user-friendly
Due to the round cut-out, this item is also well-suited for glass doors and insulated glass.

Not for real tigers
Installed three days ago. On the second day, my tigers had already torn off the lock from the inside (plastic broken), and this morning two of them escaped through the flap that was locked from the outside. They lifted it from the inside and then squeezed through underneath.

Optimal
This cat flap has been in use with us for about 1.5 years now.
We had it installed in a double-glazed window.
There’s nothing to complain about. Even the glazier was impressed that the indicated measurements for the flap were correct, which, according to him, is often not the case.
Even after 1.5 years, the flap functions as if it were brand new.

The flap could be sturdier.
I’ve already read a similar comment. We’re now on our third replacement as well. Unfortunately, you always have to buy a complete cat flap with the mounting frame; it would be enough if you could just purchase the door separately. Even better, of course, would be an improvement in quality so that the breakage of the mounting brackets at the top right and left doesn’t happen in the first place. Otherwise, I can highly recommend this flap for installation in standard lattice metal basement windows. It works just like in a glass window—just cut out the opening, install it, and you’re done.

Somehow still too narrow
Had the cat flap installed by a glazier from Ricklingen (£237). We had a double-glazed balcony door. He had a lot of experience with it! At the bottom, he used a chipboard with the cat flap, and above it, the new double-glazed pane was superbly done!!!
Only the cat flap of the product has an opening of just about 15.5x15.5 cm and not 23 cm as we thought! Almost too narrow for our GIANTS!!

Super cat flap!
The flap has been used intensively by my 6-month-old tomcat for 2 months now! Installing it in a single-pane glass was also very affordable at €50. The only downside is the condensation on the inside of the glass, but I can live with that, especially since installation in double-glazed glass would have cost many times more, and I can always have it reinstalled if needed!

Cat flap
The cat flap is good. Unfortunately, our cat (3 years old) still doesn’t want to use it – she’s very timid and prefers to stay cold. However, we’re still working on it.

cat flap
So far, the cat flap has been working perfectly for 6 months, even with 3 cats. However, the flap is always set to open. I can imagine that if I were to close it, the cats might try to force their way through and could end up damaging the flap.
The access is on the sheltered southeast side of the house, and there haven’t been any issues with freezing so far.

Cat flap in window
Very good idea – but how do you install it? I’d buy it straight away if someone could answer that question for me!

Super, but one is not enough
The cat flap is absolutely brilliant and has been enhancing the quality of life for our two cats for the past 4 years.
Installing it in a double-glazed window is no problem – even our landlords have come around to the idea (of course, we have/had to replace the original pane when moving out).
The flap freezing up has happened before, but using a de-icing spray for car doors solves the issue effortlessly.
However, cat flaps don’t last forever – we’re now on our fourth one. Although all the damage has been caused externally, the plastic flaps (top left/right) seem to break off quite quickly.
A big shout-out to Zooplus at this point – ordered on Friday, delivered on Saturday.

Frozen flap
We've had the flap for about 5 years now. However, we're already on our fourth or fifth one because one keeps breaking every now and then. In the past few days, it froze shut for the first time.
When I noticed it, I rubbed a bit of cooking oil around the edges of the flap the next day. That helped a little. However, my cat is still confused and doesn't quite trust it again yet.

Cat flap
I’ve had the door for just over a year now and have been very happy with it, but last night, at -15°C, it froze for the first time! So Sandra’s experience isn’t an isolated case. My two lady cats were already two years old when I had the door installed, and they got the hang of it straight away. But my little tomcat only managed to open the flap himself when he was about six months old; before that, he kept trying unsuccessfully.

FLAP KEEPS FREEZING!!
For three days now, the flap has been almost permanently frozen shut. On the first night, I didn’t notice, and my cat was left outside all night in -8 degrees. According to the manufacturer, customers have supposedly never complained about this issue, but I can’t imagine I’m the only one experiencing this problem. Even zooplus claims they’ve never received a complaint. This is irresponsible in terms of design. WHAT CAN I DO?? DOES ANYONE HAVE TIPS or experiences to share??

Light and Shadow
The practical benefit is undeniable, the cats love it. Unfortunately, we’ve already had to install the third flap because the seal keeps coming off irreparably. Even with the seal, the flap isn’t exactly windproof. During gusts of wind, the magnet isn’t strong enough to keep the flap closed. It’s also frozen shut on us 2-3 times, leaving the cats stuck outside the door. Sadly, we haven’t found another supplier yet.

I am very satisfied with my purchase. At first, you do need a bit of patience until the cats figure out how the door works, but in the meantime, this cat flap has been a great help to us. It also seals very tightly as it has a rim made of fine hairs. However, when installing it, I wouldn’t use single-pane glass again as widely recommended, but rather opt for the more expensive insulated glass. Single-pane glass fogs up quite unattractively in cold weather and during winter.

Good lid
The flap works perfectly, and our two cats are delighted that they can now go into the garden whenever they want, and we’re happy that we no longer have to keep opening the front door.
The only small downside (applies to all Cat Mate flaps): unfortunately, they’re not quite as silent as they could be. Better mounting of the flap would prevent the rattling noises. It’s not an issue in the basement, but it is in the bedroom door.

Cat flap
Simply brilliant. My cat can go in and out as he pleases and is completely independent of me. Plus, the white colour matches the window frame perfectly. After installing this door, even one of my neighbours decided to get a door installed for her cat as well.
