My (very un fussy) cat wouldn’t touch it
My cat is on a special diet, partly because, as a former street cat, she will eat anything and everything and it’s affected her stomach, and yet she will not eat this.
The biscuits are fine but each tin I opened of this all went down the loo after days of stand offs between me and my cat!
It’s an enormous shame that this is the only wet food offered for this diet plan.
I liked that it was in a tin as it’s better for recycling. But only if your cat eats it.

Heinous
My cat, who will eat anything, would not touch this. We were advised to try her on it for her gastrointestinal problems but she hated it and was miserable for the week that we tried her on it. It looks pretty grim but maybe it might help your cat... if they will eat it.

Yucky!
An expensive waste - So sticky and yucky. My cat is very greedy and eats anything - but she would not touch this! It does not resemble an appealing cat food at all. I tried mixing it with water to make it less sticky but ended up giving it all away to a cat rescue place - let's see if they eat it there!

Consistent product but poor palatability
Pate type food, tried mixing in very small amounts with a food he likes but as soon as proportions increase, doesn't eat the wet food. Tried Dechra's hydrolysed hypoallergic wet food (food allergen management) instead and would advise to try that as an alternative- smells a lot like tuna!

Highly overrated - our cat starving for three days since given this food.
Recommended by Our Vet for our cat as he scratches or leak his hair form back to bare skin.
Due to consistency - thick pate like of this product our cat doesn't want to eat it from day one. He struggled to take a bite , We tried to add some boiled water but intensive liver odour still keep him away from this food. As resould our cat aws starving for three days eating little of same product in dry form.
We stopped his trial and orderd Royal Canin substitute hope would work better.

waste of money
my cat with severe skin allergies was on z/d diet for almost tewo years and he hated the wet food (did not particularly like the dry either) and the food did not do him any good anyways. we switched to Purina Veterinary Diets Feline HA - Hypoallergenic, they actually smell decent (like cheese crackers) and both my cats love it. As that one does not come with wet food option I am trying Kattovit sensitive and he seems to be ok for the moment. never again z/d was a big waste of money!

Nasty sticky stuff with no texture
Your cat probably won't enjoy this. Mine eat it when they are really hungry. Spike just turned his nose up at a bowl of this, then when I let him outside, he's eating some bread I'd put out for the birds

Terrible and a total waste of money
My cat has a skin allergy and has been on the hills dry food, which works well. But the canned food is awful, he really struggled to eat it. He did try but we’d end up throwing most of the tin away. We couldn’t get the better of his skin allergy until, we stopped the canned zd food totally. I noticed on another review that they put the food out for foxes. We tried that and the foxes wouldn’t eat it

Sticky
Sadly none of my cats will touch it, even the one's that aren't fussy. It's a paste but more like a solid jelly which is like glue. Literally like glue. It won;t mush easily and stick to everything. A bit yucky. Expensive mistake.

Awful and cat hates it
12 tins is the minimum buy - ridiculous as 12 tins is a huge amount of food and they were packing singly so why couldn't I just order 1 or 2 to try? Very difficult to handle - it's a dry, sticky mousse that is very hard to deal with. Thirdly, the cat hates it and won't eat it.

My non-picky cat literally will not eat a bit of this
Our cat has to go on an elimination diet and I thought it would be nice for him to have wet as well as dry food available to him. While he is happy with the z/d dry, he absolutely won't touch this and I wind up throwing it all away every time. He's not been articularly picky at all in the past. Too bad!

Hils Prescription z/d
Thought I'd try my cat on this for variety, wished I hadn't.
Its a weird texture, stodgy and thick, never come across a cat food like it, hard to get out of tin and she will not go near it. Lucky I feed foxes as they have had to eat it, very costly mistake

negligent company
Hills is the only company to produce wet hypoallergenic hydrolysed cat food for allergic dermatitis. We pay premium prices to keep our cats healthy, we have no other option. Why have they changed the formula, and having done so to the detriment of the product, now removed the product completely. We are left with no choice but to feed our cats the dry food with the associated risks of obesity, cystitis and more importantly diabetes. Furthermore it is impossible to get any information from the company as to its future plans. They are putting our cats health and lives at risk. They are taking our money knowing that we depend on them, and doing nothing in return.

Terrible - Go Back to Formula
I agree with Ann's review. I have waited months for the food (what's happened to the supply) and now my cat hates it. It's smelly, well and like slop. So gross, it used to be more solid. I really don't understand why they made the changes they have. I will still have to buy it but I have a very unimpressed cat!

NOT HAPPY.
My cat has a food allergy. He has the ZD biscuits and the zd tins, the only things he can eat,
I have waited for 2 months for the wet food to come back into stock , my poor cat has been living on just the biscuits Finally it is back in stock and hills have changed the formula! it used to be pretty solid but I used to add a bit of water and it was fine, It is now like slop in a tin..literally and it stinks.
What have Hills done? very disappointed. They should have left it as it was.
