box (enthusiastically used by two cats) easily lasted several weeks before needing to be completely emptied and refilled.
The downside has always been that it sticks to the paws and gets spread all over the apartment. But so far, I haven’t found a clumping litter where this wasn’t the case...
However, the good times are over, as my last delivery proves: after 2-4 days, the litter still looks fine visually but already smells. Removing the clumps (which really don’t hold together as well as they used to) no longer eliminates the odour as it used to – and in LESS than two weeks, the litter box filling is completely pulverised and reeks to high heaven.
I thought, well, okay, maybe it’s due to the hot summer, or I got a bad batch. But now I’m reading here from other users that they’ve had the same experience: the only positive feature left is the lightweight nature, but durability and odour absorption are no longer present.
That’s why, unfortunately, I can only give a sad one-star rating.
I’ll now be testing another litter. Additionally, I’d be delighted if Cat's Best could pull themselves together and deliver top quality again – especially since the price has risen significantly in recent years (around €10 since 2004), which, combined with such a drop in quality, is NOT OK.

good bedding
We switched to this litter 4 years ago after adopting our pair from the animal shelter. I can only recommend it. Our two little rascals took to it well and won’t use any other litter now.

The more expensive, the worse.
I've been using CBÖP for many years. It used to be absolutely brilliant. I have 10 cats myself and often take in rescue cats. The bag I just emptied was the last one. The clumping has been leaving a lot to be desired for about a year now; the clumps would fall apart when being removed. And – what’s actually the worst part – it started smelling in the house after just two days. That never used to happen before. I had accepted the "beach feeling" because CBÖP used to bind odours really well and formed great clumps. Plus, I could put it on the compost.
Now I’m trying out various other litters. Let’s see which one we’ll ultimately switch to.
I used to recommend CBÖP everywhere. Not anymore.

Bad choice
I regret my purchase and wonder how these 4 stars from around 2,300 reviews came about.
One of my cats didn’t accept this litter at all and provocatively peed right in front of the litter box with the new litter (previously used clumping litter). Well, that’s not the manufacturer’s fault. BUT:
- Despite weekly changes, this litter starts to smell very quickly! It begins to develop an unpleasant odour by the 2nd or 3rd day. And honestly, I have no intention of having to completely change the litter every 2 days. I can understand my cat not wanting to use THIS litter box either (I’ve set up one litter box with the new Cat’s Best litter and one with the "familiar" clumping litter, just to be safe).
- The "waste" breaks apart very quickly. The small broken pieces are then difficult to distinguish from the "clean" litter and to fish out, as the individual pieces of the litter are relatively large – I’d say up to 1 cm.
+ It’s true that you can dispose of the litter via the toilet, but you first have to wait until the litter has soaked and loosened. Only then can you flush it down. Of course, it’s not ideal to have poo floating around in the toilet for 10 or 20 minutes ;)
+ Easy to transport
+ Thanks to the relatively large litter pieces, the floor around the litter box is easier to clean, even quickly with a hand broom ;)
Conclusion: Out of 5 points, this litter gets 2 points due to the negative aspects, which are personally very important to me!

The best cat litter I've ever had
No more annoying tying up little bags and carrying them down to the rubbish. This litter can simply go into the toilet. Emptying the cat litter tray has never been so easy and quick.
Clumping is absolutely fine too. Nothing to complain about. I don’t use any other litter anymore.

No dust but zero clumping.
There are several tests circulating online in which CBÖP comes out as the winner. Excited at the prospect of having bought the best, I immediately went for the largest bag. My cat and four ferrets accepted the litter straight away. However, after just one day, I can already tell that while this litter hardly produces any dust, its clumping ability is poor. EVERY clump falls apart, making it impossible to separate the "dirty" from the clean. I regret the purchase and will switch to another product.
